lets start at the beginning.....lol...... first of all that aint spain its south america....you might think so what....but they are European brown hares not Iberian... theres 4 dogs at one point on a hare.... that vid is not going to convince me that our british dogs might struggle in spain... i would love for our dogs to be superior....of course i would....i just dont believe you can say they are by watching spanish galgos on vid in spain.....you would have to go there and do it...to know for sure

exactly ....last time i was up north west of Madrid...driving through the country was mile after mile of wheat/barley stubble.. mc would love it i recon..

i would like to see them vids... not sure why you would think Spain isn't as rich as our land....although i suspect most lads look at Spain when they go on there hols to south and med coast....where it can be very arid i have been fortunate to travel the hole way round Spain...more than once and the land up in the middle and around Madrid is very fertile....very big open land....not dissimilar to our own fens ....every time I've drove through those areas i have often thought i would love to run a good hare dog here in the winter...

it might be bigger ...but im not sure that makes it faster...or perhaps harder to catch... all the times ive been out coursing and spoke to lads more experienced than myself will often remark that the best hares they have ran have been the smaller jacks around six or seven pounds rather than the big 8 or 9 pound whoppers you sometimes get ... its an interesting subject and open for debate of course....cos there are dozens of hare species around the world... and i see lads on here dismissing the spanish hare saying our coursing dogs would muller them....i would love to see that c

i must admit i would like to hear mc view on what he means exactly by "slop".....because i usualy find when its particularly muddy and the hares feet are getting balled up same as my dogs....the dogs catch easier...

we british do like to think our hare is the hardest to catch....this opinion is ussualy based on nothing more than pride..... cos lets be honest there will be very few of us that have took a dog to other countries to find out

I've not read the hole thread ..so you may have already said .. have you ever tried a f1 sal grey mC HULL...if so what was opinion... I've never to my knowledge seen one..so be interesting to hear

to be fair though what he said is correct in general .... i think with lurchers in general first crosses are limited with speed ...thats why we like "LURCHERS " so much... stuff with different breeds in but plenty running dog...bred from best to best..
