  1. Slipper; There are lots of private counsellors, psychologists and practitioners who can provide help and care that won't have to be recorded with your GP. And they can do a lot more for you than just prescribe drugs. Hope you get it sorted, Dodge
  2. That's great, thanks Marcus. I shall remember to pump with authoritaaah. There's a sporting clay ground nearby in in very wet valley, can't wait to try it out there.
  3. Hi all, I recently picked up a Benelli Supernova as a 'rainy day' gun as we get nothing but those lately. I note that it takes 2 3/4, 3 and 3" shotshells, but is there any reason it would not take 2 1/2 shotshells? Forgive me if this seems a daft question, can't find answers anywhere. Cheers
  4. Thanks Rowan; This - http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/anschutz-msr-rx22-precision-22-lr - would be in price range. For a 'non classic' style rifle, I do quite like the form follows function look of it. Do you know if 'tactical' semi autos are going to be banned by the EU or not? That's one concern of this type of rifle.
  5. Thanks for the replies all, did try to reply sooner from teh phone but who knows where that post ended up... I've got some good ideas of rifles now that I didn't know about before to try out / look at. It will definitely have to be a semi-auto for the two shots in two second exposure target. FWIW I tried a different Ruger 10/22 at the club last night and got my first 6 x's - I'll have to find out what they changed in it to make it different to the one I was using the past three months. It looked a bit older and sadder and was just tucked away in the corner of the cabinet and it would never
  6. Thanks Walshie; the CZ's look nice and solid, checked out a video on YouTube. Just reckon that bolt action would hinder me in getting two shots off on a two second target exposure. Mind you the under lever guys do it...do you think a bolt action would be quick enough, if I was? Is it likely to damage the mechanism working it that quickly?
  7. Sad to hear, but what makes it worse is that people like Bowie are not being replaced in the upcoming generation of musicians...or if they are their music is so buried I've no chance of finding it. RIP Bowie / good music
  8. Great lens and handsome dog, I especially like it for indoor use...I used to create quite a bit of content for magazines (surfing type stuff) and as well as the action shots you always needed to pad out the story with some lifestyle images and the nifty fifty was great for capturing the mood of a post-sesh local ale in front of a fire etc... I also think it makes a good lens for video too, either just sitting on a tripod for talking to camera pieces or handheld and steadily panning around objects - as in this little video I made
  9. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction - I've been a member of our local rifle club for three months and am looking to get my first .22 rifle. I'd like to use it for rabbits, permission pending, but more often for practising precision and timed target shooting at the range, and for this it needs a 6 round magazine minimum. All I can find on my internet window shopping sprees so far are the Ruger 10/22 (same as the club's gun I'm using at the moment) and tactical looking semi-autos which I'm not really that fond of as I prefer more traditional looking guns. After something wi
  10. Thanks for the warm welcome all, It is not a bad place to be at all. I'm ashamed to say I've never fished for bass...but that will change as bought the missus some tackle as she's keen. Shooting clays from a standup paddle board could work ha! Cornish flag selected. Thanks for the tip
  11. Hi all, I've been lurking on this forum for a few months and feel that now it's time to step out of the gloom and getting involved in some threads. A bit about me, new to shooting this summer when the missus and I were hooked after a lesson in clay pigeon shooting from Dave Hearne at Cornish Clay Pigeon Coaching. Instantly realising what had been missing from our lives, I bought us a couple of Weihrauch air rifles for plinking, then I joined the Newquay Rifle Club, and now I have my SGC and a 12 bore for me and a 20 bore for the missus which I hope we will be enjoying over the Christmas
  12. I was told by our very amiable FEO that if I had 5 or more shotguns, the safe would need to be alarmed and if I had 10 or more, the house would need to be alarmed. I'm on 2 at the moment so that's something to strive for I reckon.
