  1. there are no secrets to mole trapping, they have all been shown before, by moley, peg and gun, and bob merins, all real top pro. mole trappers.
  2. send em to me ill have em you cannot have locking fox snares in your posession now under scottish law, therefore if its only rabbit snaresthere is no problem ,as long as you don,set them without a stop just use the ones that you have stops on them and keep adding stops to the others until they have all been fitted with stops, the scottish government recommends that all stops on rabbit snares are set at 5 inches.which is far to small, i crimped 1500 stops one to every pegged snare at 6inches along with a breakaway system to every snare, i can understand how you feel i did a 100 every night unt
  3. Probably had around 40 peg snares, 10 fence snares and 10 fenns out mate... over 3 days, had around the 90 mark. Them pegs are easier to see in shorter grass, you can use them without markers.. I tend to just set the pegs in lines 20 yards out from the hedgelines, so you walk along picking them up, easily without losing track.. ian,and every prowlerwill pick them up real easy also,
  4. http://www.solwayfee...p2805-c416.html It would appear that solway feeders are selling these illegally then?? Although the Collarum is not yet approved in Scotland there is nothing to stop them selling it as long as it was not used by there Scottish based customers. IAN, IS THAT SNARELOCK ON THE COLLARUM SNARE LOOP A SURELOCK, IF SO ITS ILLEGAL IN U.K. ALSO, AT 100 POUNDS A GO , EXTORSION,ALSO WHO THE HELL WANTS TO BE DIGGING THIS CONTRAPTION INTO HARD FREEZING GROUND IN WINTER, WHEN I CAN SET A 25 PENCE FOX SNARE OVER A TRAIL AND BE GONE IN LESS THAN TWO MINUTES. AND IF YOUR
  5. what ia wrong with using a simple 4mil.snap link on the trap ring and just click it onto the fence in 1 second, also just bend a 16 inch length of 4 mil.wire into a tight U shape and push it down into the ground like i showed on site with the rabbit snares without pegs, it holds big winter rabbits and big winter dog mink, no problem.
  6. Agree rolfe, if it works use it,... I've snared rabbits in fox snares set 10" off the floor with no long grass around... I've seen rabbits jump straight through fence snares, pegangun recorded this happening also... Nothing is truely set in stone... ian, thats correct, i have witnessed this myself rabbits going through fence wires many years ago, the problem is very simple to solve.thanks for the phone call last monday. i,ll give you a buzz shortly, woodga snared 96 the other morning 73 in hoop snares and the rest in fence snares . the keeper thought he wouldn,t catch many at the height he
  7. duckwing, you are right its the scent that causes them to avoid a pegged snare, even a fenceline snare, there is another couple of problem with fenceline snares, but i,ll tell you on the phone, all about it, as for fox snares, when you have carried out extensive snaring, for many decades, in every type of inclement weather, like i have, you find out many various types of problems the average, run of the mill guys will never know about snares . yes,you will catch many foxes in new shiny snares as i have done myself on many occasions, but there are times they won,t catch, and that is a true fact a
  8. trev, good going lad,old foxy is a menace at times ,had a bit bothe with him a couple weeks back, the keeper snared it he was 24 lbs, an old dog.
  9. I HONESTLY DIDNT KNOW SCOTCHMEN WERE SO GENEROUS !!!!

cannot really add much to whats below ........ GW yer a DIAMOND !

  10. colin, got the pictures of the hares you sent that 6 inch stop loop is good as all ten were released , snared rabbits this morning , had a problem with a fox, when skinning the rabbits later i noticed that the inside of the pelts were pure white like winter pelts, not bluish like they are normally at this time of the year, once again the 6 inch stop loops work great on them eliminatingany trauma around the head. there are around 150 snares on tealers here for you, you will have to put the twined pegs on yourself. been busy with the new keeper, catching lots of magies, and crows in the larsons w
  11. matt, you would need an elephant and forty troopers to carry a dozen of those monstrosities, the british have developed the best mole traps in the world, and we also have the best mole trappers, you would need wimpy to dig those into the ground, its most obvious that whoever devised it knows nothing about mole trapping, i could just imagine wayne, and old bob merrins having to use these.
  12. ihave snared many a location like that one in the picture micky, on exactly the same type of morning brrr. it brings back many memories, the days before were fine and mild for setting them out, and a hard white frost would creep in in the early morning hours, the ground up here is still solid, and snow still lying in areas, are you keeping well, snareman.
