Hi e2000, Mine was when I was 13 or 14 when I first started playing around with air rifles buddy. I had a Relum Tornado I think it was called, (cant quite remember) with a 4x20 scope, but anyway I was plinking targets in the back garden of my grandmas old house when at about 10 to 15 metres a feral pigeon landed on her shed roof. She was always moaning about the pigeons messing everywhere and wanted them getting rid of as she used to put it. I sat down at her garden table and rested the rifle as steady as I could before gently squeezing the trigger while trying not to shake wit

Hi all, I am looking for a broken, (something that new internals would sort out), donated or unwanted spring air rifle to fix and use in my new Pure Air Rifle Hunting DVD. I get a lot of private messages from people asking me to show some footage with a spring gun so would like to accommodate them the cheapest way I can. The brands that I am looking for are either: Weihrauch BSA Air Arms Webley Or any full power model Please post photos on here if you have anything that you would be willing to donate or sell very cheap. The donator or seller with also re

Hi Joey pal, Yes now the FX Verminator has gone back I thought I might as well stick it back on the R10 to save it going to waist. I’ve been out this morning again with the HW100KT and shot some good footage with the camera but without the scope camera as it doesn’t fit due to my medium mounts. One of the crows I had to take a long shot at as I couldn’t get any closer in the car due to the deep snow at the assault course pal. It was estimated at 50m to 55m from the road that goes down to our usual photo location and was given 3.5 mil dots hold over with the Nikko Stirlin

Hi Ferrit, Both guns hardly put out any recoil compared to other brands of spring air rifle in their price range buddy. They are both top notch rifles. I find both rifles are easy to shoot, but it depends on your own shooting ability from different positions buddy. I don’t like taking standing shots anyway unless the target is no more than 20 metres away as I don’t shoot that well from that position and ought to spend more time improving that technique, but I get round it by using kneeing, prone, resting on my surroundings and sniping from my vehicle to achieve my aim.

Hi all, Here is some more footage from yesterday’s couple of hours sniping from my vehicle with the BSA R10 and scope camera. I ended up getting 3 rooks and 2 feral pigeons. The ranges were from 20 metres out to 35 metres. I hope you like the new footage Here is the link to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7b8FWKJGZ5w Zini

Hi pal, I have owned both rifle and shot hundreds of head of vermin with them. As Sib says the HW95k is lighter and easier to carry if you are on a long stalk or you have a big permission to cover. Both rifles are around 11.8FP and are more accurate than you will be able to shoot them. I liked my HW97K the most pal as i like a heavier rifle as i find i shoot it better standing unassisted. Both rifles are top quality hunting rifles. Zini

No problems Sib pal, I will be posting more in 10 minutes With practice and experience you will be able to compensate for the wind pal easy enough. Si -
That looks like a nice cusom Storm rifle mate. I used to own one myself that i could set between 11.5FP to 54FP. That one used to smash rabbits set at 24FP. I shot one with Festa at 63 metres straight through the head. I like the rifles mate. Zini

Hi all, Here are my rifles that i have at the minute. BSA R10 mark 2 in .22 calibre with a Tasco 6-26x50 AO, Illume scope Weihrauch HW100KT .22 calibre with a Nikko Stirling Game King 3-16x44 AO scope and Hawk laser. Zini

No problems what so ever Rob pal There is nothing wrong with them SMK Springer’s mate, i rate the ones ive seen in action 100%. When i first met Reggaeman he used one in .177 and he killed rabbits and squirrels easily with it at 35 metres and sometimes beyond. I was there when he zeroed the rifle in my indoor range and he managed to get 3 shot groups the size of a 1p piece with it using the correct shooting techniques’ and follow through at 30 metres. Reggaeman is an exceptional shot though and one of the best shots I’ve ever seen so your lad will have to probably have to wor

Yes Rifleman88, That was with the FX pellets. Thats all i use now in both my rifles. Zini. I look forward to seeing you again Rabbit. -
Hi Watchman pal, I am a .22 calibre shooter myself so would always say .22 and get to know the trajectory. But as you say it’s for your lad though I would probably suggest a .177 as it has a flatter trajectory mate. After looking at Davys excellent video footage the other day I see that a full power .177 doesn’t really have much holdover or hold under at all out to 40 yards so I think if your lad zeroed it at say 15 or 20 metres he should be able to aim bang on and hit targets out to 25 or 30 metres easily if his shooting is up to that standard. 30 metres is a ample range t

Hi Joey, I have never been to your club so haven’t seen the lay out yet but my suggestions are as follows: Information boards hung up in the club house for new shooters to cover the following: The law in regards to shooting an air rifle Safe shooting with an air rifle / pistol How to zero a scope correctly How to maintain your rifle How to estimate range Explain hold under and hold over Some electric soup heater for the cold Winter mornings at the club The obvious coffee and tea plus kettle, cups, tea spoons etc A brew fund set up and run by a memb

Hi Watchman, Look at this link to a cheap site. http://www.outdoorsman.co.uk/index1.html When you get on there on the left hand side press on Shooting then Air rifles then 2 good brands to look at are SMK Air Rifles id say first and then Cometa Air Rifles. The company will send a rifle to your nearest gun shop so you can easily pick them up. Cheers Zini

BSA R10 shooting small targets and then scope camera hunting

Cheers guys. I am glad that you enjoyed the footage, and I hope it illustrates various shooting skills with a .22 calibre rifle well . I’ve got the rifle in work with me again today so hopefully will (work depending) be able to get out and shoot some more vermin for my boss . He wants as many corvids and squizzers shooting as possible as we have a massive problem with them stealing song bird eggs and killing their chicks and eating them in the Spring time . I’m hoping that by Spring though I will have them under control and will have put a dint in their numbers . -
Hi all, Here is some more video footage from a few hours shooting with my BSA R10 yesterday at my work place . In this footage you will see me first plinking, shooting 3 small targets to ensure a perfect zero prior to going and shooting live animals, each target getting smaller in size as I shoot. You will then see me using the scope camera hunting vermin at work using hold under and hold over from 20 metres out to 40 metres. One of the longer shots is taken with a side wind so you will see a demonstration of me adjusting the scope for elevation and windage at 40 metres (43.7

Thankyou for them kind words Sib buddy And after reading your review again just, i think that you will quite happy with the footage that i post tomorrow morning with the scope cam hunting vermin. Si

Id go for it pal If the single shot is in perfect working order and you are used to it,then why not? As long as the second hand conversion kit is all in good working order. Having a multi shot with a quick second shot has to be better than not having it. Zini

Hi Darryl, Thanks mate and yes good point about the wind effecting the pellet outside in the elements when shooting . The further away the target and the stronger the wind the more you have to compensate for it. Its yet another skill that the air rifle hunter needs to understand and master to ensure accurate and humane kills . I have taken some good footage today that i will need to download to YouTube in the morning first thing as my internet dongle is super slow at night which demonstrates shooting with a side wind. I use the scope camera to shoot a 40 metre feral p

I think that any calibre be it .177, .20, .22 or .25 calibre will humanely kill vermin as long as the person using the rifle is adequate in using it correctly. Does it really matter if a trajectory is flat or curved as long as you know your hold under and hold over points at ranges that you know you can accurately shoot over and almost guarantee a good POI? I don’t see a problem with using .20 calibre less for the amount of quality pellets out there. They seem to kill vermin ok and a lot of people swear by them. Zini
