  1. well as all the lower lying farms are now starting to produce young rabbits of varying ages we decided to go up into the hills on the cheviots we have found here that we can get an extra 6 weeks ferreting as the rabbits are so high up the mountain well when we arrived we got a nice welcome off the land owner and were told he had just bought another 1,400 acres and would i do that as well right off up the hill in the motor then the weather looked bleak we had wind gale force sleet snow and heavy rain we called it a day at 12 noon 25 big rabbits seventeen does and not one
  2. fen lander cant you read this was for pest control foxhunter is no novice [bANNED TEXT] he was invited on this shoot and wanted to see what it was like he accounted for 11 hares himself there is no way this land can be dogged because its an island 9 miles long only part of it is shot over and there are still hundreds of hares left the farmer gets all the hares which are shot and also gets paid by the guns for the days shoot this farmer grows mainly cereal crops and these hares have to be shot as there is no other means of control it only takes four hares to eat as much as one sheep so 177 ha

  4. hello woodgas my nick name im into all feild sports have twenty ferrets between my [bANNED TEXT] and me various guns of all calibers at the moment i have three terriers awiting another lurcher due to un forseen accident as well as being obbssesed with snares of all types goodhunting all woodga :ph34r:
  5. fair play [bANNED TEXT] i know you only went for the first time this year but as said before this was pest control and the main aim here was to thin out numbers this is where guns come into it ther have been days on this shoot where in excess of 200 hares have been shot so as you can see there is a serious problem here foxhunter is not the villian here only a means to an end good hunting all woodga :ph34r: ps it would be great though if only you could run them with the dog still we can dream :whistle:

  7. the day started well with a few setts having 2 rabbits at home my [bANNED TEXT] netted a 5 holer caught a couple then things went quiet he found a bolt hole on the bank side around 20 yrds from the main holes he shouted to me and said that he thought the ferret was wandering somewhere any way he went back and checked a few setts along the bank side and found the ferret around 50 yrds further along the bank and he was very lucky to get his ferret back these pic shows a few of the ones that hit the nets this robin followed us all day and

  9. well its nearly twelve months, the pups are coming on great, they have had loads of rats, rabbits and other things . heres some pics to show how they getting on the black pup , a right nasty little get the merle, another bad tempered begger like his dad and heres all three the mother and two pups good hunting all woodga :ph34r:
  10. went out last night with rob sharpe and millet .millet had his dog ben. Rob had millets other dog sam and i had my dog nettle.there was nearly a full moon but we just wanted to run the dogs a few times and have a bit of sport this is nettle with a few of the ones she took cleanly out of there seats shes getting better each time i have her out this is the dogs having a well deserved rest ben and nettle this is rob showing the dogs how to retrieve <>< he gets worse rob with a pic of the final bag 25 rabbits another to

  12. right most of my ferreting has been on open pasture land but i was told to ferret a pine wood to thin down the rabbits that were hammering a rape feild as you can see the trees are low to the ground so most of the netting was done on hands and knees my [bANNED TEXT] with a few of the ones that bolted we had a vistor for most of the day very nosey he was to we ended the sesion with 45 big healthy rabbits good hunting all woodga :ph43r:
  13. i had a few fence wires set a long the edge of awood iset them on saturday sunday morning when i got there it was freezing and this is what we saw it was white with a covering of snow but we still got a few bloody cold on the fingers getting them out the wires another one to me and not the fox .I wonder who said that although it was freezing we still got 37 from the snares not bad considering good huting all woodga :ph34r:
  14. we had six collard ferrets to ground ecellentsett to run the long nets around thats when long nets come into ther ownmoley uses them and short stop nets all the time with good results goodhunting woodga :ph34r:
  15. was invited for a days ferreting with moley on the north york moors, also invited was young smudge, keeps ladie, when we got to the moor we split up, me with smudge and my terrier, moley went off on his own with the lurcher and ferrets, heres a few pics of the day, the view was outstanding although it was a bit windy. heres young smudge coping with a rabbit thats just hit the net here he is again digging his first rabbit after all you have to show them the ropes anyway he's younger then me. and here he is catching his first black rabbit, excuse the look on his f
  16. this shows a good run under the a1 motor way this particular run has accounted for 4 foxes in under two weeks this is the result your after one less rabbit stealer this vixen paid the price both these foxes were caught less than 50 yards apart on the same night snares are deadly when used correctly i check mine morning and nite as they are set local to me good hunting all woodga :ph34r:
