  1. its only scotland thats affected moley and just fox snaring , i heard the government only received two hundred submissives , out of thousands who snare and mine was one of them , its always the same few who keep trying while the rest sit back on their arse and think it will go away , but these same guys will be the first to shout their mouth of if anything does happen .
  2. set your fox snares 10 inches high to the bottom of the noose , use a ten inch noose , as you want the animal looking through the the loop , not at it , as small loops wooden tealers and bushing in snares cause avoidance , in higher grass set 12 inches to the bottom of the noose , as the fox lifts its head higher , just the same as humans would do in tall grass to see where you are going , badgers also lift their heads higher in high grass and at ten inches you will still catch an odd one , wire tealers are better as they have lower visibility , its the same when snaring rabbits in high grass
  3. teejay , are there rats near where you caught the rabits , because they usually eat them around the face , and eat the eyes out , also the the stomach area , but its not a good close up to see properly , as the badger usually eats out from the back end , all the way up , and you are normally left with the flat skin and paws , somtimes ive only seen bits of rabbits left although it was badgers that ate them, all the best mate ,
  4. your right moxy the red filter is best on rats , i had a loan of a logan light on my bsa lightning ,, but did not have a filter so i bought a little bottle of tizer and the little plastic bottle is red in colour , i cut the neck of and made 4 little slits around the neck and slid it over the small logan light so that the base of the bottle is up against the front of the lamp , and it worked great , over a five night period i shot over 1200 rats , gsw.
  5. if we could have written professionally like plummer , he would never have been heard of , as he couldnt do the practical business like we can and that goes for all the other bullsh#t writers ,
  6. in the modified rat trap the head is guided over the chin bar into the cage tunnel which is more than ample space for the rat to slip its head in the rat can also see through the cage and all around it , when the trap fires you get a neck strike everytime and the chin bar dislocates the vertebrae , humane and instant kill , as ive said about the tube on the nooskie , in my opinion its to small, i really think that this has to do with the rats not entering their head, i think that a 2 1/4 inch diam. tube would be better , as it gives them more confidence to enter their head , in winter time b
  7. you have a very small foot where did all the blood come from on the side of the rat .
  8. far to expensive for an old hammer , a brick hammer will do just as well, for a quarter the price ,
  9. I use an old Post bag with a dodgy buckle that sometimes can be so f*****g annoying but I've had it thirty years. The pin on the buckle is so worn and the strap so soft that sometimes, usually in the pissing rain, and the dark, and the windy and muddy and unhappiness, it slips and falls to the ground spilling its contents everywhere. I usually say oh dear. One of these days I must get a new one, trouble is this ones just the right size. ian, why don,t you put a piece of an old rabbit snarewire through it like i did with mine , as i experienced the same problem. and it saves any aggrivati
  10. 22 1/2 inch , six strand snare is more than enough, for pegged snares , who the hell needs an 8 strand snare people who make and sell these don,t know much about snaring, they are usually salesmen with their mind on nothing except profit , ive tried 24 inch nooses also the loop is just to big and misses occur thats why i do not use them , i make all my nooses 22 1/2 long and use them for pegged snares and also fences , because all fences are different and some times the wires can be five mil. in diameter and 6 inches apart , therefore the usual shop bought shit is absolutely no use , people hav
  11. these nooskies are 16 quid each, just plastic and over priced , the bait tube is to small 1 1/2 inch diam. tried it they would not go near it , you are better buying 8 pro. victor traps for the price of one nooski, and modifying them , at least they are more humane and kill outright ,
  12. i think you are getting seriously confused kidd , brass is only for snaring rabbits squirrels and small mamals , you will need to get steel aircraft cable for coons ,either 5. 64th. or 2 mil. why don,t you contact the bcta, in b. c. as you live there , and they will help you , they run trapping and snaring courses , membership is 25 bucks,
  13. why don,t you get an old postmans bag they are pretty good
  14. check to see if the lacs are operating as a charity , if they are , there funds should not be being used for political issus , if so i wonder if the inland revenue would be interested ,
  15. well they have no one to blame but themselves , as i told you in my pm , two hundred submissives from thousands of members , they sit back on their arses as usual and leave it to the regular few that does the work , but its not going to stop me , i,ll still snare until they put me in a box , the gun ban didn,t work as there are more guns on the streets than ever , the cash for favour squaud debated 700 hours on a silly fox , while the country is awash with murders , drugs, alcoholism, sexual imorality , under age pregnancies, and anarchay , does this not tell the people something,
  16. little loyd are you setting a bonfire to burn the gate post down ,
  17. why don,t you just screw a modified rat trap onto the side of the wall , it will save all the bricklaying work,
  18. i don,t want to see one of you english lads for a while , because everytime they visit me they do more tapping than a blind man,s stick , as duckwing says,
  19. you don,t sound like me mate , as i can snare squirrels , why the hell do you want to dye or dip snares for squirrels anyway , ive snared hundreds and never dyed a snare for to catch them yet , set a bodygrip it will be easier for you.snareman scotland .
  20. DON,T BOTHER SON JUST USE A SIX STRAND SNARE , OUT ON OPEN RUNS SET 6 1/2 MINIMUM , HIGHER IN LONGER GRASS , AND WHEN ITS WET , AND YOU WILL GET BIG KILLS OF RABBITS , LIKE WOODGA , PEG AND GUN, AND MYSELF. IT WAS ME WHO MADE THE KEVLAR SNARES , AS I GOT SOME OF THE STUFF FROM P AND G. , THEY ARE EXTREMELY STRONG , AND ARE ALRIGHT ON FENCELINES , BUT THE BRASS CAN,T BE BEATEN , ITS BEEN WELL TRIED AND TESTED BY THOUSANDS OF TRAPPERS OVER THE YEARS , THATS WHY ITS USED ON RABBITS STILL TO THIS DAY . A PEGGED WIRE LIKE I MAKE AND USE WITH THE DOUBLE KNOT CAN CATCH UP TO 30 RABBITS AT TIMES BEFOR
  21. we have been using those bodygrip traps since the 90,s , the magnum trap company is the supplier and distributer in the uk , their advert is on this site , robin tarrant is the owner of the company ,
  22. ian, you do get oxidisation when the brass is wound around the tealer shaft below the eyelet , what i do is spray the tealers with a can of grey primer from the pound shop, then with a can of vauxhall green auto paint, once this has dried i then attach the snare loops ,this eliminates the oxidisation problem, thats why i used the copper breakaway,s instead of galvanized wire for the rabbit breakaway system.
  23. been there took that pockets bulging ,you have to be fast round ere i thought peg and gun was bad , but he is certainly not in woodga,s league , when it comes to helping yourself , hope that wee lot keeps you going son for the next three months until you come back , i,ve changed the lock , now go and visit ditch shitter for a change you lads and give me peace, you even cleaned out all the cake and chocolate biscuits , ratcherman , and geordie , hardly got any , i really thought that you would have needed more , brass , and eyelets , don,t call me i,ll call you.
  24. the cash for favour lot we have for a government spend hundreds of hours in debate over a silly fox, while the country is awash with drugs alcoholism, sexual immorality ,under age pregnancies , anarchay , and murders by the score everyday how can people like this make judgement on a moral issue like snaring .
