  4. a 500gr jill ferret is just a small ferret , not realy a micro. 500gr is about 1,lbs, i have a hob that only weighs a fraction above that, i have 2 small lean jills that are only around that weight. had three jills mated this year, 1 had a phantom, 1 lost all her litter of 5, the other jill only has 2 of her litter of 4 left, mine do tend tohave small litters. my ferreting partner has a hob and jill thar are tiny , bred out of one of my jills , to another fellas tiny hob, these 2 ferrets realy are tiny. heres a pic of a jill now dead, i have 2 of the kits out of here here still a hob
  5. are you down the bottom somwhere charts?? victoria??? i loved oz great country and people , great hunting as well, have a good un
  6. in my opinion take a pup ferreting from 4 month old, on its own, NO other dogs. just you a ferret, a few nets and your pup. do this for a couple of hours a few times a week if ya can now im not saying let it chase bolters, of course not, let it sniff around the warrens, and hold its collar when the ferrets to ground, let it get close up to rabbits in the net ect,, do it all as calm as you can, nice and quiet. after 6 month of this you may well have a good ferreting dog, rather than a dog that goes ferreting
  7. Not a shock realy,,, but you got to feel for her family

not traveling the world with my 2 ozy mates 12 year ago and all my long term girlfriends befor i met my wife,, they were just a waste of time. i dont mean they were bad people, just that i didnt love them, so wasted mine and there time being with them.
  11. My kits had their eyes open at 3 weeks. I still have the kits and at 7 weeks they are climbing through tunnels and running all over the run so they are doing well. I will put the jill back in today. I just wanted to make sure she was dried up and they wouldn't try to feed off of her. I'm not in a hurry to get rid of them. I just want them to go to the right people. Thanks tomo THEY DONT HAVE THERE EYES OPEN AT 3 WEEK,,, they CAN start to open then,, just little slits,, but your not telling me a full litter of kits had there eyes wide open at 3 weeks.
  12. i cant get my head round this getting rid of kitts at 6 or 8 week old first of all it takes 4-5 week for them to open there eyes,, there still not mooving corectly on there feet at 6 week. they should still be with the jill till at least 10 weeks . do your kits a favour and put the jill back in
