the forum has now been opened to the public. one thing the Pictures you download through the forum won't be seen but if you bang them on useing Photobucket or whatever then they'll stay up for all Guests to see........ I Can't see it being much of a problem to be honest! beleive it or not I joined a caravaning forum after searching on the net for a electrical fault, I was able to read a few public threads which baited me to join and get the info I wanted..... Its now open to all sorts! anti's and all, then again I should think their is a few joined the forum anyway in stealth mode ..

The good thing is Guests can read topics and take part in the debate after they join, like dangling a Carrot. the other good thing is if someone is wanting some info on a Hunting topic or whatever and bang it in their search engine, if its been discussed on THL it will come up! they will then be able to read and join the forum if they want to add their bit to the discussion..... The Net is full of info on open forums these days...............

Had a simular thing with the Air Ranger Bill. the barrel on these are secured by 4 Grubs screws! 2 at the bottom of the action and 2 at the top, each time I picked the gun up I would spend time zeroeing the rifle only to find the next time I picked it up the gun was shooting all over the place. It turned out the two awkward screw underneath the action was the culprits which came loose. I finally removed the the 6 screws securing the top of the action and off it all came. the Barrel screws was then tipped with some Locktight and re-tightend in sequence, I must admit I took one look at thes

I must admit Wurz I would normaly eat all the pigeons I shoot but this time of the year they're all fed to the birds and youngsters, they're a good Natural diet for Peregrine chicks, the quirrels I shoot go to the Goshawks........ I'm a bit partial to roast pigeon mate normaly, deep down I'm gutted quartering them up for the birds...... Jasp

Nice one Wurz Before I picked up the last rifle I did a bit of homework on the Rapids, Daystate's and the BSA guns. a pal of mine a good few years ago had a Rapid 17 with a Gary Kane stock which was a cracking gun but I fancied somthing different and went for a .177 Daystate Air Ranger. Don't get me wrong this gun its pretty lethal giving me a good 250 shots no problem but when shooting freehand pointing up trees it weighs a ton over 10lb;....... I can't complain Wurz as the gun is still dropping a good few Pigeons for me and keeping the freezer topped up but I now probably fancy a cha

Been checking out the steyr on the net and youtube over the last couple of days, Its hard to find a good field test/review on the rifle? apart from the odd numpty who don't seem to know what they are doing it seems a seriouse peice of kit... I must admit I love a bit of wood on my guns but I could suffer in silence with this gun, at the end of the day I want a gun that bangs out a good few hundred shots on one charge, one thats not too heavy and reliable. I must say this thing ticks a whole lot of boxes for me..... would love to talk to someone who has one of these or read a good revi

its was Nuked and as good as cooked on one when I picked it up, still can't beleive it caught the field alight ........ Just goes to show how some of the forest/Field fires could well get started...............

One almighty bang last night with the power cutting out for a few seconds turned out to be one Fried Gosling laying under the power lines..... around 10 mins after the power we took a wander to where I heard the bang only to hear crackling coming from the field behind the house, looked over the hedge to see it was well alight, the underkeeper finally arrived to help put the fire out and this was the result. one Gosling was laying under the wires still smoking and virtually cooked! it seems unbeleivable that this generated so much heat it caught the corner of the field alight... took th

wish you had stayed in my caravan Tony and cleared the little Batards up, I never thought they could get in but they seem to have squeezed their way in through a small vent, there's Mouse crap everywhere on the floor. I connect the 12v Battery and switch the water pump on it blows a fuse, I even tried bypassing the fuse with the battery to see if the pump would work and yep it worked for about 10 seconds before it started melting the earth wire on the battery terminal, its got to be mice munched some of the wires by the looks of it....

:clapper: what a cracking bit of kit Bill. I think you should be my personal advisor because that presses all the right buttons, I'll look this one up on the net and see whats they say about it........ Its a shame that Airarms don't bring out a buddy bottle Pre Charge! I like their rifles includeing the springers just a shame the pre-charge guns don't hold many shots per charge... I'm doing my nut here at the moment working on the caravan water pump! it worked perfect when it was stood up in storage, since then I have noticed a fair few mouse droppings al over the place so I'm thinking

Nice one mate its good to hear from you and see you're showing mo mercy with that rifle of yours. I know what you're saying about the R10! I think Zini got himself a cracker but I have read some Horror stories, then again! I have heard plenty about this the Air Ranger I have here, don't get me wrong its a cracking rifle and gets the job done but there was a few niggly things with the Barrel shroud and Breach sealing washer that I didn't like, I re-tapped the threads on the barrel shroud housing to 3mm to make it more secure and fitted 0 rings along the barrel which helps cushion the shroud -

Good shooting Bill no prisoners taken there mate How do you rate the HW100 Bill? I'm asking as I fancy somthing a bit lighter than this gun, this weighs a tad over 10lbs scoped and fine when resting but this time of the year when I'm scanning with the scope through the folidge its a killer to hold up for long, there was a couple of guns I liked includeing the R10 but I do like the German Engineering when it comes to guns.......... atb Tony -
Couldn't agree more, having worked with both types of birds and flown Spars you have to say they are pretty limited in the size of quarry they can take, having said that a trained spar will take on quarry a wild spar otherwise wouldn't dream of taking, The biggest head of quarry I have ever personally even taken with a spar was a Collard Dove, I know they will take on quarry up to the size of a Carrion crow on their day and wittnessed a pals Hawk do it regular from out of the car window, then again it always had him running in to assist the hawk! if he wasn't about I have no idea what the outc

Probably would of been better off with a female spar at the Magpies! a pal of mine had a Imprint Kes a good few years back which did bind to a Magpie totaly by chance but soon let it go again, its a fair handfull for a Kestrel......... Jasper
