  1. I'd been more than very happy with the Dynamics until a batch I bought a couple of years back ruined my confidence in them. They really did go from pretty much pellet on pellet to six inch groups at 30 yards. As witnessed by Pianoman. It really pissed me off as I went through everthing until it became apparent that is was the pellets that were at fault. I know what you mean though as I also use FTTs and Baracudas and if the barrel wasn't clean before switching then the first twenty or so shots were all over the place.
  2. Thanks for the replys, lads. FTT Green, that's why I couldn't find them. Thanks for that, dtw. I was useing the Dynamics for a good couple of years until I got put off them, Stealthy. A good few thousand went through the 90's barrel with no apparent ill effects. I know tin's a good bit harder than lead but it's still nowhere near as hard as decent quality steel so I can't see there being a long term issue. Hopefully....
  3. Now then, Wurz. I'm using the Loguns at the moment and they're a cracking pellet considering the dodgy geezer I got them from!! lol I can't use them here though, so I'm needing some tin pellets, I guess. I think H and N do a version of the FTTs in tin but I can't seem to find any. How's the 4Q doing? Give it a hug from me!!
  4. Hello, lads. I've hopefully just scored a new permission shooting over a waterway but it's strictly no lead allowed. I've used Dynamics before with good results in .20 with my HW90 but the last batch I had were all over the place and I've lost confidence in them. I can use either ,177 or ,22 so caliber's not an issue so can anyone recomend anything? Is anyone using the Dynamics in these calibers with good results and was I just unlucky with the .20s? Any advice greatfully recieved. Cheers. Edit to add.... I've just realised I've posted this in the wrong section..... ARSE!!!
  5. So learning one rifle's gone out the window then? Nice collection of kit if rather varied. How do you find the .20 95? I have a .20 kitted 90.
  6. I had an old UK built Lightning for a few years that I fitted a ram to. I never had any problems with the ram myself but it didn't really improve the BSA too much overall. It still had a shit trigger but at least the action was smoother to cock and fire. The recoil was a little quicker but I don't see this as being a bad thing. I'm not saying it was harsh and it did at least get rid of the horrble twang that the donkey had before. I'm really not a fan of the Lightning. They were shit when built in the UK and turned to total shite when built by the Spanish. Just sack it off and get some
  7. As most of us did, I started with springers when I was a lad. My Dad was a small arms instructor with the RAF Regiment so I had a good teacher and my first job after I left school was as an apprentice gun smith so I did at least learn the ropes at a young age messing around with other people's guns and getting paid for it. I stuck solely to springers until about six years ago whe I got myself a AA410c. I'd shot with various friends PCPs which must've been pretty much all of the popular ones at the time but the AA just felt the best for me. I loved it. For a while.... After a year or s
  8. It can't hurt to give 'em a wash and going in dry without a little lube's never a good idea
  9. I really hope I can make this one but as per usual it'll be a last minute thing. I'm due to be starting a contract towards the end of this month that will mean me spending most of the summer up in northern Scotland. If I'm back home on the weekend in question then I'll be there for sure. Finger's crossed!!
  10. It's funny but after reading some of his other comments I thought as much. Miles, I've no beef with you and you've no reason to have one with me so please give it a rest. Cheers.
  11. I'm reasonably confident that I've not f****d it up, mate. It's not so much that it's pellet fussy exactly, it's more to do with Simon being a perfectionist.
  12. I'm really not convinced about this 'piston bounce' thing with heavy pellets but then I'm no expert. I've had very good results with the Mags and Baracudas (same thing) with .177 springers. Give them a try if they work Edit to add... I have some Mags that you can try the next time we hook up.
  13. Just to answer the OP's question as best as I can, I probably went a little off track there... I've only had a little to do with Theobens own rifles and I've never had one in bits but from my own experiences the Eliminator is a total dog to shoot. Very harsh and snappy to fire and very hold sensative. The trigger's not as good as it should be for the price but that applies to all the Theoben gas rams I've tried. At one point or another I've used pretty much all of Theobens guns and the only one that really left a good mark on me( other than Rapids, I love those!!) was a mate's SLR as
  14. I'm really pleased that you're happy with the results, Simon. As Scot's already mentioned, have you tried JSBs through it? They tend to be pretty bloody good with HWs. Give me a call soon, mate. We need to get out and you'll love this new permission I told you about. I was there yesterday and Oscar scored himself eight rabbits with the Xocet that was kindly given to my boys by the Moles. Speak soon.
  15. Both the and the 90 will shoot happily enough up to around 20ft-lbs in .22. Any much higher than that and they start to suffer. Badly.... Pros and cons. The 90 will always be smoother to shoot but at higher power levels the recoil's not to everyone's taste. I'm not saying it's bad or harsh but they do go off with quite a snap. Easily managed though with a little practice. At these levels however, they are a lot harder to cock than the steel springed and if weight's an issue then they do tip the scales a little higher. The also has a more gentle (lazy) recoil on FAC when set up correctly
  16. sorry to hijack the thread,i have a shock pump, where can I get the adapters to fit?(also how do you drop power?do you need the pump to do it?) thanks A friend sorted out the adapters, I'll have a word and get back to you. You don't need a pump to drop the power, you just let a very little bit of pressure out buy depressing the valve (one tap at a time) but you will need a chrono to see what's going on and that's when you may need a pump if you've gone too far to top it back up.
  17. Nice one, Mick. Give me a shout anytime. Thanks. Chez, I don't think I can help you with the kit I've got. From what I can gather from the internet the HE ram runs at around 40bar so there's no way that my gear will cope with that. If anyone who's reading this can correct me then please do. If you can get your hands on a pump that will cope with that pressure then I do at least have the adapters that will fit.
  18. I think I may have cocked up here. My pump only goes to 28 bar as that's more than enough for my HW90. From memory the Sirroco 2000 uses the HE ram and that runs at a fair bit higher pressure. I'll do a bit of research and get back to you. Finger's crossed!!
  19. No problem, mate. I'll be over your way anyhow and I'm quite happy to help out. If you can PM me a contact number I'll give you a shout when I'm about. Thinking about it, it'll most likely be late Sunday afternoon as I'll be dropping my boys back with their mum in Otley at five so I can call in on my way back.
  20. hi mate that would be great if you could im in rawdon near the airport? were are you mate?? I'm East Leeds but my Dad lives in Horsforth and I'll most probably be over there at the weekend so maybe I could come round with my chrono and the pump and set the thing up for you. Exactly what rifle do you have?
  21. Local gun shops for run of the mill stuff but as has been already mentioned, not many stock much in the way of .20 so a dig around on ebay for the best deal and buy five or ten tins at a time.
  22. I've just noticed you're also in Leeds. Where about are you? Maybe I can help.
  23. No, mate. You'll end up in hospital if you try that!! Get youself a bicycle shock pump and the correct adapters. Me and a mate knocked one up this way for a fraction of the price of Theoben's rip-off job.
  24. As Dean R's said, unless it's an export spec then you'll be fine. It's the Eliminator that was FAC only but as has already been said, if you're not sure, get it checked.
