  1. :clapper: Now if you promise to be good and come back on the forum I will loan you a nice Finnish x German Female in the aviary that some tit asked me to Imprint and let me down on it, Its been dish and carcass fed as they do and tame as a robin. Its funny as I even had somone seriously ask if they could take it and fly it and give it to me back at the end of the season, I've hardly spoke to the bloke so what planet does he think I come from.... Ring me when you get 5 mins you quail shagger ......
  2. Mammies Boy!! you was probably still shitting Yella back then ............ yep its a cracking signature picture but couldn't manage to take it myself and fly the bird at the same time. some Numpty took it when he was invited down for a few days ............
  3. Remember that one Shay! cracking way to get the breats off them pigeons. Have to say I don't like my Pigeons cooked as Rare as old Ramseys, I like to see mine cooked through ...... Jasper
  4. Can't stand the squirrels mate after my Nuts! but boy have I had some nice pairs of Tits hanging on my nuts and seed stick in the past ....... Jasp

  6. Just shows what a total Numpty I am mate as I never knew it existed  ....... Right then chaps you've all got one now ......... Jasper.
  7. Nice one Guys! I'm now finding time to play guns again. Just managed to pop a mate of his off which was Nibbling mores nuts but this time they was on the Beech tree, this one was a little smaller but a little further but I was also leaning against the edge of the shed so the shot was easier. I'm now totaly ripped to shreds trying to retreive him from his final resting place the brambles, here's him and his pal from earlier....... Jasper PS. Bill! I must be getting old mate but whats a slut button ......
  8. Looked out of the landing window today to watch this crafty tree rat skipping across the bottom hedge row heading towards a couple of small hazle trees. Unfortunatley by the time I got the pea shooter out and scanned out of the window he had moved on, I walked out in the Garden to within a good 30 yds scanning the trees and there he was stretching out eating my nuts, took aim in the usual manner from a crouching position and missed him big time.... thankfully this didn't seem to worry him too much and it wasn't long before he was out nibbling my nuts again, this time I sqeezed the trigger
  9. spot on Davey! cracking read and footage of a good genuine days shooting.... Mind you I know alot of people who get the shooting but can't manage a bag like that in a month of sundays! all credit to you pal the man behind the gun...... atb Jasper
  10. First of all Wurz Cracking shooting Pal! no prisoners taken there mate...... whatever is this country coming to when things like this happen, Ok with the wake of a couple of disasters in the last few months I can understand the police being on full alert but I have heard this happening now on a good few occasions before these disasters.... I read one story of a lad Decoying in his Permision, he dropped a pigeon and walked from the hide to collect the bird only to hear a shout from the trees near by to drop the gun and lay flat on the floor, the guy said they roughed him up a fait bit k
  11. the problem is having experience with Hawks makes it tempting to cut corners, I can't speak for some other falconers but many time when I take up a bird its a bit of a Rush job now. there's alot to be said about any knew up and coming falconer who has done his homework. most genuine New falconers are full of enthusiasm putting a great deal of time into their Hawks, they tend to do everything possible by the book if not seek advice to help them, this has to be a good thing! I've seen and heard of some cracking first time P/R Goshawks with much credit to a new Goshawker..... By the way
  12. when I started there wasn't any Falconers in the area or any that I knew! its was mainly picking up books from the library and gleaming the information jotting down bits and peices in a diary. one of the first guys I came into contact with was Ron Digby apart from other lads I used to fly with with limited experience, the next guy who helped me out alot was Bob Haddon who was a good seasoned shortwinger and the first guy to captive breed Goshawks in this country in the mid 70's..... I flew a good few Kestrals and Spars and a Redtail before finally picking up my first P/R Gos in 93 bre
  13. Had a old Vulcan MKII hanging around the cuboards and loft for a good few years but finally decided to tidy it up a little with a new breach washer and spring after I moved, Its a cracking springer well upto the 12ft/lbs limit but unfortunatly has a pretty solid single stage trigger! then again I suppose 90% of them did back then.... the gun after a pretty minor refurb accounted for a few pigeons and squirrels in the area before I made my life a little easier with a pre-charge.... 14. Yep you're right its fast action sport with a Goshawk sam which can't be compared with a Broadwing or HH's, its all a diiferent ball game and different styles of flight that each indivudual species is designed for, shortwinged Longtailed accipters and built for the explosive dash which like you say can be a seriouse adrenlin rush... I love the Gos's or I wouldn't breed them plus also flown a few but I now have to say I also enjoy the different styles of flight different species have to offer, these days I'm just as happy watching any fit bird do its job in the manner it was designed to do,
  15. I flew a male Retail when I was younger and have to say I had some cracking sport with the bird, fittness was the key but once he was fit he would take on the most ridiculouse long slips often sloop soaring out of trees ending in a quick turn and grab at the end of it, the bird was also pretty suicidal in the way it would drill itself in the ground dropping virtically onto quarry.... Ok he didn't have the blistering pace of a fit Gos but lets face it he wasn't a Accipter and wasn't designed for such bursts of speed which is why there should'nt be a comparison. I know this much!! on any giv
  16. There's a few people slated him for it! why I don't know as it seems a more sensible Hybrid compared to some I have seen and heard of like Prairie x Kestrel and a good few silly tribrids...... Best of luck to the guy I recon it will be a cracking bird in the right hands...
  17. Nice one pal! Just got back from a f*****g good Indian meal. its now time to go to bed for my proper present ........ Jasp
  18. Nice one Guys cheers ....... Hopefully the missus will give me a decent birthdays present later . Up until now it only been sock a pants as usual ......... Happy birthday to the other people on the forum with a Birthdays today... Jasp

    hi all

    you have a PM....
  20. You did right taking up a P/R bird josh! the reason I delayed telling you this Imprint finn x germ was available was because these imprints do my head in as I'm sure it would have you in the end. I'm a bit of a Hypocrite as I have lots of the bloody things but not for a flying point of view...... I'll pull the female I kept back after the school holidays when the kids go back, I wish it was a male to be honest as it was a male off this particular bird I wanted, its a old original Bob Haddon line hitting the 4lb mark in the aviary, a pal had a male off her last year which came out of the av

    hi all

wish I could help you mate but I have no idea, I have a couple of 12 week old Harris's here still in the Aviary with the Finnish Gos that Foster reared them, the trouble is I'm miles away from you but they can both go for a song, if you know anyone who is interested PM me....... Jasper
  22. Nice Bird Josh Bred by Keith Barker in Ireland, Its not 100% Guaranteed to be Pure Finnish Josh as he has mentioned to you, it could well have come off 3 different males which isn't a problem as it will be a decent bird either way! but I thought all this time you was looking for a small female such as a german........ if its pure or not you'll still have some fun with it from some decent lines . Jasp
  23. Can't say myself why some posts are deleted or removed when all they need is tidying up a bit with any dodgy posts removed? Ok other mods might disagree but I have mentioned this before when perfectly legitimate threads have vanished off the forum just because one Numpty f****d it up with a single post, its so simple to just remove the offending posts and let the thread to run! Deleting good legitimate threads ruins the whole idea of a forum..... Its only a opinion and all in all I support the whole Moderating team but I have to say many times I'm reading a thread and for some silly reason
  24. I feel for you pal as deep down I know a Goshawk can be a handful but certainly not out of reach of any first time falconer with his head screwed on. Imprinted Goshawks seem to be the trend these days which isn't rocket science to get out and fly although allot will tell you otherwise, I have a young female Finn x German here I'm swapping with a pal off the forum! she's been socialy Imprinted, Dish and Carcass fed and now around 48 days old, Its as tame as a Robin and wants to follow me and just generaly be with me and the rest of the family, I'm certain this bird won't take much to be taken u
