  1. I can't see the first season game reared birds certainly ain't much sport Dean.. my garden is full of them even now which are easily aproached but not my scene taking somthing out with a air rifle that virtually stands infront of me. when I lived out Lincolnshire there was plenty of genuine wild Pheasants which was a different story, they seemed smaller than these game reared birds but also very flighty, you won't see these standing about when humans are in the vicinity......... 2. had a bit to do with the Arab Maktoum family. also spent a bit of time and been Deer shooting with the Horse racing tipster Colin Davey! he's probably not famouse but certainly has a good few Million in the bank. he also showed me some of his cars which he called "Toys" included a Mclaren F1 and a Roller with personalised plate saying "Colin" the guy's down to earth and loves his field sports.
  3. definitly more gamey than our Euro Kestrals Mac. cracking little birds on their day
  4. I was a bit of a mamby pamby back then Craigy .. no mentors in those days!! lots of hard reading under the bed covers with a torch when I should have been sleeping ready for school in the morning ..........
  5. I had a few when I was a lad, this is the last one I had when I was about 16, 1980 -81. Can't say I ever took anything like a Pigeon whicjh would have been a handful for a little fella flying at 6 1/4oz's but remember one of mine taking a Blackbird along a hedge on the school field, it wasn't planned but he wanted it and took it. I have never had one repeat it but a pal had one slam into a Magpie but quicly let go again.... Note the expensive Falconry gardeners glove and the Hawking flight jacket
  6. This is a Haunting Solo - Leslie West...
  7. Nice one Watchman sounds like you're mates bird is on a mission mate. Good luck to him for the season , you must be wanting one now mate? be warned its very adictive .......
  8. some top Guitarists . Surprised Pete Townsend didn't get a mention? still think the ultimate Guitar showman still alive today is Angus Young, he might not be the best but the guys been doing it since the 70's and still running around like a school kid now the solo in this track 3.20 mins in is sublime...
  9. You can make a decent job of a Goshawk flying it 4 - 5 days a week, as for getting it fit its a different matter and obviously depends on how hard you fly it while in the field. if the bird spends more time on the fist than on the wing while walking about then you can fly it 7 days a week and you'll still have a unfit hawk. Good land and plenty of quarry is everything, the bird will be Guaranteed slips buidling up condition and fitness levels, the good thing here is the bird gets fit chaseing quarry and you get fit chaseiing and keeping up with the bird . a fit Goshawk will cover some gro
  10. Here's another climber with balls of steel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmxMi0BtHnU&feature=player_embedded
  11. What you're favourite or all time Guitarist? Still think Angus is the best, he must be getting on a bit now but the guy can still bring the house down . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzgybJpkClc&feature=related
  12. thats a dirty trick mate.... Get onto Ebay and have your fees held back due to non payer. definitely let people know he's a messer on his feedback like Malt mentioned........
  13. The weather here hit 28-29 Degrees in some areas at the begining of October . the missus runner beans started to flower again and some of the birds in the aviaries also started to display. Gos knows whats happend to the seasons, we get late summers running in Autumn these days messing up natures internal clock......... they're also predicting snow end of October.........
  14. Thought this was a handy site Just seen a Fishing Rod Holdall made by this place and have to say the quailty is outstanding, compared to some of the top makes available this bag had quality stamped through it from top to bottom. He also does: Bespoke Hunting & Shooting Bags , Gunslips, Lamping Belts, Pigeon Decoy Bags, Fishing Tackle Bags , Bait Boat Bags , GTI Specialist Luggage Padded Protection Bags , Leather Holsters, Equipment bags. http://www.gtimatchman.co.uk/

    flying mews

this is not a good picture but it gives a rough idea of the weatherings by the side of the aviaries, they're 5ft high at the front and Drop to 4.5ft at the back by 6ft deep, each weathering is also 5ft wide. I used the Galvinised security fences cut to size with a angle grinder for the fronts ..........
  16. Cometh The Moment.... Cometh The Man....
  17. totaly agree Lab.... surely just the blast alone would have sat him on his arse if it was for real
  18. One thing that gives me the arse is the supermarket truck that cruise along at 40MPH in a 60 zone . whats this all about? we was travelling the other day and everything slowed down so I took it a tractor was holding everyone up, nope! it was a Tesco Lorry............
  19. Success come's with other people's failures.....
  20. Think they could have added another 10MPH on to it to be honest. looking at the cars and the capabilities they have these days 90MPH shouldn't have been a problem. the pnly thing that gets me is the National single carriageway speed limit is still set at 60 until you get on the motorways and then you can do , surely it would make sense to up this too?
  21. I totaly agree with what you said Grovesy . its too late now as I have now had this dog for near on five years but I have to say if I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have chosen a Brittany. Ron Digby has one which is a dark dog! he's a cracking worker with his falcons but not the best looker, I also saw another on a field meet at Elvedon and have to say it was a funny looking thing with tufted up ears . I would love a ESS if someone brought it on a bit for me, I don;t think these days I could take on a pup ... Jasp
  22. Quitter's Never Win... Winner's Never Quit.........
  23. Got to say Mine's not a bad looker for a Brittany, I've seen some seriouse Ugly one's but mine's like Marlyn Munroe compared to them Can't speak for others but mine points for England, she's got a cracking pointing instinct and will point game all day long but I'm fooked if I would have another one . I've had a few dogs in my time but never come across one quite to Hyper as this thing, don't get me wrong it will work all day if you ask it but how often would I fly a hawk all day? I seen a couple of spaniels work with birds and they take some beating, but they can also be pretty full o
  24. Cracking write up Tony . Good to see you doing what you do best, I for one certainly missed seeing you about and reading your posts bud ............. atb Jasp
  25. Hello Eddie some cracking shots their mate . I have been played up a good few times on here and off pals for shooting a so called Girly Calibre .177 . nice to see a .177 calibre in good hands doing a job they're more than cappable of doing. I zeroed my Ranger in long ago with FTT's at around 40yds'ish, I can still put the shots in the box out to 55 no problem without any holdover, one of the joys of the .177 calibre . atb Jasp
