  1. Was just thinking the same FD. These lads who feel their chosen line or type of terrier need something should take a long hard look at their terriers.
  2. The answer to both of your questions is, Not one little bit.
  3. In the case of most terriermen there's usually only one line on the yard compared to other types of kennels who might have a few. So if a terrier man is lucky enough to spend many years working with the one line then "in theory" full brother to sister matings might only be carried out a couple or a few times in a lifetime. Whereas half brother to sister or father to daughter, granddaughter etc. might take place 2 out of every 3 breedings. Another reason it's considered more common.
  4. Funny enough Mossy, when I seen your comment I knew you were joking, but, when I seen the OP gave you a like I said I'd comment in case he took your advice. In saying that, a new comer to any kennel is usually a pain in the ass and it can often be the reason dogs get thrown from Billy to jack. General, the only reason that pup was quiet all night after you put your boot in it's bed was because it was unconscious. .
  5. Yep, that'll fix a terrier that's obviously stressed out, a boot up the hole ???????????????????????????????????????????????????
  6. Last week I sliced into strips some Pheasant and Wigeon breasts, shook them in a bag of seasoned spiced bread crumbs with a little oil, did them in the oven and had them in some fajitas with salsa or coleslaw. Very tasty indeed. Nice and simple and if you wanted to trick some friends or kids into trying game it would be a good way, LOL, lets face it, we've all done it.
  7. I used to study Pit Bull pedigrees 'till I'd be bleary eyed. Pit Bull fanciers in a way breed for what a lot of us in terriers should be breeding for, gameness. In terriers if you breed for gameness firstly then IMO nose, wind etc. etc. should follow. Studying these pedigrees you start to see a trend as to what sort of inbreeding is most successful over all and not just on one or two yards. Remember that on some of the larger yards of bulldogs more breedings might be done in one year than ten years on a terriermans yard (the way it should be) and pit bull fanciers need numbers. Two things
  8. Brilliant. The perfect poachers dog. Looking forward, while watching your back.
  9. Didn't realise You's didn't have them . . I'd say a female Sparrow hawk but you never know could of been a male Gos & if so your lucky . We have enough, LOL, any amount of Buzzards and the last few years our Spars and Kestrels have got rarer. Wonder why ? They're releasing Red Kites now and I have to say I like to see them. Then again, I used to like to see a Buzzard, but not 6 or 7 of them in a morning.
  10. FOR FUCKS SAKE. 354 DAYS 'TILL CHRISTMAS AND SOME OF MY NEIGHBOURS ALREADY HAVE THEIR CHRISTMAS LIGHTS UP.
  11. We don't have them over here but I've seen them in England, would it have been a Goshawk ?
  12. I haven't got EDRD in 4 years so maybe it's unfair for me to comment but when I was getting it last it usually had one article per month on actual terrierwork, and that was by DH himself. Have to say, I've always enjoyed his passionate articles. Whether they were 100% truthful or not mattered not to me. But back in it's hay day the mag was mostly terrier work. I know times and laws have changed but The Countrymans Weekly has nowadays more articles on digging than when I got EDRD last. It's hard to please everyone, LOL, there was uproar among the terrier boys in the early 90s when The W
  13. I'm completely useless when it comes to technology but by E-Collar do you mean the electric collars that are used by those who can't train dogs ? I hope that no fool ever, ever think of combining one of those with a locating collar. Think about it. A terrier goes to ground and is doing what his heart tells him to do and is then punished !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like I say, I'm not technologically minded so I hope I'm wrong.
  14. Either a vixen nearby or a bloody good food source. I bet Treehands that the unexpected tally was better than all the rats you expected, nice one.
  15. If only Mr Harcombe knew how much his political views, through his mag, probably cost him over the years through folk not re-subscribing ,but it's his magazine and he's entitled to write or publish in it what he want's. Personally I stopped getting it because of the lack of terrier and historical articles (Anyone remember the Welsh Doctor who used to contribute excellent articles) and too much whippet and going for a walk in the swamp articles. Bosun mention The Working Terrier mag which then became The Working Terrier and Running Dog and they were good. Before them was the Working Terrier
  16. Melting steel and having two buildings collapse into their own footprint is something that has never happened ever before, I find it pointless to talk about this to people since you then get labelled as a conspiracy theorist however I doubt this is even scientifically possible. Then there is WTC7 which was not even hit by anything and also collapsed freefall into it's own footprint. I just try to stick to facts and science where possible but from the minute I saw it happen I found the 3 building collapsing this way very very strange. If even one of those buildings has not collapsed ful
  17. If that thread is the one I'm thinking of it was one of the funniest thread on the Hunting Life.
  18. Marshman, just tell herself that you need to find your bag of stuff because the bank cards where in it. She'll tell you exactly where she put it.
  19. That's a good dig ,let alone to 20 month old youngster. I bet he enjoyed his rag.
  20. Had a dog and two vixens together this morning and weighted the dog as he was quiet big. 18 lbs exactly , so the more I think about it the more I think these 40 pounders can only be caught around Loch Ness.
  21. Best wishes to all, have good one.
  22. I had a pet mouse just like him once. Called him ELVIS. But he died. He got caught in a trap.
