Hi all, Here is some video footage of me doing a tutorial on washing and lubing my pellets. I then filmed me chronographing my new Air Arms Pro Sport rifle prior to zeroing her on the best pellet for power and consistency. This video is in response to peoples request yesterday and the day before that I show how I prepare my equipment prior to shooting vermin. As you will see from the results I got some very interesting findings proving that it’s not always true when people say that springers like light pellets and PCPs like heavy pellets. As you will see from the footage, t

Great shooting mate The bloke in my local gun shop cant sell them fast enough. As soon as they come in they are gone within hours. The rifle is surposed to be the biggest secret in shooting so far. It will be nice to see how you get on in a field test pal. I wish you all the best. Did Tony get his hands on the rifle before you bought it from him pal? If he did i imagine the rifle is as good as any PCPs out there. Si

Hi lads, Here is my new rifle that I got today. I went to a new gun shop to buy some FX pellets as my normal shop was out of stock. When I got to the shop I decided to have a look at what springer rifles they had in for sale. This .22 calibre Air Arms Pro Sport jumped out at me, already fitted with double clamp Pro Mounts, a fantastic Hawke Nite Eye SR12 6-24x50 Illume and leather sling and swivels plus the rifle came with a Buffalo River padded gun bag. After chatting to the shop owner he informed me that a bloke had come into the shop yesterday wanting to sell the rifle a

I use a GunTuff LRF mate that i got from JS Ramsbottom. Ive had it about 5 months now and Ive never had a problem with it. Its the dogs nads I use it at night and in the day, both static hunting and mooching in the woods with the terrier. Its as accurate as hell to 400 yards. Will work out metres and yards at the touch of a button. Festa and Marksman has seen mine in action, and Festa was so impressed with it he is buying one himself at the end of the month. If you have calibrated your mil dots and know which one to pick for each range the GunTuff LRF is a deadly -
No problems pal. All the best with your shooting I look forward to reading your posts Zini

Yes i did notice the change in reticule size pal. I am used to using my big old tasco set on x10 mag so it was a shock to see a small one like that mate set at x6 mag. The good way to look at it though mate is that due to the small size of the mil system and low mag, my wobble should be smaller and if im not entirely sure of the range to the quarry i can put the whole reticule over the kill area and should guarentee a kill LOL Si -

BSA R10 and HW100KT chrono data
zini replied to zini's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Farmer, The F1 chronograph has 1 photo sensitive cell at each end of the unit. When light is altered at each sensor between the 2 senor cells, the unit picks this up. What it then does is calculates the time it takes for the light to change at each sensor. Once its done this is works out a mathamatical equasion to calculate the speed of your pellet / bullet/ bow arrow / paint ball etc, giving you a speed in feet per second. Using this data you can now work out how powerful your rifle is. This is done by the following sum: Velocity (fps) times the Velocity (fps) t -
BSA R10 and HW100KT chrono data
zini replied to zini's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Thats what i though Bill but believe it or not the 16 grains chronoed at 11.91, slightly lower than the 14.3s . Im not sure why as i was always under the impression that the heavier the pellet in a PCP the more power was given out. Not in this case though, and the F1 chrono is accurate to 99.5% at 7000 feet per second so the data is bang on mate. All i can think of is its down to how the pellets fit in the barrel, or the ballistic profile of the FX in the HW100KT mate. The only reason i changed to the Webley Accupells is that they are lighter and gave a me a better and flatt -
They are fab little pumps Farmer You will probably find if you buy one that the gear system on the top can be left open all the time and never closed. I always leave mine open which enables you to fill your rifle very quickly indeed. The gear system closed still pumps but not as much air at once as when open. It makes it easier for the pumper i surpose. Si

Hi all, The 2 new Hawke 4-16x50 MAP Pro 6 scopes arrived today along with my F1 chrono i ordered off the net. I was going to save the scopes for my new springers, but curiosity got the better of me and i wanted to see how they faired, so i mounted one on my R10 now that it has been chronoed at 11.51 FP. Looking at the Hawke BRC software and entering my R10's data i settled on a 25 metres (27 yard) zero giving me a mil dot aim point from 5m to 45m. I then took the rifle and zeroed it at 25m in the woods. To test that the Nick Jenkinson designed reticule worked at other dist

zini replied to zini's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Wont be a problem pal. Hope fully you have some heavy pellets Darryl as mr R10 doesnt like light ones at all mate. Si -
Hi all, I was doing some chrono work today with the new F1 chrono and the .22 R10 and HW100KT. Its obviously for my own rifles, but its a very good started for anyone else with the same .22 calibre rifles I got some suprising results with both rifles. Air rifle profile Scope type = Generic mil dot Scope magnification = 6 standard mil dot Scope above centre of barrel = 48mm Rifle type = BSA R10 Zero range = 25m Pellet type = FX Pellet weight = 16 grain Rifle velocity = 568.7 f/s or 173 m/s Rifle power = 11.51 Ft/lbs or 15.60 joules Profi

Why Garfield you little MONSTER YOU :realmad: :realmad: There is nothing wrong with "sneaking like a sneaking thing" or "I hope that them rabbits breed like rabbits this year so we have lots of rabbits to shoot next year" There is also the "the tree with the brown trunk" when in the middle of a wood full with trees with brown trunks LOL. Why thank you very much Aaron your a real gent with that comment mate Hi Country Kid, I think that what the lads have already said is just about right for you at this minute buddy. You sound like you are pretty new to hunting with an air rifle so better stick to the head shots pal. The reason I say that is because the head on the quarry you shoot is easily visible and quite small, the heart is very small and not visible. You either hit the head or miss it so either get a kill or the animal runs or fly’s off to be shot another day. You take a shot at a animal and mi
