    i have both a mk 1 rapid 7 and a mk 2 rapid all though lovely guns to shoot the magazine in my opinion lets them down just to fussy slide the cover the wrong way and the spring in the mag unwinds this is a problem which should be addressed imo, unlike the air arms s410 i have which can be loaded easily even in pitch darkness i now have the s510 as well and i mainly use these when out on rabbit hunts unless i need the extra shot capacity of the mk 1 and mk2 rapids mini rant over

    only after the frosts have softened the stems i have been unfortunate enough to see a dog blinded by stems while running them shortly after they have been swathed i would not think about putting my dog onto a field with thousands of potential spears for a rabbit or other quarry but some lads do and will at the end of the day its up to the individual

    some times dogs do the strangest things for no apparent reason next time you take him to the park keep him on the lead and you know you wont have a problem with him running off and possibly being killed by a car better safe than sorry . when he,s mended take him out for a mooch away from built up places and he most probably will be ok

    The keeper that taught me how to snare a little while ago told me to always aim to break the rabbits neck when you're snaring. well that speaks volumes because the keeper that taught you does not know how to snare either ill say it again THERE IS NO SNARE THAT BREAKS THE NECK OF A CAUGHT ANIMAL .iv snared a good few thousand rabbits and a fair old number of foxes and never ever have i had one with a broken neck ,it can sometimes be a job dislocating a neck on a big rabbit with your hands never mind a snare

    NOT ALLWAYS MATE A SNARE IS NOT DESIGNED TO BREAK A RABBITS NECK ,THEY ARE DESIGNED TO ASPHIXIATE THE ANIMAL WHEN IT FIGHTS THE WIRE IF THE STAY STILL THEY ARE NEARLY ALLWAYS ALIVE UNLESS CAUGHT UP AROUND A FENCE OR SOME SUCH ENTANGLE MENT SITUATION

    those rabbits were caught in peg snares complete with tealers i beleive we caught 67 rabbits that night only last season ratcherman had his first outing on the snares and on that occasion we snared 86 rabbits in under 24 hours using NEW SHINEY snares

    the fox was neck snared .the stop is set at 9 inches from the eyelet all though the fox had wrapped around the trunks of the thorn tree the stop had not not allowed the snare to close and asphixiate the fox the eyelets i make myself and are free running and allow a loaded snare to fire off really fast as soon as the snare is bumped closing onto the neck this type of snare set up allows for more catches and is what glennn, p@g and myself use all the time and they work

    well its been a while since iv had a post so today saw me checking the fox snares at first light i had a nice dog fox who wasnt very happy at all .he had been entering through some thorn trees and coming under a steel fence and had killed a few hens in some allotments so he had to go i set the wires yesterday and had him this morning one angry fox . i have another wire set near by and may yet pick up another a nice discreet set just waiting so far this week we have had six foxes pleased dont ask how do you dispatch the foxes again it does get boring after the first 50 or so times

    YOU CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF SHOOTING LOW FAIRLY SIMPLY BY TAKING OFF THE SCOPE FROM THE MOUNTS AND USE A THIN SHIM UNDER THE REAR MOUNT DIRECTLY UNDER THE SCOPE TUBE WHERE IT SITS IN THE MOUNT THIS WILL MAKE YOUR SCOPE SHOOT HIGHER WHEN YO PUT THE MOUNT CAPS BACK ON IF YOU WERE FIRING HIGH YOU WOULD REPEAT THE PROCESS IN REVERSE PUTTING THE SHIM UNDER THE FRONT MOUNT, THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE OF THE PRISM EFFECT BUT IT WIL SORT OUT YOUR PROBLEM

    im goin to try that, thanks that is the cause your pods have not been pollinated another way is to use a rabbits tail and brush it against the flower heads. use can use the same tecnique when pollinating tomatoes

    save your money and invest in a light force 170 or blitz you may have to alter the wiring after a while but the beam is fantastic

    the responsibility of hand tame ferrets lies soley with the owners if at the beginning of their ferrets lives at the age of say 9 weeks they are handled and played with every day you will get steady hand tame ferrets. the time has to be put into making them as friendly as you can by constant pleasant contact it takes time but the end result is worth the effort there is nothing worse than a biting ferret to spoil a days ferreting especially when digging is involved its un called for and un necessary. i have 12 hobs and all are what i would call tame but will kill a rabbit in seconds given the c

    moles have no clear legislation or must have guide line,s about traps or trapping methods ,we all know that certain poisons are now banned from use though.
