  1. i dont deny that at all, trouble is with the snobbery of some of them that makes me laugh It"s allways been the same with lurchers/ferrets etc being seen as very working class and also with syndicates paying thousands of pounds to use a particular piece of land, bit different though when they"ve got trouble round the feeding pens and they want a terrier lad to come and help them out
  2. You can come across piles of spent cases everywhere,on one occassion some years ago I was walking over my local fields and 3 pigeon shooters were coming off the land and they"d not had a good day when a small flock of linnets took up and one of the guns just let cotter straight into them killing a number of birds. You"ll get good and bad in all sports
  3. Well said Roly, how are you pal? Good to see you again I"m good chap thanks
  4. My little whippet bitch has terrific nose on her and uses it extremely well, as has been said most dogs will have good nose but some will never really learn to use it being kept on slips waiting for the bolt
  5. Yep in a blink of the eye its gone, you enjoy
  6. To many idiots in it for the wrong reasons and they along with the ban have made it bloody difficult for the rest of us, if it wasn"t for the idiots we might not have the police taking as much of an interest as they are.

  8. She looks as though she was a very tidy bitch, gutted for you mate
  9. That was some tidy running, the third dog with the big slip was lucky to make it to its hare before it hit that cover but then did a fine job
  10. yep watching a dog on a good strong winter hare,it really gets the blood pumping but also when out after rabbits watching the bitch work cover and all the little tell tale signs that theres something close by and flush could come any minute or when ferreting and you get a mark that just tells you that somebody"s home Good thread by the way

And yet you see smithfield lurchers advertised from time to time lol Aye . . . . . you see a lot of stuff advertised . . . . . .but the words 'Tumbler' / 'Smithfield' are popular pieces of bullshit to label your dogs with. . . . .to reel the idiots in. 19. know what yea meen but yea hear of these dogs that can keep the presure on for five or six minutes non stop seen dogs do it for 3 or maybe 3and half but the dogs i seen run longer than that were clever dogs up the gears and down dont honestly know if it would be possible to keep the presure on any longer like to see it But thats how they keep the pressure on by going up and down the gears and when they do this with the right dog and the right hare lol you can get 5,6,7 minute courses
