  1. I think its easy to get carried away on emotion when your passionate about your club,i admire anyone who sticks up for their manor and their club but in general football terms you still have to keep it realistic.......comparing Sunderland and Newcastle in terms of size and importance is like me comparing West Ham and Arsenal........there is just no comparison.......i could come up with all sorts of statements that look good on the Hammers but id just be kidding myself..... i always think the neutral fan nationwide is a good indicator as loyalty doesnt cloud their judgement and i dont think any
  2. Max in all seriousness do you actually believe Sunderland are a bigger club than Newcastle ?..............Bigger in terms of history/tradition/ground/support/players/managers etc etc.....you cant surely ?
  3. Drag him back over here and get him playing in the lower leagues while he,s still young enough.... if it works out then money will come if it dont then his ol man can keep him .....good luck to the young chap.
  4. Have you got all night..........if the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight gets made give me a holler and we,ll have a wager if your that confident mate

Ol for crying out loud ....of all the dirty shitbags that could of got in the way it has to be a pregnant girl how unfair can life be sometimes.
  6. Im loving it.....makes you realise how high the standards are when you see some of these kids in the first round giving the big names a decent game.......probably end up another Taylor v Van Gerwen final again.....hope so anyway thats going to be a cracking little rivalry over the nbext few years.
  7. Max theres plenty of ex pros who enjoy a kick about with the locals thats nothing unusual......even ive played against Teddy Sherringham,Johnny Moncur,Martin Allen a few times in jumpers for goalposts games over Lloyds Park as we knew a few of the same people.....ok they wasnt up to my standard but we gave them a kick now and again ......obviously your not going to get big name players like|Shearer turning out for their local pub sides they would be swamped, doesnt mean they wouldnt want to though.

Always nice to see fit healthy youngsters rewarded for their efforts.
  9. Its funny,Calzaghe did that all his career and we loved him for it ........Nobody could say for 100% who the better of any 2 fighters are until they meet....but as far as Mayweather/Pacquiao go,s i know who my money would be on.
  10. There we go thats the spirit................make the most of it and enjoy each other
  11. WHU V Chelsea............followed by WHU v Arsenal a few days later
  12. Condolences to the folk suffering loss at Xmas...........but as for the rest what a miserable bunch of b*****ds !......We should be making the most of the few traditions we are allowed to keep......swapping gifts/reuniting with family & friends/childrens happy faces.......whats not to enjoy !...........and if you aint got kids or grandkids do what i do and borrow someone elses
  13. Shearer is famous its easy to judge famous people...............its not so easy to judge a person nobody has ever heard of.....hence its always best to stick to the principal of judging famous people for what they are famous for in my opinion.
  14. It wasnt though mate.....look at the high profile deaths in the game in the early/mid 90,s.....Sir Matt Busby,Bob Paisley,Billy Wright.........God himself Bobby Moore.....there was no obligatory public over emotional minutes applause every week at 6 minutes for Bobby ....or any of the others.....................it was the Lady Di street applause that set the standard for obssessive public grieving.
  15. Personally i think Pacquiao is made for Mayweather stylistically......today or yesteryear.

I would think the Scots have a bit more about them than to crave for English football fans sympathy............theres some Scots playing in the darts this week how about a minutes silence there ? a road fatality is as much to do with darts as it is football ?
  17. After seeing his first couple of pro fights i knew Khan would go a long way its a long time since id seen such hand and foot speed,i dont think ive ever seen a British fighter deal with southpaws so easy he still takes that amateurish big step to get his front foot on the outside but as long as he lets his shots go he gets away with it,its when he gets caught in no mans land he,s vulnerable.....i think if he threw caution to the wind and didnt engage Mayweather in tactical mind games he would have a very good chance of overwhelming him early on and forcing a stoppage......a better chance than

What a terrible carry on that is.....very sad.
  20. You are probably more familiar with yank fighters than me mate, has Mayweather faced any real speed merchants like Khan before ? i cant think of too many
  21. Nearly 100 English football fans getting killed in an English football ground cant be compared to 1 random foreign footballer getting cancer,or 1 random teenager getting stabbed. Its not just football that have these " Diana Moments " that fans are expected to observe either......good article this. http://blogs.hud.ac.uk/academics/blog/2014/12/05/the-death-of-phillip-hughes-crickets-diana-moment/
  22. There we go.......very nice.......hurry up and get this new shed up and show us the whole 9 yards
  23. Couldnt agree more as regards the codes of emotional conduct at football which many fans class as " ad " ( after Diana )
  24. Get this someone sent me October 6th 2004 West Brom vs. QPR makes history,as it is the first match to have a minute of applause in tribute for the entire game, starting with an 1st minute applause to show solidarity with a supporter who had stepped on a Lego brick without any socks on,and concluding with the traditional 93rd minute applause to commemorate the time the club ran out of pies before half time. The match finished 6 - 5 to West Brom but nobody really noticed,as they were too busy frantically trying to clap louder than the person next to them to prove just how respectful
  25. Not at some grounds they dont......give me the rough and tumble of Upton park,The Den,White Hart Lane over some of these mamby pamby trendy new age " offend nobody " crowds any day of the week !
