  1. White van man, you don't know how lucky you are in this day and age. Tripe IMO is the caviar of dog food.
  2. Well done you, but I would have told the farmer that you'd be back. The farmer doesn't care about young rabbits and there's a lot of lads who'll take your place. Keep your foot in that door and see the farmer soon. He doesn't have to see your catch every time.
  3. No. There's those who'll say different but K.C. and work do NOT belong in the same sentence. Yes there are KC types that are brought out by their owners to do a day's work but for every dog (of any type whatsoever) like that there are 10 non KC that will do the job better. I challenge anyone to say different.
  4. Rob, don't take this the wrong way. That is not the best trophy in the world but you really did it justice. So don't say you don't want to see another for a while because if someone was to put a 16 or 18 pointer your way I would love to see it.
  5. Been there, done that BT. Been bitten a few times and it gives you a lot more respect for our little workers.
  6. It was in the news here recently. Gay men are still not allowed to donate blood in Eire.
  7. Always remember , nearly every single photo that has been used to harm fieldsports has been taken by a hunting person. In other words it's the fools within our ranks that are doing the anti's work for them. We don't need these clowns.
  8. There's some nice photos in his book of J.L. badger digging in Chequers, the Prime Minister's country residence. He's tailed the badger while a lady holds the bag open to put him in. Oh, how times have changed ! I enjoyed the footage of the stag hunting after that clip.
  9. And when he did have a dig it could be to 12 or 14 terriers, but he was one of the fore fathers of terrierwork. He used to boast that he did that much hunting he never had to clean out his kennels.
  10. That's good to hear but for a judge to judge saluki's under the rules of coursing he would have to be a mathematician, LOL.
  11. There's a bit of it going on over here too and IMO it's definitely something a hunting man should report if he see it. This sort of crime ruins it for everyone as well as stealing a family of their lively hood.
  12. You see Fatman, there's a reason to that. My daughter's a slow digger so it test's the terrier even more. She's getting greedy though, the other day she asked could she use a shovel as her hands were raw and bloody. Kids nowadays !!!!!!!
  13. LOL, I agree Trapliner and if you stick your head in quickly to check and get a lung full it ain't nice.
  14. Reminds of a few years back when the same subject ie. good parents V bad parents, was being discussed on the radio and the DJ said "How come you need a license for a dog but anyone can have a child."
  15. A friend uses a folding .410 and his has the legal minimum barrel so it will fit in a game bag and it's a great tool as is the .22. But the beauty of the 12 gauge is that you can use one at the end of a dig and if he bolts too. I had one lad with me Sunday with one gun and it was used both at the end of some digs and a bolt ,the one gun got 5 foxes.
  16. Can you put a pic up cheers? Sorry bud dont know how to,can barely turn this thing on,lol but they are same as the ones advertised in edrd,a mate of mine on here got it for us,Neil Cooney, thanks Neil by the way. I said I'd better get you one when I heard that you dig like a machine.
  17. I hope you've been on facebook telling everyone that.
  18. That's the grouse and a few other species about to disappear from that moor so, and a few jobs probably too, pity.
  19. Yeh, not quite as hard as most cyclists though. They are proper hard men, Yeh, or soccer players. They get 10s of 1000s a week and if someone touches their shin's they cry like a baby. Yet, a jumps jockey get a little over £100 per ride and get kicked by horses, pick themselves up and are in the saddle 30 minutes later.
  20. He had two rides, one won, one lost. Guess which one I backed ? Story of my life, lol.
  21. I'd love to see Dickie Johnson get next years championship after being 2nd to A.P. so many times. IMO A.P.s records will never, ever be surpassed and I hope he has another this afternoon in "Red Devil Boys", I've a few pounds on @ 3 / 1.
  22. Nice story Jigsaw. Have an old retired warrior in the house here, 14 year old this Spring and she get's away with murder.
  23. Many chancer's tried to say they bred Smithy but it's common knowledge now who bred him and what way he was bred. Either way one thing is for certain. Smithy was used by some very good terrier men over their bitches and then after that the line was kept right. And controversial or what one thing that's certain is that his blood is still very strong in a lot of good terrier mens kennels. IMO there'll be terriers heavy on Smithy blood for a long time to come.
  24. I'd keep them for myself and head to the nearest gift shop, LOL.
