  1. deff mate , was in it day but watch it now its nothing , to what films are around today. Only 1 film that ever shook me up , was the Devils with Oliver Reed , bloody hell the torture scenes , where break his legs, and put needles through tongue , i nearly walked out the cinema , even now today i still think the film is shocking Ken Russell at his best or in this worst Much preferred the book over the film, I think the film loses the point but then Kubrick did the same thing with the Shining... Also I heard the film is based on the American version of the novel that o
  2. Can we blame this in part, if not all, on the Conservative austerity measures? They cut £350m from legal aid funding because you know those dirty foreigners, right? The British public were told that these people were stealing benefits so the Tories, quite rightly, removed the capability for immigration cases... Only they cut pretty much every other section as well. From my basic understanding the hardest hit, in the cuts, was 'social welfare law.' Basically representation for the 99%. Legal representation is a third less, and legal advise is two thirds less. Unless I've misread it. I
  3. Let's have a Brexit do-over while we're at it.
  4. Firstly it's £30k not £300k Secondly this appears to be the link to his fundraiser page. It's a f***ing joke that he has to pay that bill, but people don't want to get active enough to fix these kind of injustices so he's just going have to hope enough people agree with him.
  5. She should abide by the referendum of her country people. Like with Brexit. You can't keep having a do over until you get the result you want.
  6. I've still got the telly but I watch either DVD's or Netflix. I got rid of satellite a few years ago and where I live we're not in range of anything for terrestrial telly. The internet isn't that great either, and I lose service when the winter months are raging! I buy books and DVD's. When the telly conks out I won't be buying another.
  7. Pull the plug completely! It's weird for a couple of weeks but you wonder why you hadn't done it sooner. You can probably find your favourite programs online anyway, only without the parts where people are trying to sell you shit...
  8. I can see both sides of this and I can agree with both sides of it. It's certainly a complex problem. You have a niche demographic that requires both empowerment and protection from exploitation. If you leave it to corporations you'll have an already marginalised community working for peanuts and post it notes. If you leave it to the government you'll end up with billions pissed down the drain as they completely mismanage it. It'll end up costing far more than minimum wage as the £90k managers spunk the funding into decorating their offices. How do you do it fairly though? Would it be
  9. I'm sure someone has a real deal working strain just ready for this occasion
  10. It's grim reading TOMO... Wikipedia summarizes it pretty well but the book is depressing.
  11. lol fair enough. I just find it kind of ironic in a thread containing the words 'biased' and 'media' that they'd try and link the two without providing anything that links the two. We're not to trust the MSM but that didn't exactly inspire journalistic confidence!
  12. I hear that. I don't donate to anything other than local causes after seeing what happened with a good chunk of that Live Aid money. Even recently the American Red Cross managed to raise half a billion dollars, for the earthquake relief in Haiti, and it's f***ing vanished...
  13. I still don't understand why people are sending money to Ewan McGregor. Is this a British thing? I know Nik. It clearly states in the article that Shaun Walmsley wasn't there, but the raid was connected with him, no? Are we saying the four men arrested are migrants despite it not being mentioned in any of the articles connected to the story? The third article mentions economic migrants but nothing about the arrests. Do you possess alternative facts, on the story? If so could you put them up?
  14. Alternative facts? The follow up article says these were arrested as part of a manhunt for a convicted murderer, from Liverpool. Saying that name Shaun Walmsley could be mistaken for Syrian origin...
  15. Nothing like a bit of folk music to rally the troops...

    Lord Teb

It's all well and good having your eyes opened but when are the people going to act on what they see? It doesn't matter whether they're elected, or not. Pulled out of a cereal box, or cobbled together from lumps of stone. Until they believe that the people they represent will threaten their livelihood they will do as they please. They know that Joseph Q Public is nothing more than an online activist. You still get the government you deserve.
  17. Even then it'll be too soft... Not like the real underground hardcore shit... like it was in their day...
  18. Sure they would. You're not suggesting they would cheat?!

  20. You can't see any of mine while I'm wearing a burka.
  21. I think it's great idea... Might as well make some cash out of it!
