  1. Good reply, its nice if your dog impresses other people BUT it doesn"t matter as long as your happy, I"ve seen to many "dogmen" swapping and changing dogs trying to impress there mates.
  2. As you say she looks a little under weight but thats something soon sorted and probably better that way than overweight for whelping. All the best with it and hope for a good out come for all concerned
  3. I"ve put older dogs down in the past and yes I"ve done it myself, was it right well in hindsight a few probably not but it was done quickly and painlessly with the dog not knowing what was coming. Nowadays I"m a bit older myself and looking forward hoping for a retirement in peace and good health and as I type this my 14 year old vizla who really is pretty much fecked but who has given me his all in years past is having a wander in the garden, he"s not in any pain and to be honest he"s earned his retirement. Must be an age thing because nowadays I think all my dogs as they grow older will ha
  4. It was always going to happen mate !!!! I to know the man well and class him as friend (thats made me a marked man again) and his premises are never anything but clean and his dogs in the finest of order and oh yes as fit as f**k.
  5. As I said a technical reason but I don"t doubt you"d dispute that and as to regards the other comment why not ask him!!!!
  6. So in essence asorbic acid (vitamin c) is of little or no use and generally not required so another one with no evidence to support it"s use, shame you didn"t google it!!! Shredded suet well possible benefits to this are increased energy levels so potentially of some use
  7. so what improvement have you seen in your whippets or do you use creatine because darren does. Did I say I use creatine????? do you or dont you,or do you just use the choc flav protien drink. To date I haven"t used creatine myself though it is something that I will give a try and monitor the results, I do currently use other supplements, B complex,B12 and codliver oil and yes I have used the protein powders after a hard workout to help with muscle build and electrolytes after running to help with recovery
  8. DG at the moment due to computor problems is struggling to get on here however those who want to why not join up on poachers rest and ask your questions directly and I"m sure that DG will be happy to answer. A statement he made to me in conversation one day impressed me when talking about supplements he said and I quote, "I just dont want to know what they do I want to know and understand why they do it." Now there are alot of folk out there who don"t even know what they do as has been shown in this and other threads in the past never mind why they do it, DG has his knockers but then aga

  11. Just to point out chocolate flavoured protien drinks have no chocolate or cocoa in however dogs seem to love the flavour/taste
  12. Don"t know about the price tag BUT they will definitely do the business without worrying about going to ground, you may if you look come across a cocker cross from an accidental mating thats not at silly money
  13. I"m sure if you look you"ll find what you want without breeding from your bitch and as has been suggested why not go with a cocker
  14. I have had good of both so dont have a preference
  15. Yep theres a lot of good dog men from all walks of life BUT appearances are important, turn up at a farm looking at least as though you belong in the countryside and you"ve got more chance of coming away with permission. You only get one chance to make a 1st impression!!!!!!
  16. Let her get on with it mate, as long as you don"t push her she"ll come to no harm and learning young like this at a young age will stick
  17. It doesn"t matter what the breed of dog it"s generally down to irresponsible owners!!!!!
  18. It does sound a bit of a freak accident and yes it does happen but I know many who have had running dogs for many years and have never had a loss, sorry for your loss time is a healer and I"m sure that a new pup would help to heal things.
  19. Aye mate, it was f*****g lovely..... I painted the walls a mint green, carpet a dark purple and the skirtings teracotta.......... Black leather suit...... honestly, it was the dogs bollox...... I wasn't allowed a dart board though so I gave it up..... And you"ve never collected those videos you left behind
  20. Over the years I"ve found that rabbit stocks on a particular piece of land can vary from year to year, a piece of land that one year can be your best spot the following season can be dead. Generally I would suspect that myxie would be a big factor in this and also this year the extremely bad weather we had in nov/dec will have been an extra factor.
  21. Sorry to hear this mate but it sounds as though you"ll have many happy memories
  22. The milky doe club has always had plenty of members but I think the feckers hibernate december/january then appear trying to make a name for themselves
  23. No your having selective memory, yes pup was there but it was my bitch who was running with sonny that day
