  1. To be fair Dave it wasn't a miss just the fox dodged the bullet ?
  2. I hate missing foxes even though this time I had no control over it ..?
  3. Well on my way home now with the lip on. Just called a fox which screamed in lovely to around 90 yds , just as I steadied myself on its bib and squeezed off the round it moved to the right which resulted in a miss ?????? I am devastated to say the least.???????
  4. That's weird wor lass also shouts spider and the terrier comes and eats them.?
  5. We are quite lucky on our shoot holding 4 or 5 coveys last season. Saw a big covey the other day of around 20 birds .
  6. No luck yet but only just started looking , finished at end of September.
  7. It's a proven fact that Northerners are more friendly than Southerners hence most companies situated their call centres up North.I had a mate who moved up here from Essex and he couldnt believe that complete strangers would talk to him , he said that never happened down South ....
  8. Just popped up shoot with my pup who turned 1 this week just to fire a few shots near him for the 1st time , glad to say he never batted an eyelid ?
  9. Top night SL ? love the eye popper on the bale.
  10. Great stuff , used to love the ferretting but haven't had a day out in years. Might have some days available if your interested.
  11. Picked up a new permission for rabbits about 6 weeks ago but unable to contact farmer so headed out to see another farmer to contact him for me which he did. Spoke to him and said should be ok to go in a couple of weeks ? So I headed out with my .22 in search of bunnies not expecting much as I've hit this farm quite hard. The dreaded myxy has reared its ugly head , put this poor soul out of its misery , what a wretched disease.. Did a couple of hours before dark and a couple after ending on 28 so not too bad.
  12. Just been up the shoot myself and the birds are ranging well now but still coming back to the pen , lifted a nice covey of 10 greys next to the pen too so looks like a good year for the partridges. I sat out up the valley watching the barn owls and red kite just in case a fox showed but instead this little guy popped out , very skinny , a good cull beast. ?
  13. Well done Stav , I have also been on fox patrol at a sheep farm. No calling just spotted this dog fox in some rushes and lip squeaked him in nicely to around eighty yds ??
  14. Aye good fun. Used to get loads from walls with my terrier marking , good old days. ?
  15. Not woodga but I used to do a lot with him years ago.
  16. Here is the knitting needle you mentioned ?
  17. I will let him know about the 34gn pellets. Cheers , will let you know how he gets on once the coppers get their finger out ?
  18. Hes getting .25 and wants to push it to 200 yds as been watching the guys in South Africa doing it. He said it will still be doing around 28 ft/LB at 200 yds so still enough energy for a rabbit. Cant wait to see it perform.
  19. I've got .22 and HMR and if had to choose one it would be the .22 definitely. My mate has an FX Crown sitting in the gunshop at present waiting for his FAC back , it's running at 72 ft/lb so will be interesting to see how it performs as he will be pushing it to the limit. What is your impact running at and what ranges can you comfortably take rabbits.
  20. Wouldnt be without mine , always had one , very versatile. Anything from rats to foxes ?Get one you wont regret it ?
  21. Yep I'm afraid your wasting your breath with these people. Lost count the amount of times I've spoken to dog walkers about roaming where they shouldn't for their own safety as I'm out with the rifle. Fact of life I'm afraid.
