This maximum wage Max should it apply to all sports or just football ?......Football is the most popular sport worldwide why shouldnt they earn as much as any other elite athletes with a unique ability ?.....Wayne Rooneys career earnings are less than Lewis Hamilton,Lennox Lewis,Federer etc......should motor racing/boxing/tennis wages be capped as well ?......Tiger Woods career earnings are more than double what all 4 of those have earned altogether should Golf wages be capped as well ?.....Sport is what we pay for as entertainment no different to Hollywood actors who again earn far more than

Frazdog he does explain early on how he doesnt accept the bibles description of time/days as literal 24 hour periods.....i just thought he made a lot of sense and being a highly educated man qualified and experienced in various fields was somebody worth listening to.....he,s one of the few ive seen who can regularly debate evo/creation without getting backed into a corner as his belief is not based on faith but science itself...........anyway i thought he was an interesting chap.

Plod have it all sewn up these days together with football intelligence they liase with the clubs themselves on potential trouble games,if fans are able to get near each other then its simply because authorities dont deem it dangerous enough to warrant escorts......the cat c games will mean a police escort from the station/coaches etc.....a cat c plus game will mean dedicated transport laid on and monitored ticket sales as well as escorts they just dont take any chances with footie these days the football intelligence squads are alongside the drug squad in terms of their budgets and resources.

Again this where i see the difference in intensity of rivalries......as Max says its all tongue in cheek.......for some areas its just not like that and far too deep rooted to have banter about.....ive seen with my own eyes Millwall commit acts anyone would call scum,not just football fans but people from the area.......fellas of my generation from that area i dislike intensely as they probably do me its not really even about football it just runs through the generations and still applies to many of the kids today as its handed down as naturally as teaching your kids to cross the road......

Cant see it myself he dont seem like the going back type to me and its a big drop for him.... wouldnt mind grabbing him for the Hammers ! ....to be honest i dont really know what the Geordies problem is with him ive always thought he was a decent manager but then im not a Newcastle fan im sure they have their reasons.

Max what will it take for you to accept yours is not a particularly big rivalry ?...... can i ask how many derby games of other clubs you have been to ?.....ie,what you have to compare to......for sheer intensity id put yours about 6th or 7th in England on what ive experienced and on conversations ive had with other fans over many years. When you speak to people who have followed their clubs for years and years through the dark old days as well as present you realise big numbers really dont come into it......derby games like Liverpool/Everton......Man Utd/City.....Newcastle/Sunderland have

Sibson turned out to be an easy fight for Dennis but in all fairness in todays times Sibson wouldnt even of been a middleweight let alone a light heavy.

My point being historically,big name clubs have produced big name players,Newcastle have produced big name players Sunderland never have. Well of course theres something to prove rivalries are competetive if they wasnt then theres no issue........personally i think rivalry is healthy and certainly not cringeworthy....but each to their own. Totally agree ive been to some of the big rivalries even around Europe....Fenerbache/Galatasary....Lazio/Roma.....Olympiacos/Panathanaikos......they make most of our derby games look silly.......from what i can see the Geordie fans look at it like many fans do and see it just about football and big numbers.....but numbers dont come into it. The nastiness of West Ham/Millwall means the attendance will be far lower than even a standard league game and thats because your run of the mill football fan knows the history and choose to stay away.....your not going to take the wife and kids thats f

Lovely lad Dennis not the sharpest tool in the box which always made him fun to be around !.....He had his moments of success in that fight,the ref was very kind to Hearns as well.....Typical of the determination Dennis lived his life by he virtually begged Manny Steward to train him after the Hearns loss and Manny obviously saw something in him and invited him over to train and the rest is history as they say......I was always a big Hearns fan years ago Dennis got him to sign a big picture that he sent over for me that i had hanging in the gym for years ended up auctioning it off for charity

You keep referring to the Keegan era Max but in the decade before Keegan Newcastle still had the bigger crowds didnt they ?.....i know Newcastles gates were only in the mid 20,s back then but Sunderlands were 13 - 17k i dont see what the relevance is.....ok Newcastles gates went up post Keegan but they were much bigger gates than Sunderland anyway. As for this Kevin Philips thing id find it embarrassing if my clubs most iconic players came from the opposite end of the country.....most clubs iconic players have an affinity with the area like Newcastle/Shearer or my own West Ham/Bobby Moore.

Im a big football fan Max and i can remember literally hundreds of Newcastle players over the years,i can barely remember a handful of Sunderland players.......as an away fan Newcastles ground is one i look forward to visiting....Sunderlands is a ground i often dont bother with......thats my point mate the neutral has always seen Newcastle as a far bigger far more well known club.....Im not a north east football historian i couldnt really give a shit about either so no i cant remember much before the 90,s..... I could do what you are doing with my Hammers with regards to Arsenal or Spurs..

Probably a toss up with Jimmy Wilde for greatest fighter Wales has produced... i wouldnt argue either way......still doesnt mean Calzaghe never avoided fighting the best of his era at their best though.
