Was at a works do one year and most of the staff were heavy drinkers. The boss left 2000 behind the counter. Lads shoved shorts and cocktails down their throats for an hour or two and spent most of the night getting sick in the toilets. The pub owner handed the boss back most of his money at the end of the night. The funniest works do was watching two of my workmates face down on the bonnet of a cop car with their hands handcuffed behind their backs. The hotel manager said she'd never take another booking from our village.

I suppose if you can't graze your pigs in an orchard but can get apples to feed them I presume the few weeks before slaughter is the time to feed them ?

You could write a book alone on the cunning of the fox. Because they're a predator like the dogs we use to hunt them they often know what works and what doesn't work. Have you ever been standing at the side of a covert with hounds screaming around it and out come the fox. But he goes down the field at a half pace, with not a care in the world = No scent. But he goes down the field as if his brush is on fire = Good scent. And he's not loyal to his own kind either, how often does he wake up his brother and tell him to carry on, LOL. Lets fac

at least you were first to ring and have the balls to find out for real the next step I would do bud is ring on private and tell them you are from rspca and would like to trace an owner of a lost and found pouch. I would do this myself but fortunately we are working legally in Eire and have nothing to hide so ispca can go fcuk The British boys are also working their terriers within the law but they have the same problem we have and that is that if you're seen with terriers in the countryside you might be accused of Badger hunting. Bellman and Flint collars are for finding dogs, nothing mor -

Does anyone take snuff nowadays ? Is it bad for you and is it addictive ? I never tried a cigarette in my life but took snuff a few times and liked it. I also often enjoyed standing near someone smoking a pipe, smelled lovely, LOL.

Have to agree that the Cougar is nice but I could never understand getting a pet stuffed, something weird about it IMO. There;s some other nice mounts there too and I like the Wolf in the first post. Something different.

Why's it in the loft Cragman, surely that should be on show ?

I knew a farmer who outlived two wives and chained smoked all his life. In retirement the only radio he had was in his Ford Fiesta and he'd sit in the car reading the paper, listening to the radio and chain smoking. You couldn't see into the car for smoke. He also drank a few pints every night. He lived 'till his mid 90s and I think he had a brother who seen the same age. Yet, you often hear of young people dropping dead nowadays. I agree 100% about stress being a massive killer.

Wasn't a veterinary lecturer secretly filmed a while back giving a lecture to a classroom of students. He asked the question whats the best course to take with a greyhound with a severely damaged leg. A student said euthanasia because a greyhound would have no quality of life. The lecturer said "Wrong" as that would mean one single payment but to amputate would mean an expensive operation and a long road to recover with plenty more treatment.

At the moment I'd murder a beer, if I murdered a fag I'd get jail.

Great read Dan. Personally I believe that to really appreciate any wild animal you have to have been made look silly by him a few times. The Fox is much more than just vermin. He deserves the same respect as any sporting quarry.

It's always nice to have a good truthful story behind a mount. I've seen some beautiful masks over the years and could have bought them, but where's the story ? I have a badger mask on my wall and it's quiet rough to be honest but when the wife went the first thing to go in the bin was the wedding photo and the mask replaced it immediately. The mask used to be on a full mount that sat on the shelf of a very well known sporting pub in Westmeath (the same pub once had two multi winning roosters on it's shelves too) and for years had a bald patch on it's arse. Fatman, on here, was having a pi

I don't know about Britain but here in Ireland the occupation with the highest suicide rate among males is the veterinary practice. I don't know why because crooks tend not to have conscience, unless of course it's the ones with a conscience who are killing them selves. Take tail docking for instance. It's legal in Ireland to dock the tails of pups of a working breed. But the Irish Veterinary organisation has told their members to refuse to dock. Dock the tail of a 5 day old pup = 10 or 20 euro. Bring an adult dog into have an injured tail amputated = hundreds. Docking is a basic animal

Any of the suede family is used as fodder for stock so turnips, beet etc. should make good feeding. I've always told myself I'd love to fatten some pigs in an orchard. That IMO would make super tasting pork. Nice one by the way on the four pigs for slaughter. You'll need a big freezer, or plenty of friends, LOL.

Absolutely, it could happen anybody who walks a terrier in the countryside. -
Why was alcohol first invented ? To stop the Irish taking over the world !

It's nearly impossible to find a badger skull without it's bottom jaw. The ball and socket jaw hinge keeps them together, probably our only wild mammal like that.

Personally I'd say a responsible owner was exercising their terrier with a collar on and the terrier ran off. Unfortunately for us and fortunately for the RSPCA Nazis the terrier has old scars. There's no point in going forward with this thread as that terrier is already dead and the Nazis are just looking for a conviction. -
That makes disturbing reading but does show that immunity is possible. Looks like rabbit farming is mostly to blame. Most countrysides around the world are full of rabbits and mankind decides to farm them !

No, she used to threaten to kill me. That didn't work either.

Anyone In The U.s Using Terriers

Good to hear Mr Johnson is still with us. I wrote him a few times and he's a very knowledgeable man. I'd love to have spoke to him in person as he told me all about his father being a true frontiers man who handed down his Airedale breeding to Henry Jnr. Wrote Tim a few times too and still have the American dog magazines from the 70s and 80s that he sent me over at a bit of expense. Sorry to hear he's out of terriers. Sorry to hear TR is still in them. The man who once boasted that he drove a Porsche from the profits from terriers, LOL, what a clown. And last but not least Greg O Don
