Cracking Pictures Gary! all I could see was a Hedge with a rifle poking out of it , I must admit they do look spot on and well worth the money pal, I was looking at the Jack Pyke Ghillie a few weeks back which took my eye.... the other thing I liked the look of is them portable hides or Bivvies? atb Jasper

Good luck Gary! I'm sure you'll down a fair few . thats one thing we lack around here <Magpies>, the two keepers seem to keep them well in check but I must admit the place is crawling with Jays screeching and giving my position away.... ATB Jasp

Cheers all for the replies . didn't do quite so well tonight!! took a walk to where the Rabbits lay out and had a sitter tucked just in the edge of the woods about 25 Yards away, I could swear I was on him but missed totaly! Its the ground shots I struggle with big time and need to get some practice in on some ground Targets...... Nice one Bill!! struggling a fair bit with the birds mate but hopefully with some decent weather things will come good , a few have settled better than others... No tea Parties yet mate! I'm still the black sheep here at the moment trying to win over the loca

The stocks coming up a treat Darryl. I'm looking forward to reading this one pal with the revival of a old classic! should keep you occupied for a while mate but it will all be worth it ....... atb Jasper -
Nice one Davy cheers I totaly adore the Mamba even though the windage turrets is a little stiff! I don't think its to much of a problem as it holds zero ok and adjusts windage perfect! I won't contact the guys at MTC unless it gets alot worse. I'm well chuffed too mate with the light gathering capabilities of this scope when the mags turned down! no doubt about it they're lovely scopes.... Time for you to get out and thin out Bugs Bunny and his pals I reckon Davy, I'm sure you'll rattle off a fair few when you get the time.... atb Jasp I know mate we do eat a fair

Its a bit Pellet Fussy but on its day its pretty lethal! then again I think most of the Pre Charge are are, if I had one gripe it would be the weight! its a fair lump at over 10Lbs to be shooting Freehand at some of the angles into the canopy of the trees.... All in all though I'm a happy chappy ... No mate I like eating them but they all go in the freezer and quartered up for Pet food .......

Boy did I have to earn this Baby! two or three times he came in above the Larson to see his mate but was out of Range, he finally came in and gave me a long shot and down he came shot just under the Cranium, also shot a pigeon in the swede the other day which I forgot about .... Jasp

Great Post Tris .... Far to many Nobheads take on shots when they can't Gurantee a clean kill or at least stop the quarry in its track until dispatched, seen and read it all before with lads just aiming at the quarry and squeezing the trigger without any thought of placing a shot...... All respect to our Quarry weather it be Vermin or not! from a sporting point of view where would be without it? Punching holes in paper and Tins I suspect .... Jasper

Look like you've had some good sport their Mick!! Top bombing Pal ..... I was out with a lad in the earley 90's with a female Harris flying on a Rabbit infested bit of land, the problem was their was a Public footpath along the Boundary with a oldish guy and woman walking a Labrador, the Harris left the tree and soared across to a tree above where they was walking and Bang!! Nailed it by the head, All I could hear was the dog yelp and the bloke shouting "Its a f*****g Eagle! Its a f*****g Eagle", thankfully the bird just cut the Labrador over the second time and came back! at that time tea

As you probably know they are all different Daniel . the bird in the picture came out of the aviary a tad under 2lb 8, but a brother to this bird which perhaps could well of been the same weight may fly heavier or lighter, some birds have faster metabolisms than others! you also have to look how the bird was reared and the techniques used through out the Manning and trainning, all this would have a bearing on the outcome of the birds flying/hunting weight!! you also have to remember that these weights are not static and change due to weather and condition of the bird.... I looked in a old

Here you go pal! I wasn't that old back then in my earley twenties I would think. the male would fly all day every day at 2lb 3, but Hunted at its best at around 2lb 1, the top weight was a tad under 2lb 8 kitted out.... This is not to say the rest will fly at this as they all different even if they come out the same weight... Jasper

You've been pretty unlucky there pal if the bird was free lofted, My old female is near on 18 and the male of the pair is 21 and lucky for me I have had no problems, they're both housed in a 12 x 10 by 8 high enclosure fully enclosed. I have heard of this Happening many times with birds bowed out in weathering or whatever but I think Trappa's questions was bang on asking if she was Wet in the weather, I can't Imagine any HH not getting problems in this chill if its wet or Damp.... Sounds like she took a bang from the Buck mate!! you've probably solved the case now .... Jasp

Yes mate I have used Steel shot for years! the problem is steel doesn't hold the same energy, the same size shot in Lead will weigh more and consiquently hold more energy at distance, you'll find with steel if you use the same load as you would lead it falls a bit short at range, I compensated for it useing <32 Gram Loads Size 5>, If I was useing lead it would normaly be a 28 - 30 Gram Load size 6..... The only reason I go up to 32 Gram is to fill the Pattern after going up a shot size, I gave a local lad 75 steel shot recently while he was Roost shooting, he came back with 7 and tha

Nice to see you had a proper Calibre outfit out today pal Top Bombing mate and some more points on the board! I had a wander today but I think I need to start jumping in the car to Investigate some other woods, they're all getting a Tad spooky near to home now plus the Grey squirrel population has taken a fair knock ....... atb Jasp

Can't say I go alot on his clean kill record. It don't look like many crows there to me. so far all I can see is the guy walking round a Rookery shooting squabs and parent birds and the odd Jackdaw!! I think I prefer something a little more sporting than shooting birds off nests and youngsters that hardly fly ...... I wouldn't want the DVD is someone gave it to me....... Jasper

Top Bombing there Davey!! told as it is . the Thwack as the pellets struck home reminds me when I used to read the Old Airgun World when Rod Lynton did some stories of his days Hunting, wonder what happend to this guy? when I was a Teenager I loved reading his write ups... The FTT certainly seem a nice Pellet!! I loved them in the old Falcon Raptor I used to have and I tried a tin with this gun in .177 and they shot nice and steady, to be Honest I Have no idea why the fook I keep trying different brands, Probably a bit of a pellet fetish I have got into..... atb Jasp

Hello Sib The gun is a .177 Daystate Air Ranger, it shhots pretty accurate on its day with the right Pellets but its pretty heavy to be shooting freehand when after Squirrels or Woody's... Cheers Jasp Nice one Shay . I'm going to definitley give them FX pellets a try mate, I have heard alot about the quality of them although I do like the bisley mags, the only problem with the Bisleys is they do seem to Lob a fair bit at decent Ranges. the other Pellet that shot well out of this gun was the Field Target Trophy but seemed a bit soft.... I accupells a try today and

top man Andy cheers for the reply pal to be honest mate I was a bit gutted when I saw the readings and the variations but you have put my mind at rest now... cheers Jasp

Finally got a new toy to play around with and was pretty astonished over a 10 shot cycle quite how much variation I was getting , there was near on 10FPS on some shots, here was one of the tests firing off 6 shots.... BISLEY MAGS 10.4 Grains 1 = 704.2 2 = 696.7fps 3 = 700.9fps 4 = 697fps 5 = 692.1fps 6 = 698.4fps Jasper

My wife prefers the Middle Finger!! she recons it slightly longer and thicker sliding nicely round the curve <Trigger that is>...... Can't see anything wrong with useing the Middle finger mate! if its comfortable and you're hitting the target then use it .... atb Jasp

No doubt about it Thatcher was a bitch with alot of decisions. when I was at Primary school we would always get a bottle of milk and straw at break and dinner, she soon put a stop to that and was labeled "Thatcher Thatcher the Milk snatcher" this was just many of her big mistakes. but I must admit she definitely wore the red/white and blue flag on her sleeve when it came to chrisis decisions, it was her who gave the order to sink the Argie ship General Belgrano, it was her apparantly who said "No Prisoners" when the SAS did the job on the Iranian embassy to free hostages.... No doubt about
