  1. Be careful with that one, mate. Without knowing what his terms of rent are, he may well have the rights to shooting too. just saying
  2. Done. This government's a f*****g joke
  3. I agree with all the above but what's most important is what suits your own rifle the best. Only you can find that out, which can be an expensive pain in the arse but that's just how it is. Just to add another into the mix, RWS Superdomes tend to work well in most barrels.
  4. It sounds like the work's mot been done properly. Either it's been over sprung with some daft Titan or Ox and/or the piston washer, which I'm pretty sure is leather on those has not been de-greased and re-lubed properly.
  5. This compromise thing always comes up when .20's mentioned. It's like saying .22 is a compromise between .20 and .25. It's just different, that's all and most pellets weigh closer to .22 so in practice it's much closer to that to use. My 90 favors FTTs which tip in at just under 11.5 grains which suits me just fine. Much flatter to shoot than a .22 and a little more forgiving than .177 if my aims less than spot on.
  6. Probably not, you can't polish a turd!! Just kidding, Davy knows what he's doing Down tuning's the way to go with stuff like that. Keep them sweet for juniors to use, or close range pest control
  7. Thank you for the very kind offer! I would love that some time as iv been thinking about a tuned hw80 or hw95k for some time but im allways skint too but even tho the funds arnt there the enthusiasm still is! My work pattern is all over but when i next have some time off i would love to have a go thank you! If it was me, given the choice between a brand new HW or an older West German built one, I'd go for used every time. Yes, it may need a few quid spending on it to get it up to scratch but it'll be the better tool in the end. That's assuming it's not totally fecked to start with!!
  8. If I remember rightly you're not too far away from me Tom. I'm fixing up an old action of my own that was kindly given to me by Pianoman. It's a way from being finished as I'm pretty bloody skint at the moment but you're welcome to have a go when it's done. In the meantime though, if you'd like to try my own tuned and smoothed HW90 then give me a shout. It's the sweetest springer you'll ever shoot, I promise you that.
  9. I'm really glad you're happy with it, Wurz. It's a nice old action you've got there, it didn't take much work to sort out the few rough edges here and there. Enjoy!!!!
  10. As above. The Diana's will give a reliable 30 plus ft-lbs in .22 and still shoot very nicely. The 's a decent gun up to around 20 ft-lbs but it's not a patch on the Diana's, in my opinion at FAC levels. Edit to add.... The Pro Sport's a lovely rifle but at anything much more than around 16 it turns in to a total dog to to shoot, so there's really no point. Keep it sub 12 and enjoy it
  11. Give it a go, mate. I changed to .20 as my main caliber a few years back and I'm very glad I did. I wouldn't go back to either .177 of .22 now. There's plenty of ammo if you look online although most gun shops do have a pretty poor choice.
  12. Price sounds right enough but as above, at least get the lad to take the spring out first. Only takes five minutes and could save you a lot of grief.
  13. Davy?? Drunk and foolish at a meet??!! f**k off!!!!! LOL!!!! I'm happy that you're pleased with it, Wurz.
  14. Bait mink with cheap stinky cat food. Works a treat
  15. I know, Mary. Sorry for my little outburst last night. It just spiked me after a very bad few days. What goes round comes round and all that
  16. Andy, with you due respect, you have said this kind of thing before, only to discover it's a Graham scam... I know. I'm just sick and tired on logging on here and reading the same old shit time and time again. If it is, then fair do's. It just really hacks me off that this keeps on coming around and around. f*****g internet does my head in, this is meant to be a place where folks share stuff and help folks out, I know you guys are on a quest and that's fair enough, good luck with it. You've probably caught me on a very bad day. Edit to add... Sorry.
  17. As above. If it's fogging on the inside then it's let water in at some point and the colder weather's causing condensation to build up. If it's under warranty, then send it back. Otherwise just save it for the summer or bin it.
  18. Go on then, Simon. How nice is my 90 to shoot with, really???
  19. Just get a 90 and have done with it. If retro kits leak, they can't be topped up.
  20. Just get a spring and matching guide from Sandwell. I'll do the rest. A breach seal and piston seal won't hurt if it's a few years old.
  21. I did a service on a TX200 not so long ago that had never before been stripped and there was no lube at all in the thing. It twanged like a Spanish BSA!!
  22. Hi, Dean. It's a bit of a difficult one this. I'm not an RFD, I'm just a bloke who's worked as a gunsmith many years ago and now enjoys tinkering with my own guns and I look after Simon's and a few other friend's guns too. What I will say is that if you can get yourself, your rifle and a service kit over to me in Leeds, I'll do it for you while you're with me, set it up over the chrono and you can treat me to a pint afterwards. It'll take a couple of hours at the most, all being well.
