  1. Hi, Fallow. You've said in a previous post that you've been deer stalking before. I can only assume that you were useing something with rather more kick than any airgun will produce so you've really got nothing to worry about. Have you been on here before? Your posts seem somehow familiar... Cheers Edit.... Ah, Lurcherlass. Makes sense now. Didn't read that properly
  2. Yes that looks the same mate, cheers do you reckon you can get an uprated spring for them as thats pretty low powered..cheers.... Not really, mate, they are what they are. A nice basic target trainer and plinker and that's about it. If you need a bit more poke you'd best look at something else. Webley Tempest or a BSA Scorpion may be a better bet and after thinking about what I said about the Gamo's power, TBH I was probably giving it more power than it will do. I'd say 2 at best.
  3. Take the lamp off your gun's scope, Mole, that will not solve your problem. Do a zero check with the lamp off as normal, then try it again with the lamp mounted ANYWHERE on your springer and see the difference. You mustn't go out after live quarry after you've changed anything without testing it first!!!
  4. Hi, mate. Is this the one by any chance??? http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=24255&cat=Falcon+Pistol They're a good little pistol but not very pokey, about 2 to 2.5 ft-lbs. Cheers. Edit to add.... I know it says ASI but they were made by Gamo. Same pistol.
  5. Hey, Si. You really had to pull the vid 'cos of threats?? FFS, what the feck's this country come to now?? I'm not ex military but I have many friends who are either searving or ex searving and they've all got total respect from me. My Dad lost two brothers in WW2 fighting for our rights, so what the hell did they and all the other brave souls that have given their lives for us fight for???? What a crying shame, it makes me ashamed of what my country has come to.... Gents, my hat is off to you and I for one would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for at least trying to k
  6. Lovely gear as always, Rob I'm still saving my pennie's, mate!!
  7. It does seem to be a bit random sometimes as to where folks post things with not only new members but also regulars who aren't sure where to post topics.... I put up a post a little while back that was both a story about a trip out but also had a technical issue, so where do I put it? Technical or general or banter??? The banter/discussion and general section seemed to have merged into one anyway, with most folks useing the general section for their posts. I think bringing the general and banter sections together would be good as banter can always be a factor in any thread and if folk
  8. If the winds blowing from DIRECTLY behind you (or in front), it really won't make much difference at all but as Ste's already said, you really need still conitions to set it all up properly. Also 100 or so shots is nowhere near enough shots for your HW to have bedded in properly, it will have settled a bit by now but it won't be until you're at the end of your third tin that it will have totally bedded down. Cheers.
  9. I use a Led Lenser H7 with a Cree 150 Lumens bulb. It has adjustable strength and beam width, it's very light and comfy to wear and I'll easily get at least a couple of full nights on a set of 3 AAA's. I've had it for about three years and I really can't fault it. £40 from ebay. Edit to say... I hope your Mrs gets well soon
  10. Why do I have to re zero? Sorry If I am just strapping the torch to the barrel I can't see why, I mean that means I would have to re zero every time I reload. Unless you think the weight will affect the recoil! Of course! Time to get my mechanics head lamp out! Yes, the weight will change the way the gun recoils so your POI will change. I've even known springers with gun mounted lamps to need a re zero after a different brand of batterie's been used, they really can be that fussy.
  11. Don't forget that if you're fitting a lamp to a springer, you'll have to re zero each time you take it on and off the gun. You may be better off with a good head torch
  12. Hi, mate. Even with a 'recoilless' PCP there is still a small amount and that causes the muzzle to rise a tiny bit when you fire. I bet if you weigh the silencers you'll find the HW one weighs slightly more than the BSA hence the muzzle will raise less with more weight on the end. Hope that makes sense. Cheers.
  13. It's a funny old place this internet thing, ain't it?? I know what you mean, Si, it's easy to post a reply that can be taken out of context sometimes. I'll get the hang of this forum thing one day.... Cheers
  14. Bloody hell, mate, that must've been one hell of a relief for you!! I've a long term shoulder problem that's not even in my shoulder, I've a trapped nerve bundle between my 2nd and 3rd vertibras (spelling.. ) that makes it feel like I've been stabbed through the back when I put my head in a certain position.... Funny how the body works sometimes Enjoy your whisky and your day out tommorow Cheers.
  15. Same goes for me, Wurz, in principle I'd love to do something like that and my boys would love it too. Ah well, if business pick up we'd be well up for that, mate. Cheers
  16. Airsporter all day long, mate You'll have no problems with spare parts and they're a good solid old gun. Those old Relums were a bit ropey to say the least, very much made on the cheap but lots of folks have fond memories of them as many had them as a first gun. They can be improved but TBH, why bother? You can't polish a turd On both guns, check that the loading tap still seals OK, cock the gun with the tap closed, then open the tap and slowly de-cock the gun. If there's little or no air resistance as the piston goes back, there's trouble. May be the piston seal that's gone but the
  17. Easter House in Glasgow. Feck me that place is rough and Whitehaven, what a miserable dump
  18. Feckin' wonderful At least no one was badly hurt, thank god.
  19. ive got an AAs410 carbine but i was just want a pistol that a can kill rats we through summer at close range because im not botherd if it gets a bit tatty were i would be if my s410 did if you know what i mean. :/ look for a secondhand Crosman 2240, great little pistol, quiet, as gas powered, easy to reload, plenty about so look for one secondhand, quite a few shops sell them! Quiet??? They crack like an un silenced RF, FFS!!!!
  20. I'm interested... Sorry Squirrel mate. I've had a think about this,,, My .177 TX200HC is a mint condition, wicked shooting rifle, in bone dry heat or soaking in the rain and the scope is a cracker too so, I'm withdrawing it from any potential sale as I'd be losing more than a dear field companion. I would rather starve than let her, or any of my other rifles go. Shooting is what I live for mate. You understand Cheers Simon
  21. Andy was this post aimed at me by any chance buddy? If so why? Si No, Si, it wasn't. It was ment as a joke. I was just making the point that any one of a good few members could've answered the OP's question. I can see the bloke's a new member of THL and I can see he's clearly seen some of your vids and stuff and is impressed with what he's seen and rightly so As I've already posted a link to what you and some of the other guys have already said on this subject above, I'd like to think I've helped the OP out in some way....?? Cheers
  22. Maybe he'll have a cunning plan....
  23. Don't worry about it, mate. Have a look here..... http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/190630-which-177-for-hunting/
