The fields next to my house are grazed by meat cows so a bit more aggressive than a nice sedate milk cow. A few weeks back one charged at the fence alongside the lane when I was walking the dogs ... She broke two strands of the barbed wire fence and then backed off ... Luckily all my dogs are completely broken to them and just looked at her looked at me and carried on walking ... They are a big old beast to upset .......

As has been said its a growing pup and needs its grub and even more so when it starts to do a bit ... I don't know what you feed but when a pup starts doing a bit I normally change over from mainly chicken to mainly fatty beef so that the dog can get its extra energy from the fats and the proteins from the meat will go to build the dog .......

Honey won't make any difference for a strain which is why she is coughing as its not and irritating cough ... Good grub to help her heal and rest for a week and she will be back to normal ... Very rarely a strain can become infected but as I said that's very rare ... Just keep an eye on her and once she is right build up her fitness steadily ... Apart from my dogs having to work all,year round this is another reason I have never let my dogs rest through the summer .......

Metacam is an anti inflammatory and has nothing to do with treating kennel cough ... As I thought she has worked to hard and strained ... A weeks rest and she will be fine ... Just build her fitness up slowly and it won't happen again ......
