Couldn't get across to Northallerton, river burst.
  3. Been in many mate, some good some not so good. Most of the 'patients' are medicated up to the hilt and sit around watching TV all day. As long as they behave then its not a bad ride, dull and repetetive, but bearable. Was in one a couple of weeks ago and one fella had been in seclusion for over a month, kept in a small room with a serving hatch. It was like something out of 'silence of the lambs'.........scary..... ........but then again he had been a very naughty boy

  13. I have a nice 4 weight rod built by a bloke in Bradford 20 years ago, takes a bit of getting used to and it's a real slow action. I haven't fished it for a few years but I snapped the tip on my Hardy marksman this years so dusted it off. Like an old friend it creaked into action and caught me some nice trout this year....

  18. When it first came out me and a mate started going fishing dressed in tweed suits bought from charity shops, we had a couple of split cane fly rods and ponced up and down many a river bank without buying a ticket lol
  19. Unlucky Neil, just let the dog out tonight, came straight out of her kennel into a bramble patch not 20 foot away and out popped a Woodcock. Came past me that close I could have thrown my hat over it !
  20. Quite right Neil ! I had mine and a snipe roasted this week on a piece of toast, covered with some of my bacon.......if I was on death row that would be my last meal lol.......
  21. Funny that Neil, we have one wintering on our shoot. Magic birds, saw it coming down the hedge line last week so squeaked it to within 6 foot of me. Like big moths they are floating round.
