  1. Below is a link to my web site, some of you will have seen this before and it's a project that I've been developing for quite some time now but there's been a lot of changes recently and this is the very nearly finished product. There's a few tweaks here and there to be done I know but it's up and running and ready to roll. If you've a minute then please have a look, I'd really like to know what people on here think about it but if you're easily offended then don't bother Thanks for your time http://www.sick-cards.com/
  2. I'd have to agree, mate. Their new springers, from what I've seen are not a patch on their older ones. Gone to hell in a hand cart, and all that.
  3. Theoben never actually made the rams, they were subbed out to a company called AWT who also make the rams for HW. Interesting point though, I hope they stay with a UK based company and not switch to the lowest bidder making second rate parts.....
  4. Like a Fenman???? No, not really The 90's really little more than a re-engineered to accept the gas ram system. Same sort of weight, size and feel. Same top notch trigger, only no twangs and vibes and no need to worry about leaving the thing cocked for too long. I love the 's, I really do, I've owned two and shot with many others and I'm really looking forward to setting up the action you gave me but the simple fact is that the 90's a better rifle. So ner-ner-na-ner-ner Not wishing to sound childish or anything Edit to add..... Give me a ring, we need to go out and shoot some shit
  5. I got a Beeman 2004e for me and my boys a little while back and I can't recomend one highly enough. My youngest's 10 and he can manage to cock and shoot the thing fine. A really nice and reasonably powerful pistol and the accuracy has surprised me. £65 brand new.
  6. Cracking footage again Do they do those in .20? I'd like to try some if they do
  7. I'm about to do some work for one of the regulars on here on his HW80 and Hobbies are the pellet that I'll be using to set it up on the chrono with. In my experience the tend to give pretty much the highest readings in most springers. As for which is best for yours only you can find that out, Scot.
  8. As above, the Rapids really take some beating as a reliable tool if you want a PCP. If you're looking at springers, the Diana 52 range are pretty unbeatable and shoot very well indeed up to around 30ft-lbs in .22.
  9. From what you've said, Chris, I'd guess it's probably more down to the optics used rather than the magnification. The 4x40 which I guess was supplied on the gun won't have been exactly good quality glass. A shit scope is a shit scope, regardless of what numbers it's got written on it and a good low mag scope can be a very nice thing to use indeed.
  10. The Ratty's a low powered short range gun and an under rated one too IMO.10x on pretty much any sporting rifle is heading up towards the high end of things mag wise. A 4x scope on that type of rifle is more than enough and if most folks are honest with themselves 4x is more than adequate for most peoples field use. Airgun or otherwise. Just my opinion, mate, and I'm sorry if I sounded abrupt Edit to add.... Sorry to the OP for going rather off topic
  11. What's all this 10x mag on a ratty???? I've read some daft replies before on here but feck me.....
  12. No worries, mate. I'm just glad you got it sorted
  13. The only near death experiences I've had, I've been lucky enough to walk away from Glad to hear you're on the mend
  14. Hi, mate. Duck oil and the like are way too thin and are solvent rich and this will wash out whatever lube was in there to start with. Get some proper lube in there ASAP from a gun shop or compressed gas supplier for rubber 'o' ring seals and it should get things back to normal. Just two or three drops should do the trick, don't go mad with it!!
  15. Buy used A few scratches on the stock and a bit of rust here and there won't affect the way the gun shoots so long as the mechanicals are OK and even if they're not 100% a service kit won't break the bank for a springer if the gun's otherwise sound. Just stick to Air Arms or pretty much anything German and you won't go too far wrong so long as the gun 'feels' right to you.
  16. I bought one of these a little while back for me and my boys and I'm more than very pleased with it. I wasn't expecting much for the price though but it really is a little cracker. As accurate as anyone could reasonably want or need, nice predictable trigger and a fair bit more poke than I expected, between 2.9 and 3.2 ft-lbs over my chrono depending on pellet so plenty enough for plinking. Deffo a big thumbs up from me!!
  17. Nice bit of footage there, Si Do you remember when you came over to Simon's and we were shooting pennies at that range with our springers? Simon with his 77 and me with my Diana 52? (both fettled by me ) I've always said that a good springer when used correctly is as good as any PCP and you've helped to prove the point. Nicely done, mate
  18. Bloody hell, Darryl, that's harsh but there by the grace of god go so many of us. Fair play to you for posting this up, it may just make some folks think a little bit more before jumping in. I just hope you and your's are OK after all this. Shit happens sometimes, even for the best of folks
  19. Give me a shout soon. Be good to have a catch up
  20. I'll check your's the next time we meet up, Simon. They don't tent to use different barrel blanks for different models though
  21. Just to add.... I've cut and re-crowned HW break barrels down to the lengths I mentioned quite a few times with no loss in accuracy. Although to be fair, that tended to be done with other work too.
