  1. thank god you might at last fullfill your promise and send up my rubber , it must be 100 ft. long by now .
  2. i pm,d markieboy earlier, and an 8 kilo drum has jumped up to 120 pounds , due to the chinese buying up all the non ferrous metals , and shop snare nooses are selling at 75 pence each , so the days of cheap snares are over.
  3. all american mole traps seem to be made like this for overkill , an elephant and forty troopers would be needed to carry half a dozen of these monstrosities , but there is one thing the americans can,t catch moles as good as our lads , and thats fact.
  4. forget it , why do you think all the pro,s over the last 100 years use brass because its the best , your little guitar string is no comparison , waken up son , it would be alright if you were stuck with nothing else , but one of these pegged rabbit snares , with the double knot , can hold up to 30 rabbits before it needs replacing . with steel wire your getting one , and another thing is that picture wire is pure shite also , and it is only rank amateurs that play around with it , if you want to be good at this game forget all the nonsense,, and elevate yourself .
  5. ditchy what about the biggest snared rat for 08 , i,m setting out snares for the rats tomorrow, i can,t let teejay get away with those ones he put up on site at the weekend .
  6. proper job, you don,t want a shed like mine as its standing room only , i,m waiting on woodga and duckwing coming up to clear it out for me to take all these snares away , by the way whats wrong screwing a modified rat trap to the post , cheap , light and easy , and effective no chewed posts , dead squirrel.
  7. i have came across this hundreds of times over the years , normaly found where there is sheep present , i think this is multicepts, where these daughter cysts are full of tape worm eggs ,
  8. nice one teejay, those are guinea pigs your snaring, ha ha , you will have to shorten the twines as they are to long , i,ll be doing runs like that soon , catch you later, gw.
  9. Thanks, Lamperman Did you let them get used to the baitstation for a few days first or have the wires set all the time? In the article it says set the wires 4 1\2 '' high, seems a bit high for a squirrel,, how high are your wires set at>? LITTLE LOYD , I FORGOT TO STATE IN THE ARTICLE , MAKE A LITTLE CUT IN EACH SIDE OF YOUR PLASTIC TREE GUARD AND BEND IT UP FROM THE BOTTOM AND THEN STAPLE IT THIS STOPS YOUR BAIT FALLING OUT OR USE A BOTTLE WITH ONLY THE TOP PART AT EACH END CUT OF THIS STOPS THE BAIT FALLING OUT , REMEMBER ITS ONLY A SIMPLE BAIT SET TO GET THEM RUNNING AONG
  10. ditchy, don,t you think that the top trap on the last set of pics, looks similar to a canadian koro trap the way it is sitting
  11. red dog , that was one of the first things i told him , seems those ears of his are painted on his head, as ive said before you can,t get good staff now anywhere, the lads a good rabbit snarer , but he,s needing practice at the rats, ha ha, gw.
  12. s by s. you don,t say if they are the kids from the farm , or their age, or ones who are prowling fom out side , if they are older youths then give the fcukers a good slap , like we would have gotten in our day , also double a length of 3 mil, wire and bend the double length, around a 1 inch diameter bar then staple the two fork ends into the back , this will kill rats easily , you can make them in minature with square plastic pipe cover , similar to a home made mole trap ,
  13. wonder if the breakaway would have held that boy colin .
  14. if you keep on catching them like that teejay we will all have to go to the zoo to see a rabbit soon , ha ha , good stuff.
  15. its most obvious that your a beginner to the rabbit snaring game , as you are asking are they effective , yes they are most effective in the right hands in fact they are deadly efficient in controlling rabbit numbers in a very short time , why are you using para, cord , a 6 strand brass snare is fine , keep away from the shop bought snares , as they are very poorly designed , with cheap thin twine that just rots , they are usually eight or ten strand, why the hell they are made like this beats me , as a pro. made six strand snare holds hares and big fox cubs easily, they are like tow rope , c
  16. some of those rats are like guinea pigs they fill the whole trap jaws , ditch shitter will like those big boys , i want to see some hanging from the benders in those nice knew snares i sent you down , so get to it lad, well done trev.
  17. thats a big old campaigner colin, he has seen a few christmases , big noose set high , no bushing in, pure simplicity and most effective , take note the small loop and set low men. gw.
  18. the keepers will probably be very busy with their shoots at the moment , and don,t have time to to check their trapline , therefore thats probably why they will have sprung their traps.
  19. red dog i,ve threatened tejay on no account kill those rats with a dog , he has promisedme he will snare them and let ditchy and the lads see the size of these rats , the video footage he sent me up last year of the rats caught in bodygrips , they were as big and fat as guinea pigs , so he will be putting up the pics. of the big snared ones soon , anyway thats a nice wee terrier that you have teejay . full snares , gw.
  20. John, Larsen trap building seems to come up a fair bit, materials for tunnel traps, baits for cages, where to buy genuine Fenn traps, and are there any real live mink in County Leitrim etc etc OTC OTC. YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT DITCHY HAS ALL THE MINK UNDER CONTROL IN CO, LEITREM ,
  21. the keepers will probably be tied up with a lot of shooting days at the moment , and probably spring the traps until the busy period is over ,
  22. thats alright for you young lads that love spade work , me, i avoid it like the plague , i,m content to let my little servants sit there patiently and do the work for me, you have no vet bills or feeding needed for the snares , bobbo , you should have came round for a coffee when you were nearbye , i would probably have been in , so i,ll be safe leaving my rat snares hanging up then HA HA ,
