  1. noones yet mentioned wheaton/greys or beddie x's or the like ~ if you can get hold of one, they are very hard dogs, but equally important they are tenacious in their hunting style(or so ive seen in the few ive encountered)
  2. im wanting to buy a rifle around .22 calibre for shooting all the usual bunnies, corvids etc, but also foxies as i've decided using the shottie all the time for them is just not going to do! so. how strict is the licensing/how much is it, what sort of cabinet do i need, and finally, any thoughts on which particular gun i should choose? if not .22, what other calibres would suit my needs? thanks in advance matt
  3. have you got an FAC reg gun then? if not, surely that's not powerful enough to drop a hare outright?
  4. stunning dogs mate ~ tell the posers to smile next time!
  5. as always Moll, fantastic pictures, a real pleasure to view - your dogs seem to smile! perhaps its overall good health but the more likely story is that you left your pills out what's that dense terriers breeding? matt
  6. am i right in assuming you run scenthounds, whitser? if so ~ practically impossible!
  7. maybe, but thats nothing to base a working terrier breeding program on ~ my gundog catches and kills rats, so does my boxer show one a fox and i reckon it would piss itself! the few ive encountered have been curs, running up to my dogs and quaking if they growl. DEFINATELY not worthy of putting over a decent working bitch.
  8. just because a prunes wrinkly, doesnt mean it aint tasty no, but i bet you'd be embaressed to eat it in public though! come on then women, lets have some pics of you lot! by my reckoning you're all probably late 60's early 70's wanting some good fiddling material!!! found you out havent i?!
  9. me and the present mrs lampinglurcher once tried epaulating my manbits. emphasis on the "once" bit. i hurt. alot. i do wax the pits and my feeble attempt at chest hair for boxing but thats all nowadays. i like my women hairless or at best not too hairy ~ don't like the rash i get around my face
  10. ive never weighed in the day before! maybe thats why im not a world beater...
  11. with that said, dont staffs usually make fair pig dogs?
  12. i did indeed, it wasnt a fight - it was a slaughtering! ive done it a few times going up to bristol again soon, not really my thing, im a boxer kye how tall are you? you're a pretty light guy arent you?
  13. what's your price range and age range fella? ive got an austin cooper s that could be up for grabs, paid a pretty penny for her and have done alotof work to her - had alot over her bonnet as well if you know what i mean
  14. ill second that, good bloke, great service and fantastic products, you cant go wrong with this guy
  15. Dickyboy; i agree with your descision in this circumstance as it was necessary for the dogs health and wellbeing, not just your convinience. it can stabilise temeraments and calm aggresive dogs down but it does have its downsides which im sure you know already. if you dont want to breed or theyre no good working then its worth considering. in fairness though as far as ive seen it usually does affect working ability, ie lowering drive, but this isnt always the case, im sure with the right encouragement a neutered pup will be a fine worker.
  16. now heres a thing to tell the grandkids. as a favour to friends and locals i control their rats, mice, rabbits etc and pride myself on the fact that they never EVER come back once ive dealt with them. bollocks to that im sure you've guessed...ive got rats! in my fecking garage! as soon as i saw the first i got my little retriever bitch in to sort 'em out, all i did was move a few boxes and an old fridge and within a few minutes we had three. came back later in the evening and have had another two. some pics, couldnt take pics whilst catching, but some of my bitch with her prizes. shes ver
  17. both of you; mr shitter and ms bitch have valid points. i think that something has been lost in translation here. LB, you have dealt and rescued dogs on a daily basis, no? all of whom would not have suffered or been abandoned etc had their parents' owners had them done. i take it that your view on this is that many, many dogs have suffered because of owners not getting their pets done and this is definately cruelty. i see your point and its a goodun. i think what you missed in DS's point was that we are talking about these dogs being in a stable, supported home situation with a responsibl
  18. my JRT (now retired) has been a menace around other dogs all her life, she never bothers to go meet new dogs, doesnt mind being in any dogs company but if a dog so much as growls at her she kicks off and latches herself to their face or neck and IMO shes a fiesty dog. same as my boxer. loves fighting, fortunately gets a thrashing most times though.
  19. i like abit of cushion for my pushin' but never a fatty
  20. well done mate, you've served the cause well if the many dogs you've helped/saved could talk, we all know what they'd be saying
