    I'm OFF

Hi guys, I have just got off the phone with Joey (Wuzzy) after a long chat. He is one of my close friends and a top hunting partner, someone that we should all look up to and take time to learn something from no matter how experienced we think we all are. I’m not going to steal his thunder, but I think that very soon there may be some good news coming our way on this forum from him when his pc allows him to log back on to the Hunting Life. Fingers crossed Zini
  2. Hi all, I found this link today while browsing the net and I think it’s the dog’s nads. It works out your rifle power in FP and joules for you Hopefully it will help out people. Zini. http://www.pyramydair.com/site/articles/formulas/
  3. Not a problem pal. I hope that you enjoy it Si
  4. That’s true Longman, Heavier pellets in a PCP do make the power up some what. You don’t say what calibre your rifle is but even a .177 would find it hard to go through 13 mm of shed which are usually made either pressed woods such as chip board or pine at 20 yards. They wouldn’t be far off going through though and after 5 or 6 well grouped shots would penetrate the shed easily. I feel the bloke probably just either didn’t like the feel of the gun or he didn’t really have the money to pay for it. Zini
  5. Lee, I’m not sure what rifle you have buddy, or what your silencer is made of, But I have had this problem when fitting a silencer to an older version HW95 when they had flip compensators instead of the new silencer. Tony Wall told me to heat the flip compensator with a heat gun and then unscrew it once the metal had expanded. It worked a treat for me and I fitted my silencer easily. Zini
  6. Hi there DPB, I have just come across a HW80 with silencer and scope already tuned for £200. That’s a mint price for such a good rifle. I have also used Tony Wall at Sandwell Field Sports to tune quite a few of my spring rifles in the past. I’ve got to say that what he does with a rifle is amazing buddy and well worth the extra £65 that he now charges. A HW rifle will come back silky smooth, whisper quiet with hardly any recoil compared to what it was like, and it will shoot like a dream. Zini
  7. Pest Hunter, Not that this is gospel as different combos act differently, but I shoot a .22 at 11.5 FP with FX 16 grain pellets. When zeroed at 30 metres (32 yards) at 15 metres the POI is about 10 mm above the aim point 20 metres the POI is about 15 mm above the aim point 50 metres the POI is about 150 mm below the aim point These are not measured just observed by me. Has as already been said, the trajectory curve is not a problem as long as you know your rifle and do your home work Zini
  8. Hi mate, I was given one from an old friend who sadly lost his eye sight due to an accident and couldn’t shoot it. They are brilliant rifles and are made to last. They respond to tuning very well and mine was tuned by Tony Wall at Sandwell Field Sports so shot like a dream. Mine sadly got stolen from my caravan when on holiday and I have been missing it ever since. Hunting wise I had a Tasco High Country 6-24 x 40 mm fitted to mine and could take vermin humanely out to about 40 metres without a problem. I too would also recommend them Zini
  9. My precharged rifles are .22 BSA R10 .22 Weihrauch HW 100KT Zini
  10. Jack, What you put there is silly mate and really needs to be edited by yourself buddy before the admin staff read it and warn you or ban you pal. Firstly there is no need to patronise the lad for asking a bout a spring, he obviously knows that a rifle like that comes with a spring in it. (It was obvious that the gun needed a new one to me). The regulars are trying to assist new shootings in here not try and make them look silly in the open forum. Secondly broadcasting that about over 12FP rifles like you have done (I’m not going to multi quote you) is very cowboy -ish and no
  11. Hi there buddy, I received the rifle on Tuesday when I returned to work buddy, thanks for the quick postage pal. The rifle is a GL serial number so is a mark 6 model BSA Airsporter buddy, better than I was expecting so cheers and I’m really made up about it. I got her chronographed with Ely Wasps 5.6mm as I was told work best in Airsporters (14.4 grain) and it was only doing 7.1 FP due to the spring needing replacing and the pellet tap leaking slightly mate just to age and intense use I should imagine. The stock has now been taken off the action and is getting sanded down an
  12. HI all, Yes Gary you will be able to pop down with the new rifle and zero. Ill just sneak you and Darryl in. Wear normal clothes though and no hunting attire LOL Yes Tony Wall has sorted my entire spring rifles up to date mate. He is the Master when it comes to gun tuning. Saying that though I have just found another bloke in Yorkshire who his name was passed on to me yesterday by a gun shop in Richmond and he seems brilliant. I spoke to him today in his workshop and he is doing all my work and threading my rifle for £60. Hi Jack, I don’t know why mate
  13. Top notch rifles you have coming there buddy. I just took my new springer into the gunsmiths this morning for a tuning and the barrel threading for a ½ inch silencer. I got the lot sorted for £60 and it will be ready this week. I can’t wait to smash some vermin with it. I am also getting a second hand, but in mint condition HW80 with silencer and scope fitted for £200 off him. It has been tuned as well by him so I’m pretty excited. I will have the TS45, BSA Airsporter Mark 6 and HW80 to finish the DVD off with. Cheers again Shay buddy Si
  14. Well done Chris and Joey, I’m chuffed to bits for you both. I hope that I get an invite down very soon to shoot some vermin with you both Si
  15. Hey Tony, Just keep at them and your day will come pal. Si
  16. Thanks everyone for the kind comments Hi Davy, buddy. Yes you’re welcome to come up and calibrate your .177 in my range pal. A scope camera shoot off sounds like fun mate. I don’t know about you but I find it really hard to shoot with that scope camera. I find it takes a lot more skill than just normal shooting mate. Hi Shay the rifle is sorted now pal and will be making a staring role along with my new BSA Airsporter that I received today very shortly. The Airsporter turned out to be a GL model which is a mark 6 model and in nice working order. I am getti
  17. Hi all, Here is a bit more footage from the scope camera today. This time I have been using my lamping rifle (HW100KT). I calibrated my mil dots first after fitting the high mounts prior to taking Dylan lamping for an hour or so. We ended up with 3 shots and 3 bunnies. Here is the link to the footage Enjoy Zini
  18. Excellant shooting and camera work Davy pal Do you find it alot harder to shoot with the scope camera fitted pal? I find it really hard to steady the camera and look through the view finder. Si
  19. Well done buddy. great write up too Zini
  20. Well done again Gary and Darryl pal Si
  21. No pal i am at my mums house at the moment as my grandad is dying, so ill pick it up o day. Cheers Si
