Pity he wasn't with us the next day, we had 5 runs the shortest being 20 minutes ,the longest being 45. Good veiwing, good hound work and good jumping. A good days hunting.

Just to add my tupence worth, I think a few people got over heated over nothing here. Penda was asking a question, notice the question mark at the end of his post! He's not slagging any ones dog down, he wasn't throwing names around trying to run people down, and isn't making out he knows more about terriers or has a better terrier than anyone else, he even says as much here - So why all the animosity gents? I ain't gonna be dragged into a daft slaggin' match with anyone on a forum, but I think people need to relax a little bit. As much as I love working terriers, 1 thing I've not

Any man who says this has never happened him isn't digging very long. Some terriers will do and it can be a result of bad entering or a desire to hunt all sorts of game. And it doesn't mean the terriers useless for bigger quarry but it is a bloody nuisance. Learn to read the terriers body language and get him on plenty of foxes and he might learn that foxes are more fun than rabbits.

Met this enthusiastic photographer while hunting yesterday. He does it for the love of hunting. We put him on the back of a quad and he said it was one of his best days. We're under Meath foxhounds and it even contains some pictures of yours truly. Plenty of foxes but short runs due to bad scent in the morning, the day finished with a fox leaving covert and giving the hounds (18 and a half couple of bitches) 35 minutes of a straight line before going to ground. www.davidryanimages.com

A job well done Comanche. Never a nice thing to see and I've seen terriers and lurcher act very differently when encountering a mangy fox. It's like the dog knows it's contagious. Those that do tangle with them pay the price. You do know Comanche you should have brought them to the vet LOL. No harm to send them pictures in to the CMW or Shooting times etc. etc. LOL might be good for buisness if anything. -

I hope that there is no one within terriers cruel enough to abandon a terrier thats proved to be a non worker. I don't think there is, my opinion is that the people on GMTV are telling lies. What annoys me is that someone comes on here and thinks it's funny, "joe public just dont have a clue" They do now when someone puts up crap like that on a (joe) public forum.

LOL Rumbled Steve, You should have edited a bit quicker. Still there's plenty of boys on here will give you what you want for the pups as they MUST be good workers. The pictures prove it ,as do any pictures lads put up of terriers well marked up. And the Anti's say "a big thank you" for more amunition.

He used to be on on a Saturday morning, 11 o clock. I used to tell my hunting partner I could go out 'till 11.30 but never told him it was because I was watching T.V. No videos in those days. Fond memories.

With the request of the land owner a fox can be killed using a terrier in Ireland and it's not illegal in England or Wales either. The laws not just there to be against us ,know your rights lads.

Yep that Vit B12 is very usefull stuff. I had a Springer have a phantom pregnancy this year. I had 3 terrier pups running with her. They were off their own mothers but started suckling the Springer bitch and filled her with milk. A nuisance really.

Neil the Middleton'strain book is crap, the old Middleton terriers were good i have old midd lines in mine , we can disect the back ground of every line , and ill repeat the question i asked Gary at the Yorkshire when did you put welsh in your line , never got answered mind, , so its back to what Ive said a hundred times, lines are only as good as the memory of the person who bred the terrier and the records kept , and the people who they obtained there stock off in the first place, old photos can be looked at to compare todays lines look at the photos of midds old stuff in that book and other

I've a friend in the North breeds them. He has 5 or 6 pairs and so far every bird he's shown have won first prizes when shown. He got his stock from England. The few we have are my daughters and hopefully she'll show them. I have to say I like them a lot and I don't usually keep something just to look at, even my canaries and mules have to sing to earn a living. LOL.
