I'm from canada, new to snaring, and agree, thats quite a goofy video, do you think one of you gents could make a short vid, to set the world straight? i'd love to see one from the masters!!

I have a racoon and 3 squirrels that are all nicely salted up and drying well. Now this sounds all good, except for the fact that i have no idea what to do now. I would like to tan these hides for myself. I do not intend to sell them. So how can i preserve these hides, and make them supple leather? any help would be greatly appreciated.

snareing on tattie fields

you can set snares anywhere there are runs , i snare them running up the vertical faces of dry stone walls at times its quite easy onece you gain experience . and you don,t set snares between the beats , you set them right across the middle of the beat . snareman how do you set up a snare in the middle of a field? do you use a wire hoop or a stake and tealer or what? -

Basically if you can see the runs just treat it like a grass field. I think you would have to use the GSW type snare set up as anything else would be a bit obvious. Take care pal, ian. What is a GSW type snare? -
hey buddy, d'you think you could post a pic of your snare pole?

okk thanks alot, i'll put them higher, any other tips or tricks? ive been attempting to snare for about a month and its getting sort of frusterationg lol but i guess if i payed closer attention to snareman's instructions it may be less frusteration -
had a lil trouble catching squirrels, took a few pics in hopes that you guys could help me determine my flaw this one was on a branh leaning to the ground from a tree, definately was hit this one is leaning way over, i know it wasnt left like that, but doesnt mean a squirrel hit it i guess this one's leaning over too this is how im setting them thanks for all the help in advance!!

cant buy a cable snare so am having to resort to brass snare wire, the only thing sold around here will 21 gauge be enough for coons?
-
how many squirrels have you got so far?? how do you set your snares and where?
-
well we set up 12 of these today we didnt put the snares on so that the squirrels can get comfortable with 'em we'll snare 'em up in a few days we baited them with bird seed...do squirrels eat bird seed? ;

so it's just for fine tuning? does it affect the performance of the snare?
-
what is the advantage of using a tealer instead of just a stick?
