    bloody hell andy i phoned chambers where i bought the really expensive fcukin washer and specifically asked should i use SILICONE oil and was told definitely no i had to use thin engine oil WTF !!!! so now what should i do mate ? If I said ignore Chambers, who have been doing this for donkeys, sold you the part, and have a bigger selection of air rifle parts than probably anyone in the world, and told you to soak it in dog piss, then who would you believe? i'd definitely leave the dog piss out, but i'd believe andy, as he worked in the gun trade and has a very good reputation on

    Don't use engine oil!!!! You need to soak it in a pure silicon oil. It'll diesel like feck otherwise.

    Some lovely and interesting rifles on this thread but to answer the OP's original question, the Webley Omega takes some beating when it's set up right.

    As Garfield's said, any thing above around 16 and they turn into a total dog to shoot. If you want FAC springer then look at the Diana side levers. There's none better. I had a 52 in .22 on ticket many moons ago that shot beautifully at 32 with no more recoil than most sub 12 springers. Highly recomended.

    What a pair of total twats It seems that the test subjects are indeed running the experiment Don't feel bad, Si. It's no way your fault and you should be proud of all the effort that you and all the others have put in. I may know a land owner who might be up for this but it would be tents in a field with no other facilities but it is a beautiful setting well away from anyone else. It's near Weatherby in West Yorkshire and only five minutes drive from the A1. I'll have a word with him first chance I get and let you know what the score is

    A bit of rust on the outside and the odd knock here and there won't affect the way it shoots if all else is well. For what you've paid it's more than well worth spending a few quid on to bring it back up to speck.

    That'll sort it's balance out for you, Simon, and also correct it's trigger reach issue. The stock that's on it now feels like it's set for a junior or a lass, the pistol grip's far too small, not the right fit at all. Nice one, Elliott.

    I'm glad it's doing well, Simon. Mags were my 90's favourite pellet when it had it's .177 barrel fitted. Just give me a shout when you want it fettling and I'll sort it out for you. There's no point in having the gun done twice, mate. Save yourself some cash.

    Don't f**k about with different pellet shapes, just find out what brand suits you rifle best and stick with that. As above though, if over penetration's an issue with regards to property, I've had decent results with Super H Points in the past or just try a quality flat head.
