  5. what a set up you have there Blacktabs, you certainly know your onions mate ...... when the wife first started she thought her main pest was going to be the Rabbits and Pigeons, its now turned out to be the Moles!! I tried Gasing them yesterday with the old strimmer motor and pipe so hopefully this has helped a little if not I'll take your advice .... Its pretty disheartening when you go down there and see the Moles has pushed fresh shoots up through the top of the soil. there's plenty more digging here to get one with and no doubt tons of large stones that will need moving......
  6. I have to say I was shocked when Obama was elected to be the next president of the USA. I never thought the American people would tollerate it, If we look back in history we all know what happened to the last black Wannabe.... I get the impresion if he was running against a higher quality oposition during the run of the election he wouldn't be sitting in the whitehouse now..............
  7. My missus had one set up in the old place before we moved! she's now crazing me to put it back up again here. Its not as big as the one you've got there and probably around 15 x 10 but boy did she grow alot of Veg in it, I raised the beds and filled with some nice rich soil and Horse Manuer and she did the rest.. Here's a few pic's of her set up, there was a few things altered with it later on like making the doors open outwards and narrowing the walkway. I'll ask her if she has any tips later and get some posted up....
  8. Just a couple more pictures showing the other side that needs clearing. also getting loads of trouble with Moles just tunneling under the surface wrecking the plants, I can't find any mole hills just tunnels right underneath where we have just planted. I have tried a old scissor trap and a few tunnels traps but the soil crumbles and caves in as soon as you disturb it, has anyone got any advice how to get rid of them? I have a old smoker here I used fo rattling made from a old strimmer engine! will this do the job? cheers Jasper
  9. Still working on ours here. the land has been hardwork due to the amount of stones! you can take out a couple of Barrows of large stones from digging every 6ft.... so far we have a planted Goosberries, Rasberries, Black and Red Currant bushes, Lettuces, Potatoes, Runner Beans, Carrots and swiss chard and a few other bits and peices. we still have lots to do clearing nettles, Brambles and the other crap around the pit bordering the garden but I'm sure in time we'll get its it sorted, also have to put up the wifes Polly tunnel she had up at the old place ..... I'll get some better pic's
  10. a good few years back I stuck a old Redtail hawk out on his bow with a dead Rabbit on the edge of some woods, he sat there quite content pulling at his Rabbit and atracted a vast amount of corvids into him who couldn't resist a bundle.. Me and a pal came away with 20 odd mainly crows, I can't remember the full amount as it was in the 90's but boy did we have some sport ...... also these calls are the Bollocks! I picked one up for myself and with some practice now have it down to a tee, if you watch this vid through to the end when he gives the proper demonstration you will hear how acc

Jayjay I'm not sure about some other BOP but I'm certain and witnessed it myself a friends young Goshawk drop into a Pheasant pen by accident nailing a poult! only to leave that poult and nail another one running at the fence and go off on another frenzy to nail another, This bird was a young bird of the year still going through its adolecent stage wanting nail anything that moves. most trainned accipters are the same when fit and in hunting condition!! its also not unusual for a trainned Gos to take a crop and still bate off at other quarry before its put its crop over...... On the Bu

  21. There's a track in one of the local woods which must be near on 1/2 Mile round, My lad has been going round there on a old Claude Butler Mountain bike which is getting smashed to bits. I took a walk over there the other weekend for a look and nearly shit myself watching him blast down these tracks just missing trees and going over small jumps, I now make him wear my old MX helmet since I have seen how dangerouse it is.... Here's some of the bikes he likes but he must be having a laugh!! I thought a couple of hundred quid at the most and nearly passed out when I looked at the prices...
