I had a bitch that would bush and occasionally catch the odd fox when out exercisng. She would of made a handy addition to a bushing pack if she could be trusted around other dogs. That's the thing with them, everythings Hunky Dory 'till there's a reason to get stuck in and if you're on your own in the middle of no where with 3 or 4 terriers piled into one another with a Pit Bull (who thinks all it's Birthdays have come at once) then you're going to end up with major casualties. My fondest memory of that bitch Pepper was regarding a Hare. Some will find it hard to believe. I was sit

There's a neighbour of mine who has an aggressive cat. Aggressive in that it takes the fight to it's opponent. It fight's other cats and chases dogs. I've seen a Staff barking at it as it sat a couple of foot from the Staffs nose. I walked my terrier, Dixie, a while back past it's home and I forgot about the cat and they had an arguement. Dixie was loose and ended up chasing the cat away. Dixie's nearly 15, going blind and has very few teeth.

Most Pit Bulls are not suitable for hunting in the Irish and British countryside, it's as simple as that. But I have hunted a couple and funny enough they have good noses but no hunting sense, so to speak. 12 or 13 years ago there was a forum called The Bull Terrier Times. A good forum it was too. Someone asked the question "Has anyone ever lamped foxes with a pure Pit Bull or Staff ?" I called it a stupid question as lets face it, if the fox could be caught by something as slow as a Pit Bull it would be extinct. At the time I had a Jeep bred bitch called Pepper who I could exercise with

Strange Day On The Trout Yesterday

Fireman I could see that Snake Fly in white or even yellow being good for Sea Trout or even Bass in an estuary. -
Strange that eh? Almost every standard poodle I've seen has been very aggressive, far more than many other 'supposed' aggressive breeds. Mind you, saying that, I suppose in the dog you're on about, the agression could've come from the greyhound, who knows? Just musing to myself really lol Next time you see an aggressive Poodle let it see something aggressive and then make up your mind whether they're worthy of breeding workers from. Someone was on here a few years ago boasting about the great poodle crosses he was going to shut up everyone with. He must have immigrated because he never

Back to the original topic. I got a phone call the evening before last of a farmer to say that a cub and been in the yard (it was 6 pm) and had chased and scattered, but not caught, his hens. When I asked was he sure it was a cub he said it definitely was and a little smaller than a vixen. That's a phonecall I don't expect 'till around June at the earliest. I've a feeling it's going to be a busy Summer as there's plenty of cubs around but no rabbits.

Very good job there Blaise. If I'd make one criticism it's that it's a pity that the Patterdale is mentioned along with the Welsh, Cairn and Border terriers ,but that's the French opinion, LOL. I translated it and it's a good site for terrier PR. I might even buy one of the ties from the shop. I'd look very smart, LOL. Keep up the good work .

THANK YOU............................saved me having to answer him.

Don't ask silly questions TC. How on earth could you get a load of natural baits to stay in a bait boat ? Half of them would be out of your spod by the time you cast it out and Nymphs must be impossible to get on a hair rig. Seriously though, you could be on to something on hard fished waters but isn't there a lake in France (Cassien rings a bell) that holds giant carp that are near impossible to hook because they prefere the abundant crayfish in the water. So that tells me that on this side of Europe Carp prefere the baits that Carp anglers pour into the water instead of the smaller natura

Can't say I'm familiar with the Snake fly, is it a lure ? Montana is the killer on the local reservoir at the moment here. -
Fair play , I remember the one time that I got drunk, LOL, and stay on board cause you usually talk sense, even when you're drunk, LOL. Let's face it, the world needs Foxdroppers, and it's obvious he walks the walk. Some like it, some don't. But he can take what he gives. And it makes for a better forum.

Crows take them Neil. A couple of years back a brood went from fifteen to two overnight and it was crows that did the deed. I'd well believe it. Friends have twice seen Grey Crows taking Teal (didn't see it myself, but do believe it) so Mallard ducklings wouldn't be a problem.

If I escaped this mad house I definitely would never come back, LOL.

Any vixens I ever watched started to look more bedraggled as the demand for more food became bigger, a bit like human parents LOL.
-
I never thought of that. I presumed there was holes appearing on the course, someone seen some magpies and put 2 and 2 together. But maybe that's the problem. They must mistake the balls for eggs. I just supplied the trap and call bird and who ever's in charge will watch it.

I agree 100% ,if the Border fanciers had paid as much attention to the heart of the dog as they did keeping the coat the Border might still be a worker.
-
Do you reckon that's the mother of the cubs. She's in good fettle so. Any vixens I seen lately looked wretched.

Neil here in the north its called a discussion its only you looking to argue it seems, someone has to tell you how to how to do it competently because it seems by some of your posts you make it up as you go along! like the time You said you set a snare with a half eaten bird as bait? could you explain this theory please? as anyone who has set snares on a regular basis will know you only snare on a pad where the animal frequents and if you have the sufficient fieldcraft skills you will catch your predator...so why the need to use bait? ... all you did like you admitted this time was to feed a f
