  1. I'm one of those people who doesn't believe at all, but I wouldn't be surprised if I have a little pray as I lie on my deathbed just in case, lol My take on religion is that it's like communism, a great idea in principle that can never work in practice because human nature dictates that someone always wants more than the next man.
  2. This is what really pisses me off about the whole thing, I made a mistake by putting it face down but have sent them all the info off the ticket that there is and still it's not enough. They are hoping I've thrown it in which case I'd have no choice but pay. but I've been taken by them before and won't get caught again. I'm not going to send a photocopy though because I don't possess a copier and I'll be f***ed if I'm making a special journey for them. I'll take a photo and send the real thing so then when they say it's not arrived I'll have proof still..
  3. I got a parking ticket on Friday when I mistakenly put it face down on my dash. The warden was just putting it on the windscreen when I got back to the van and I showed him it was legal in the vain hope he was vaguely human but all I got was the usual bullshit and told to email the parking office to clear it up. This I did on Monday, giving the 2 ticket reference numbers I can see, the time it was bought and the time it ran out and today I've recieved a letter saying I now need to send a photocopy of the ticket or pay up. So this means I've now got to photocopy the ticket, buy an envelope and
  4. Did the missus take the picture? It looks to clear for one of yours
  5. If I heard the guy right on the news he said there was a hole in the ceiling that the snake came through, yet the flat is above the pet shop so how could that happen? Something not right there,
  6. Mine has a much smaller percentage of Beddy than yours but at 12 months he was almost pure black and smooth coated. Now he's rough coated with a lot of grey in there, so I think yours may end up the same,
  7. Tell him if he's selling them, wilf will buy them, he buys shite like that classic mate
  8. I just looked at our toaster and if my dick was small enough to fit in there I'd be more embarrassed about that to be honest.
  9. It depends on how good a trainer you are imo. I love mooching with the dog and gun but I'd never be able to call mine a gundog. He'll retrieve anything I shoot and has a good nose so puts stuff up well, but if it's something that runs it's no good me expecting him to just sit back and let me shoot it. and If I was to take him pigeon shooting he'd have the hide over every time I let the gun off too. But as I say that's down to me rather than him. he suits me as he is and I enjoy the mooch.

  11. You're a shoo in for a part in walking dead mate

  13. Had this happen to me a while back. My dogs 4 and has always been a bit wary of other dogs but has lamped and ferreted with quite a few without problems, and doesn't need to be put on the lead if someone comes along dog walking. Went ferreting with a guy off here with no problems till we had our first rabbit, which was put on the floor near his whippet bitch. Mine went for a sniff and I tried to grab him by the scruff of the neck to stop him and 3 seconds later the whippet was squealing with 2 holes in her throat and a nasty tear in her chest. Mine just picked her up, shook her and tossed her
  14. Thats the best picture I've ever seen from you mate, all that practice is paying off
  15. Tbh I think you are doing the right thing mate. I see people all the time walking dogs that are kept on a lead like that and can't think of a worse life for a dog with a bit of go in it. I could walk my lurcher miles on the lead and he wouldn't be tired, just bored, and my sons terrier which is similar to yours would still be hyper after walking all day. It's not just the exercise, running free, mooching about, and sniffing everything keeps a dogs brain exercised too. The dog doesn't seem to have a manic prey drive from the video, so I would think a lot of non hunting people could take him o
  16. Sounds like most on thl
  17. I was looking at them earlier in the year, The bloke who does my mechanics said steer well clear if it was the 1,3 cdti, I can't remember what but one thing is a common problem and costs over a grand to repair. "They can be picked up cheap because no fecker wants them" were his words if I remember correctly. :D
  18. I just buy a long lead and cut it up. I get them from the local markets and they are 10-12 foot long and 3 or 4 quid, so you'd get at least 2 out of it.. Just put it through the collar, wrap one end round your hand and loose the other end when you see something. I find them easier to hold than rope, my dogs a big lad and when he sees something tends to pull and they save me having sore hands at the end of the night, As far as lamping goes don't expect too much to begin with, the dog won't know how to spot a squatter at the start and remember if the grass is longish you can see over it but th
  19. thanks for the help guys! its really helping and giving me ideas. i just want her working but i know it takes time, im gonna give her a while maybe start her in august on some younger ones just to give her the confidence. and in relation to cover theres a big open path about 30 yards wide and 100 yards long with holes on either side and the occasional winnie bush. which isnt the best bit cause of the lack of room, i will get her in the open fields on some of my permissions! any more advice is good help! thanks again guys There's your problem mate, on those dimensions even if a rabbit sits
  20. Whereabouts are the rabbits in relation to cover, are they only a few feet away from it? If she has had no chance of catching them she's thinks that its a waste of time, My advice would be to put her on the lead for a while when there are rabbits about and only let her off if she is odds on to catch. If anywhere you go gets mixy take her there for some easy catches, you need to make her believe she's going to catch if she puts a bit of effort in. Best of luck with her.
  21. I would think there are a lot like me, people who just love their dogs be they good or not so good. I'm too old to be taken in by what a lot of people write and don't feel the need to be out every night just to prove I'm a big hard lurcher man. Most times I'm happy with a daytime mooch, whether the dog finds anything or not. My main reason to be on here is to learn, and many members have the same twisted sense of humour as me, so I get a lot of laughs along the way. Something I've noticed in my many years on this earth is that I don't like fanatics of any description, people who live and bre

    Gazza

I read Jimmy Greaves autobiography years ago and he was close to being like Gazza is, he reckons he was an alcoholic from the moment he drank his first pint. His opinion is some people are that way and others not and I tend to agree, a mate of mine drank like a fish for 20 odd years, I've seen him drink a bottle of scotch and 6 or 7 pints in a night, yet the day he got married stopped almost completely and nowadays just has the odd pint.
  23. Bad backs are the wierdest things, I put mine out a couple of weeks ago. It was just a bit sore but for the next few days whenever I walked the dog I'd go maybe a quarter mile and then my calves would just lock up, and I'd end up walking 50 yards and having to rest for a couple of minutes. At it's worst my usual hour and a half stroll took three and a half and I was thinking blocked arteries and all that crap, but touch wood I'm back to normal again.
  24. The dog looks like what he is to me, a puppy. I can't wait to see him in 18 months time when that puppy fat has turned to muscle Ray. Best of luck with him mate.
  25. They didn't have fat guts, asthma or depression either
