  1. Hi guys, After watching Gary and Darryl shoot bunnies last night while I lamped for them I felt that I needed to get out and have a little shoot myself today. Yesterday I took the Tasco scope off the R10 and the SAK silencer and gave them a good clean prior to putting the Tasco back on and adjusting my eye relief a little. I decided that I was not going to refit the SAK silencer as I wanted the rifle to be at its lightest and at the carbine length that it was designed to be. After a bit of rough science I could tell that the R10 was quite at 20 metres without the silencer fitte
  2. I look forward to seeing them FarmerKev. Only practice makes perfect buddy so get plenty of range time in and im sure you will improve very quickly mate. Si
  3. "Fleas" What do you expect mate? That is 5 Regt for you and the place is full of blood sucking lice and fleas LOL Si
  4. Yes I have to agree with Tony and Gary on this one. Cost of kit isn’t the issue here pal. As Gary said some of the cheapest shooting equipment is just as good as the most expensive kit if you know what you are doing with it and apply the correct science behind your sport. I also use a Tasco 6-24x50 AO mil dot which costs around 30 odd-ish pounds from EBay but it still works fine for me and I have had quite a few clean kills with it mate. Some of the SMK equipment now is really good and works just as well as some of the more expensive brands like Hawke, Nikko Stirling and Simmon
  5. Great write up Gary mate I bet Darryl is sleeping like a little baby after so many hours without sleep :lazy: . Well as Gary said it was a very good night last night and the bunnies were playing for us, sitting in the dimmed red filtered light nicely, waiting for the diet of .177 calibre Bisley Magnums and .22 Defiants to clinically knock their brains out . One thing is for sure, once a .177 Bisley Magnum hits the rabbits brain it does its job very well. For anyone who questions a .177 over distance as a long range hunting calibre I can promise you that they do the job jus
  6. Nice going Lee buddy Nice rifle too Si
  7. No problems Moocher. Let me know what you think pal Si
  8. Best of luck guys, Ive just back from lamping with Festa and Markksman again. Post to follow from Marksman. Si
  9. True mate thats a good way to look at it. Have a nightmare at shooting and still get 9 bunnies. Cant be bad LOL . What about the other ones though Gary. The one at 40 metres that i shot, when Darrly went to pick it up it jumped back onto its feet and legged it down a hole, that bunny was Jesus bunny or it was knocked out for a minute and then came round quick . Then the one that i shot on the bank next to the make shift base that was hit in the head but jumped down the flipping hole with its nerves never to be seen again. What you doing tonight mate? Si
  10. Good luck Tony pal, i look forward to reading your post pal. Si
  11. I used Bisley Magnums when i had my .177 Verminator and they were very good mate. Si
  12. Hi Lee, Good photos pal and its nice what you managed to do with the lamp buddy . I don’t know why you didn’t do a write up mate as a magpie is one of the weariest birds and air rifle quarry to shoot, so you should be proud of getting one pal. If that was me id defo do a write up pal. Think about it mate, how many magpies have you seen posted on here just lately when there is no leaves on the trees and they can see you coming for miles? Not many if any pal. Well done mate again Si
  13. Enjoy Davy pal, Have a beer for us mate . Hey Davy i forgot to say pal, we may be uggle lads but at least we dont wear womens clothes Si
  14. The woman who shot the video footage (Cubleycat) is using x6 on here scope, but the scope camera is zoomed it to assist her see her mil dots better, which is what I do to help me when filming. It doesn’t affect the mil dots when doing it this way, and is the correct way to film with a scope camera. She also shoots a .177 calibre HW100KT. I have looked on Chair Gun software and plotted a rough plot of where her pellet impacts at 100 metres using a standard pellet weight and a 35 metre initial zero. As you will see from the screen shot I cannot find the Tasco mil dot reticule but
  15. Sometimes you can go out at 3 degs and see nothing and the next night you go to the same place at minus 3 and see loads. Funny little critters bunnies Zini
  16. A fantastic little rifle pal Very very accurate and will put pellet on pellet at 30 metres if you match the barrel with the right pellet. Try AA Field or FX pellets as they seem to work well in BSA barrels. Zini
  17. I forgot to mension i also missed 2 bunnies at about 15 to 20 metres ending up 2 inches in front of their feet both times. God knows how i ended up 6 click low, but plus the 1 mil dot hold under i gave them both it caused me to be well low. I think that thay though i was giving them both a warning shot Si
  18. That’s a good write up Darryl mate and the photos have come out cracking pal . I think that you were nice to me though pal to tell you the truth . I think to be honest mate that I had the worst nights shooting that I have had in about the last 11 months, missing easy between 15 to 20 shots at un-miss able ranges which I normally would never miss and take with my eyes closed . The last shot of the night was my last night’s nightmare and the one that I kept thinking about in bed to well gone 0600 hrs this morning. It was a side ways on big buck rabbit sat at no more tha

  22. Hi Megpsycho, The rifle you are talking about is most probably called a Theoben Rapid 7. The Rapid 7 comes in many forms now. It has either a 7 or 12 shot magazine in .22 calibre 12 shot magazine in .20 calibre And a 17 shot magazine in .177 calibre. The 2 models that I think your friend will be selling his either a mark 1 or mark 2. A mark 1 will cost £667 new and a mark 2 will cost £835 new from Theoben. Here is the link to the site http://www.theoben.co.uk/product.php?productid=13&cat=19&page=1 Both rifles are brilliant rifles and wi
