lovely clip that as you say its a shame stuff like this is lost....I suppose modern machines do it quicker... theres a load of wild hops on one of the hedgerows just a few hundred yards from my cottage ....ive never picked them or owt but its nice to see them every year and I'm always hoping the farmer don't cut the hedge before they flower...

I must admit its been one of them things I would have liked to have done.....you know take a good british coursing dog around the world chasing veriouse hare species ... I recon them jack rabbits in the usa would be fun.....and theres about 4 species or more in north America....and of course the Iberian hare in spain

me and the mrs were living in Ibiza at the time ...shared an apartement with my ozzy mate...he came in and woke us up ...we went downstairs to the bar we lived above and watched it on the telly....very shocking event ...its funny the things that you remember....I always remember one of the firefighters names....from after the actual event and from watching the documenterys about it....Orio Palmer.....got to the 78 floor....can you believe that the 78th floor....imagin being that brave...and fit ..going up in to that .... and last summer...2019 ...the 200th firefighter to die from from ill

its thought the reason most church yards in villages had yew trees ...was to provide the villagers with longbows when needed....but I think ash was widly used as well

its a shame that oaks coming to the end of its days shovel leaner ....as was said earlier if only they could talk.... think it was wilf that said earlier they are such an iconic tree of everything that is/was great about great Britain ....and coincidently we spoke of films on this thread and in robin hood ...morgan freemans character remarks damn that English oak when hes trying to get bash a door down but carnt... and wernt our old sailing navy made out of oak..

under Nottingham castle ....and all round the city there are entrances to tunnels ...and there are a few guided tours there are miles and miles of them.. ...also not far away is the galleries of justice ...that's very intresting its all the old jail and courst house from way back in history..... last time I was there I was looking at all the graffiti carved in to the walls by the prisoners ..very often before they were shipped of to OZ ...and what was incredible was the standard of handwriting ....real old writing ..like calligraphy ...beautifull it was

And also theres a statue of robin hood outside Nottingham castle.....how much more proof do you need... and not forgetting robin was often found boozing in the pub that's carved in to the castle walls Ye olde trip to Jerusalem ....the oldest pub in Britain.. 1189....so again must be true
