Great advice. I bought the bag too as you can keep spare batteries etc in it. I also use my bag to place the caller off the ground. Another tip I keep a carrier bag in the carry bag also in case it starts raining as dont want water getting in the caller and damaging it , remote works fine with caller inside carrier bag. Have fun you will not be disappointed but foxes are in for a shock ?

Just seen this , you will enjoy playing with it. Let us know how you get on.

Foxpro will definitely do the job for you , have you not got it yet ? Out of the 8 I shot 7 were called in using the Foxpro ?
-
Fantastic job mate , really like that ?
-
Unfortunately not mate , I had it loaded onto my Foxpro by someone else.

Honestly it works , some people get too tied up with this train of thought. I like to make things happen , if your 1st call isn't producing just mix it up . I have seen me calling for ages then just change call and immediately there's a fox , I think it's just a matter of finding which call they like on the night. I mean vixen mating call last night produced a vixen .....territorial reaction. I use the cub call all year round even when there are no cubs and it is the call which produces the best results. Try it and let us now how you get on.?

I saw a raccoon in Northumberland walking down the side of the road when coming back from Scotland one night. I actually pulled over and it walked past my car not 3 feet away. The next evening it was on the North East news in someone's garden , apparently it had escaped from the local police wildlife officers place. ?

No mate , I like to mix it up . A mixture of cub call , jackrabbit distress , and even 1 to vixen mating call. If a call produces nothing I switch to another and then another , works for me ?

Yesterday saw me travelling to the Scottish Borders in search of Reynard. It was windy in the afternoon and saw nothing mooching so set caller up next to some gorse. Played cub call and within 5 secs a fox came screaming from cover , just as I got it in my sights and squeezed off it moved causing me to arse end it ? I couldn't manage to get a second shot off before it reached cover , I searched for ages in the gorse but to no avail ? Off out lamping and it was perfect , pitch black and a bit of a breeze. 1st stand shot 4 , 2nd stand shot 1 ,went back to 1st stand and shot another , last stand

Ok mate sounds good just let me know. The rut is just about to start ?
-
Did it say which part of country they took 240 ? If Yorkshire Dale's not too hard to achieve. I remember in the 90s in the Scottish Borders lamping , shot 213 in a few hours then stopped as got boring , if stayed out all night could have been 500 + but didnt want that many as couldn't shift them.
-
Do you have traditional rutting stands on your ground SL.

I dont know you Jimmy but my heart goes out to you , I cant begin to imagine what you are going through. I have a daughter too and couldn't cope if she was I'll like your daughter. I am fighting back the tears as I read this, truly heartbreaking.

Yep , fresh as a daisy.

Just had the pup out for a walk round the shoot and he found a freshly killed hen. Rang the farmer and he said he only had 2 and they were there at 4pm , I said well you've only got 1 now. So a fox has turned up and needs sorting .

My favourite season is Spring , the rebirth of everything. I was out for some rabbits last night even though the weather conditions weren't good , pretty light and not a breath of wind. Anyway I shot a hare and left it at a gate to pick it up once I had done the high ground. On my descent down the hill I went to pick up the hare and discovered Mrs Tiggywinkles feeding on it. This is the 2nd time I have seen this , on the first occasion I caught a hedgehog feeding on one of my rabbits.

+1 ?

Yes mate the Geordie people are very friendly, probably friendliest in the country. I just meant I hate cities as they are full of vermin and weirdos. Where in the Toon did you work ?
-
Feck me RSPCA must have had a drop off mate. See any big cats when you were out ??
-
Dont believe they are out there as no real evidence. When you think that there are keepers and shooters out every night of the week with thermal and nv they would be seen and shot. Cameras everywhere and hounds out drawing ground how come there is no evidence , tell you why because they ain't there. ?
-
You can only shoot them if they are there , if you shoot 100 it means theres plenty. If you only shoot 1 then why are you shooting them ?
-
I feel your pain , Newcastle is a shithole full of people and every sort of scum you could wish to meet. I worked there for a lot of years and hate the place , give me the countryside any time. We have just been issued tighter restrictions in the Noŕth East so it's off out rabbitting tonight ?
-
I dont shoot for cash , mine are used as dog food or fox bait.
