  1. I'll be well up for a copy of this once I can stop being skint.
  2. HW90, mate. Smooth as silk, build second to none, first class trigger and much nicer to shoot than Theoben's own rifles. They're the best break barrel you can get, in my opinion. Welcome to the section.
  3. Davy...... Archie.... WTF is it exacly that you do?? PM me?? Don't keep an idiot on suspense!!
  4. This seems to be getting a little out of hand and if Craig's reading this I'll bet he's laughing his cock off!! To those folks that haven't been on here too long you've got to realise that this can be a pretty irreverent forum sometimes and also know that a lot of the regulars do know each other outside of the internet, so sometimes the banter may seem a little OTT but it's only like mates having a laugh over a pint or two.
  5. All good advice above but if you can, also have a look at the Diana side levers.
  6. Second hand HW80. From your list though, 35 if weight's not an issue or 99 if it is. Forget the others.
  7. After that many shots it should be well and truly settled by now. If the accuracy's gone to pot then it probably rules out a dodgy chrono assuming that it shot well with the same pellets before, so the next likely culprit is either the breach or piston seal.
  8. That is a pretty big variation. What was it like before the service? Bear in mind though that it will take some time before it fully settles down after major surgery. Give it a couple of hundred shots minimum then check again.
  9. Thanks, Simon. To be fair, It was a good one to to start with. Pretty much everything was a good snug fit with everything else so it didn't need much fettling to get the best out of it. Nice rifle, that one!
  10. 11.8 and 'next to no recoil' in .177? That's a rare Mk6 you've got there.
  11. Cracking thread, I've not kept up on this one. Top class shooting there, Elliott And the stock you sent to Simon works beautifully on his 97, a much better fit and feel than the thumbhole stock it came with which felt like it was made for much smaller hands than us two clots! Simon's 97's still living at my house awaiting the tuning kit to arrive. I'll post a review as best as I can about how it all goes once it's all fitted and sorted to his gun. Cheers.
  12. A friend of mine has just done his rifle in this and believe me, it reflects sun light like a mirror. Not impressed. He may as well have been carrying a fully charged light sabre the last time we were out.
  13. To be fair, it was a long time ago and even guns of the same type can shoot differently with the same ammo but looking at some of the poor groups you got reminded me exaxctly of how mine was with most pellets. Give the Crosmans a go, by all means. It'll be interesting to see how they perform through your 52.
  14. Interesting read. My old 52 would only (and I mean only) group properly with the Premiers and god knows, I must have tried every popular brand through it that at the time. Nearly twenty years ago..... The only other pellet I tried that were OK were the old style Ely Wasps but the quality of those has totally gone to pot in recent years which is a real shame.
  15. He's the spitting image of my sadly departed friend's dog. Collin would've been proud to see this.
  16. Thanks for the replys, folks. I'll pass the info on to my friend, I really am pretty clueless about stuff like this. He's seen some golfing ranger in Tescos of all places that may be OK. If it turns out to be anything useful then I'll post back on here. Thanks again
  17. As Tron's said, a total waste of money, IMO. As Acuspell's said, bang on!! I'm going to patent the 'air pole dancer' to compete!! Edit to add... I'd probably best work out a design first.....
  18. Not for me, I'm asking for a mate. Can anyone recomend a useable range finder for not too much cash? Any help greatfully recieved. Cheers.
  19. Just to answer the OP's question. I'm with Moxy on this one. I think about what I may need before I go out and travel light. There's no point in carrying loads of kit around that you probably won't need. Just think about what you're likely to use under whatever conditions you're likely to face and kit yourself up to suite.
  20. Oscar may be with us, I'm not sure yet. I'll see if Paul's up for it, he could do with some instruction, me thinks Give me a call on Friday evening. I'm at a party Saturday night that could turn messy but I'll be OK for Sunday. Coffee and Red Bull will have sorted me out.
  21. Fancy a shoot on Sunday, Simon? Your place or mine?
  22. Simon. Thank you for expanding upon my rather brief phrase of 'sort it's shit out' with regards to a projectile stabalising itself within the barrel. You put it in a much more eloquent and descriptive way than I could.
  23. Just to pick you up on the first point here and I'm only talking about springers as I know feck all about PCPs. The acceleration to the pellet happens within the first five or six inches of the barrel on most guns especially UK spec sub 12. So long as the barrel has properly gripped the head of the pellet upon loading then that's good. The air blast will blow the skirt to size pretty much before the pellet's even begun to move down the barrel so at the low velocities that we shoot with the projectile's had plenty of time to sort it's shit out before it's left the end of the barrel.
  24. Skot!! Simon!! Stop being gay and get out there I've had some really good days out this past few weeks and even my boys have coped with the cold (ish...) weather
  25. Sounds like you know your stuff I'm sure the OX will be fine until it either snaps or collapses. Recent OX (and Titan square section springs) are not a patch on the quality of them from years ago. I remember fitting them to many rifles back in the 80's when they came out and they were very good so long as the rest of the gun was set up to suite. Can't say that these days though, sadly.
