I was out hunting with a lad on here last year on my permission and he said stop as we were driving down a very narrow track. I stopped quickly as we were only going slow and next to him on the passenger side was a squizzer sat on a post looking at us both . It didnt give a feck and must of been hard as nails It was no more than 3 or 4 metres from us as the track was so narrow. He had a shot at it but missed by miles due to not enough hold over applied to compensate for the lower barrel and not being able to focus on it very good due to being on x6 mag, (lowest setting)

How did you manage to shoot 2 rabbits humanely with one shot from your FAC Hotdog? I used to go out with a fac air rifle myself that pushed out 54 FP. The rifle was more than caperble of shooting through 2 rabbits but i would never attempt to do it as I know that fur, skin, body organs and bone deflect a pellet so you canot guarentee a perfect POI. I think that you were lucky that you never wounded the second rabbit. Not a shot i would of attempted myself buddy to tell you the truth. Just my thoughts pal. Zini

Hi Paddy, A air rifle like most things are made up from some main parts, barrel, trigger mech, shock, air cylinder, gas ram or spring almost other things too. For someone who has been trained in, or as the technical know how, and has a metal lave will be able to design and make their own rifle pretty easily. Barrels are hard to manufacture even for a top metal lave so are better purchased separately from Walther or Anschutz. I believe Weihrauch do make their own barrels and they are legendary for their accuracy, but they have the proper equipment to do this. I know a man that m

Hi Mortsi pal, In your thread mate you said that you have been out a couple of times but haven’t got anything. Does this mean that you have seen the rabbits but have missed them when shooting, or that you have not seen any buddy? If you haven’t seen any then I think a change of location is your answer pal. If this is the case then maybe another local regular on here can take you out on his / her permission? I have done a bit of lamping in my time buddy and know a little bit about it and I hope that this advice helps you some what. If you have seen rabbits but missed the

That’s really funny that you have said that pal. I owned a FX Verminator (same as a Gladiator apart from being a slight bit smaller) for about 2 to 3 days and mine did the same thing. I got rid of mine as I lost faith in the company. It’s easy to fix though as I found out after looking on the internet. All you do is as follows: 1. Take the bottle off, so there is no air in the rifle. 2. Unscrew the filler port on the end of the other air res. (Where your filler probe goes into). 3. You will see a small screw or nut if I remember right. 4. Remove that and the

How to calibrate your own mil dots
zini replied to zini's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Sib pal Yes i have done already pal but you are only allowed 10 minutes of footage on YouTube so i had to edit it short. The hold under is done just the same pal, but the impact is above the target instead of being under it. I have never calibrated my mil dots to something the size of a drawing pin so now that i have these figures ill be hitting pigeons brains at 50 metres with no wind . As you can see from the footage the R10 is a really accurate rifle and im not the best shot in the world to do it full justice. Someone like Davy or Reggaeman who are far better shot -
I have a Barnett Diablo i thnk its called and was sent it for free by Barnett in 1998 when i was out in Bosnia to kill the ferals that were sh--ting all over our equipment in the hangers. I think that they are good bits of kit but harder to shoot and be accurate than people think. After 6 months i could hit a feral at about 10 metres pretty easily and reguarly. Si

Hi everyone, I was having a little play today with my .22 calibre BSA R10 in my indoor range, and wanted to try and push how I calibrate my mil dots on my Tasco scope to the limits, using small drawing pins as the targets out to 50 metres. To do this I used my Panasonic scope camera to show others how I calibrate my own mil dots in the hope that it will help others who want to try my method out for themselves. Please note that shooting from a scope camera is a lot harder and trickier than just shooting from your normal bench rested shooting position, where no camera is in your way

Help with Air Arms TDR please
zini replied to sibaldib's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Good to see that you have it sorted Sib pal. I think with what you have said that it is a problem with the thread on the rifle if it has one to attach the silencer or the barrel sleeve not being fully true to the centre of the bore mate. If you still have problems with it. i know a man that worked for Ripley Rifles for 21 years and now just potters about fixing lads rifles as a hobby now days. He also customises rifles himself and has even designed his own PCP's. He claims that he will build anyone a gun on their own designs, only buying in the Anshutz barrels for pure accuracy -
Whats your address Sib pal? Ill get it off to you in the post tomorrow Si

Help with Air Arms TDR please
zini replied to sibaldib's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Yes Sib pal, This is not the first time I have heard of people on the BBS selling faulty rifles under false intents, if this turns out to be the case buddy. Someone that I shoot with was also sold a faulty rifle in the past and was pretty un happy to say the least. The problem if proven to be the barrel has been with that rifle for a very long time mate. My problem was solved by me fitting a Logun silencer to my rifle as the hole and baffles in the Logun silencer were slightly bigger than the ones going through the AA silencer. You may also find that because your rifle shoo
