  1. I know who my money would be on i just cant bring myself to say it
  2. " Could " being the vital word......Millwall have to get past Bradford first and the way things are looking they,ll be a division apart the other way next year
  3. Where it falls down with the boxing analogy is boxing is not an annual knockout tournament.......i dont see a problem with 2 darts organisations but if they both annually hold a world championship then surely its common sense to disregard the one that doesnt have the worlds best players playing in it ?
  4. Its not the same in boxing....yes there are different orgnaisations claiming a world champion but they are not distinct levels apart in terms of ability......if the wbc only had world champions who were half as good as the other organisations they couldnt compete against each other...........not to say i like the different organisations in boxing i dont.....but it doesnt distinguish between ability like darts does. A better example would be the football premier league champions and the second division champions both claiming to be the best team in Englan !
  5. Forgetting organisations for a minute.....if a person claims themself to be a world champion......should they not have to beat the worlds best players to earn that title ?.....thats what i mean by simple.

When i said you are not the best spokesperson for Christians i meant for me,i cant talk for others thats for them to decide....which after reading some of the lads thoughts i think some feel the same........i dont know what you are like in the real world but if you come across as you come across on here and i wanted to listen, learn, understand and grow as a Christian i think you would take me 3 steps backwards for every 1 step forward.....ive a few friends who have been Christians probably longer than you have been alive and they dont carry on like you do.........i dont know your life and i don
  9. Fair point i suppose, not sure about the likes of Barcelona though but who knows. As for Ince the mans a hero to me.......too many Hammers seem to forget he scored the winner against Millwall in our greatest ever derby match in 88.....he could come and shit on my front room floor and id forgive him......so he had a photo in a Man Utd shirt big deal he was a little West Ham boy going to the biggest club in the land !
  10. I dont watch it.........the reason it shouldnt be called " world championship " is because its not contested by the worlds best players.....simple.
  11. Maybe im wrong about Gerrard i just dont really remember many of our power/drive type players being bought by the big foreign clubs before they seemed to either go for the finesse players like Hoddle or Gazza......or the outright goalscorers like Lineker or Owen......wasnt it Xavi Alonso who recently said theres only 2 English players who could play for Barcelona, one was Sterling the other i think was the Everton boy i forget his name now,the scouser.
  12. Your talking about West Ham in a conversation about darts ......yet calling me a clown !! Max the big difference is the flapping greyhound tracks or conference football dont claim to have " The World Champions " of the sport................whether folk like it or not Sky are the big players now in televised sport bbc stick with the traditional events but sport has moved on and they are being left behind with the second rate tournaments in darts,Match of the Day in football, hardly any boxing.......................................but i bet they still show the boat race
  13. Who,s saying negative things .....you are aware this is just a conversation about footie on the internet no need to get so angry.........and whats Mascherano got to do with anything he,s a completely different type of player to Gerrard.
  14. Im a massive football and boxing fan i,ll watch it at any level and enjoy it.......the likes of darts/snooker/tennis and many other sports i like but im not a massive fan so will only watch the highest level.....i,ll watch the Wimbledon final or the Snooker finals but i dont want to watch it down the local club !......Same with darts i only want to watch the best why does that make me a snob or a clown ?
  15. Thats exactly my point i dont think he could have done better at his natural size he was good because of his size not inspite of it... watch Glenn Ross at near 40 stone on a bodyweight event like the truck pull and then watch Jouko Ahola at barely 20 stone on the truck pull the difference in pure strength is massive ....and ultimately its a competition of body strength not body size.......Ahola was around 12% no strength athlete can compete much lower than that. By the way mate....he didnt find bodybuilding easy at all, infact the whole reason he went over to strongman was because he couldn
  16. He was banned for cocaine....if testing for AAS ever came in the whole lot would be disqualified.....hence the reason they dont test for it. The achievements of Pudzianowski and Glenn Ross cant be compared Pudzianowski was arguably the strongest man who ever lived and 4 or 5 time world strongest man....i dont think Ross ever got on the rostrum......he was touching 40 stone at one stage i just find it hard to call somebody like that an athlete but every respect for his natural strength.
  17. I wouldnt disagree at all......in my opinion keeping your physical technique together when under massive mental pressure is an art in itself.........boxing aside i went through an unfortunate period in life when i played table tennis, pool and darts for long periods every day ......even though there was never anything more than a tube of toothpaste riding on it the pressure of being ultra competetive is something that takes massive control so as not to let your mind get the better of your technique.......so when i watch a game like that darts tonight i have so much admiration for their strengt
  18. Better to compete and lose than never know if you can win ....i think its a cracking game any one on one mental battle of nerve like that i find fascinating.
  19. Yep.....i wonder if possibly he knew his limitations and made the best of what he had......which i admire ..........but what you say is true also
  20. Do you really believe that Wilf ?.......Dont get me wrong i think he was absolutely brilliant in the premier league probably the best midfielder of his era..........but im not sure his drive and power would have been suited to say La Liga......the speed and strength of premiership football suited him down to the ground but do you think he had the poise and touch that clubs like Barcelona look for ?
  21. "Scrappy" ? Two of the best players ever, playing out a 6-5 final with over 30 180's !! Were you watching the same match ? In all fairness Anderson did say himself it was a scrappy game........i think he probably meant in terms of the amounts of missed doubles.......both players averages were up and down every set. Gnash , I've been watching the BDO "World Championship" on BBC and Bt , and to see 70 and averages makes a mockery of darts. The PDC is so far in front it's unbelievable ! To call this final "Scrappy" is insane. The level of darts now is something old aquaintences of mine like

  23. He was without doubt an exceptionally strong man Glen Ross but for me a competition for body strength should be about winning inspite of your size not because of it.......those events where they would rest the bar on their belts or in his case rest the bar on his stomach to me went against everything strength and fitness should be about.......when you see proper strength athletes like Jouko Ahola or Pudzianowski competing in the same sport as a guy like Glen Ross it just didnt seem right to me.
  24. Dempsey,Tunney,Schmelling,Walcot,Marciano,Patterson,Charles,Johnson.......even Joe Louis........all would of been cruiserweights today.
