  1. Regarding the original question. It is perfectly legal to use your terrier for fox control in Ireland. There are rules and a code of conduct in place that you should be aware of and stick too. As for several remarks being made about how loyal other fieldsports are to terriermen ? In the last few weeks after several meetings, several letters written, hundreds of phonecalls there hasn't been one suggestion made by anyone that some branches of fieldsports are anti terrierwork. Quiet the opposite in fact. The support behind terrierwork from ALL other fieldsport sections has been fantastic
  2. A great photo Liam , worthy of a frame. The sportsmen of old would be very proud to know that there are many good folk still carrying on and fighting for the old traditional way of life.
  3. Bog Side, the I.W.T.F. will be present beside the showring at the terrier and lurcher show this coming Sunday at the big Game Fair being held at Shanes Castle.
  4. Any new clubs wishing to join the I.W.T.F. should approach the stand we'll have at the Great GameFairs of Ireland with the name of their club, Contact name, Contact number, £10 euro per member. All details given to us will only be made available to the commitee ,should we need to contact you. As the I.W.T.F. is still very much in it's infancy the membership cards might not be ready for Shanes Castle but will be sent on to club reps. to distribute amongst members. We're trying to get a nice job done on the cards and it takes time so please bare with us. The I.W.T.F. will be present at Sh
  5. IMO there are only 2 reasons that someone would hold a camera closely to a terrier that's in bad condition. 1. your in the vetinary buisiness and will use the photos in lectures etc. 2. your new to the terrier game and think that using photos of terriers in bad condition will in some way enhance your ego amongst the other idiots that are very unfortunatly with in our ranks. And are unwanted within our ranks. I'd say in your case it's number 2.
  6. Congratulations to that young man. Keep up the good work.
  7. Just wondering, is today "National make a stupid post day." ???
  8. What a stupid picture to take in the first place let alone stick up on the WWW.
  9. Even with the current threat to the working terrier one of the first things suggested was to help recover stolen and lost dogs when the Federation was formed. WITHOUT A DOUBT, the busiest dog thieves in Ireland at the moment are the gang in Limerick and the two lads in Northern Ireland. Something must and will be done but IMO we have to drive it home to ALL folk that these dogs are being stolen because there's a market there for second hand dogs. Simple as that. Too many people are willing to buy dog with no questions asked. It can't be encouraged.
  10. Mustard, where I fish for bass is best fished for the 2 hours after a low tide, but that's an estuary. Yet, 4 miles down the coast they say to fish the three hours before a high tide and come in with the tide is best. Timing can be a big factor in bass fishing.
  11. Barrie, camaraderie would be an understatement. The room for the meeting on Sunday was pre-paid for by one lad out of his own pocket at considerable expence. At the close of the meeting EVERYONE that was there put their hands in there pocket and litterally covered the top table in cash. No one was asked to do this and they also said that the money wasn't their fees. I had folk on the phone yesterday who just wanted to send cash without forming a club. The support has been fantastic. If camarderie alone could win our battles for us then we're already victors. BUT, as you all know our vic
  12. Four new clubs started today folk as word is spreading. Any quieries about the I.W.T.F. the phone number is on the web-site.
  13. From the feed back so far this morning it appears that the meeting was a success and should go on to play a large part in the survival of terrierwork in Ireland. At the meeting yesterday amongst many others there were huntsmen, proffessional terriermen, an engineer, tradesmen and a doctor. All with a common interest. I've had phone calls this morning from folk who didn't know of the meeting and the forming of the I.W.T.F. and are very interested in forming their clubs and affiliating to the federation. Please, please, make sure that everyone who wants to fight for terrierwork is made aware
  14. Nice photos. Have to say, barble on the fly is a new one to me. Do you have to fish hard on the bottom or will a barble come up for a fly ?
  15. LOL, looks like Mr Plummer would be proud of the legacy he left behind.
  16. One of the most usefull terriers I've ever seen was 3/4 JRT and 1/4 staff. Not the best terrier I've seen but deffinately one of the most usefull. Mind you, the bull in him was the right sort as was the Russell.
  17. What if he is an anti ? Who cares ? We've nothing to hide. If your stupid enough to give your details to a stranger then that's your own problem. If your stupid enough to put up material on the WWW that can be used against hunting and fieldsports then it's you that should be F##### off the site. This site is crawling with anti's, wildlife crime police officers and dog thieves. It's up to every single last one of us to not give them any information or material that can result in folk loosing their dogs and hunting.
  18. Bearinator, My post wasn't made regarding the fighting ability of the fox or otter it was made regarding the stupidity of some folk on this topic. It was said to me yesterday that " the Hunting LIfe forums are like Sky News to the Anti's". I have to agree.
  19. MacColla, I can read and you mentioned breaking the law in your post. And there's another fool stating they're no harder than a fox. Silly posts.
  20. MacColla, nice first post. Admitting to breaking the law with your terriers. You'll be at home on this site, loads of other Anti's.
  21. Seen the programme. Staff or Pit Bull it was a lovely friendly dog in great condition. Very sad indeed that they killed the dog.
