  1. I agree it was a crap atmosphere as are many of our home games these days......our away support is superb and always has been but i just dont think many regular football fans think our country is all that important anymore. Seems ironic that Rooney breaks the record when he looks to be playing just about the worst football of his career he just looks like his touch has completely gone to me.....fair play to him though getting the record before the age of 30 is some achievement.
  2. Having known the man since childhood and shared plenty of ups and downs its not for me to say how they came by money, even though its no big secret .....theres a reason he doesnt go into much detail in his book of why the whole family got banged up in the 70,s and while he will acknowledge to anyone he comes into contact with that he wasnt always a nice man he is certainly a changed man and thats all that matters.........as regards being a " gumshield rinser " that was a figure of speech to get a point over.... he has been without doubt the greatest British trainer of his generation......by the
  3. I never thought she was all that but seeing pictures of her now she looks like shes been left to hang out on the washing line too long.......give me a healthy looking sort with curves and a pretty face any day of the week over that ol moose.
  4. Slow down mate you,ve got my post all wrong.....the Krays messed it up and died in prison......how can that be a success story ?.....im talking about the success stories that have come out of the East End.....whether they were based on the straight world or crooked matters not .....after obtaining reasonable wealth had the Krays eased themself into the straight world they could of been judged a success but they didnt they wasnt interested in the straight world they wanted fame and glamour it wasnt a competition to see who was the hardest.......As boxers im told Reggie was decent and Ronnie was
  5. I must of copped the wrong end of what you was saying .......in my opinion being " hardworking " is a quality very few people are willing to admit to not having. I totally agree with your line " if someone was working every hour under the sun i wouldnt be impressed id be sympathetic "..........perfectly put.
  6. Yes but the Krays didnt have any kids............so whats the problem.
  7. that's it , anybody shoot a gun , any young bloke wanting to make a name for him self more so on drugs , would take either of them gays out no prob , and they the krays wouldn't have been missed well not by me, and I was born in 1952 . my old chap was proper man had 4 kids , worked 60 hours a week 2 jobs, looking after us 4 kids , we came 1st him+ mom second that's a man to admire , not couple puffs tooled up with plenty back up , that's cowards .!! Bird they wasnt out to make their families proud they was out for fame and fortune.....which for a couple of not very bright
  8. Certainly not lazy and yes i agree i think a lot of these traveller boys are just not blessed physically Fury looks the same, nothing wrong with their levels of fitness they just dont strip down like athletes.....my big worry with Billy Joe is that although he takes a great shot and is plenty durable enough he just doesnt have the power to stop an opponent in their tracks, which at the very top level can prove a weakness......im not too sure about Lee weight wise ive never really followed his career to be honest.

  10. Had my first one in a while the other day.....i tried all that cd lark, the bird scarer things none of them really worked...... i just begrudge limiting my view of the birds with netting/double wire and whatever else but prevention is better than cure i suppose.
  11. Must admit im not a big music fan but been listening to a bit of The Smiths lately.....Girlfriend in a coma and all that caper.......all a bit sameish but some catchy little numbers i quite like them
  12. Go and have a lie down theres a good lad.
  13. Ive seen him boil down to 160 and then walk in the ring at only 165/166.....he could do 154 on a same day weigh in but would be much the smaller man in the ring if not..... he just doesnt have that structure to him he,s quite fleshy....... never have a six pack
  14. You could certainly do with it son take my word for it you are beginning to sound a teeny weeny bit unhinged on here
  15. just read your edited to add..'Britains Gangland'...by Norman Lucas...published in 1969...a book i had as a kid...the whole Kray case was in it...it was all over the papers...and has continued to be through the 70's 80's 90's ect ect...everyone knows the Kray's story... You dont think the explosion of crime books in the 90,s was coincidental with the first wave of them about the Krays/Mclean etc then ?......not the odd book or paper report......the whole wave of crime books/films over the last 20 years you put at the feet of the media and not who is buying them ? Couldnt agree there mate
  16. Like i say i havent read all the books........which one was into children ? Cant argue with your second point......not that i know Al Capone either we,ll just go on reputation alone shall we
  17. No.....they trained together a number of times at the old Benjamin Franklin club in Canning Town and a few other gyms but never sparred.....the ol boy was a light heavyweight who ended up at cruiserweight.......Reg was a lightweight
  18. Well you,ve obviously read more about them than me i have no idea about some of those stories all i know is what ive been told by people of the generation and the area who knew them well enough to have an opinion.......describing people i dont know as " horrible " is something id reserve for kiddy fiddlers but each to their own i guess we all walk our own path and knowing the area like i do and experiencing the very back end of the post war poverty in these parts i can see how folk of a certain standing would do whatever it took to obtain wealth at anothers expense as they were dog eat dog tim
  19. rebel you know yer stuff in fairness,I do know the man your on about, spent a few years with him....another famous road bowler was the late Dennis Scully,a neighbour and decent man,Its not as easy as it looks believe me,and any prize money is hard earned, I reckon the rule book would be a fascinating read i cant work out in my head what they would involve.....what happens when a ball go,s off the road/lane......thats where the line is drawn and thrown from again i presume ? A nice ten miler on the M25 would suit me better
  20. " These 2 players know their tarmacadam " " have you read the rules " How can these 2 lines be in the same article Really interesting thanks for posting it chaps......last time i was over that way was to go in the old Ford Motor Museum i,ll keep an eye out in future........and i thought me and my pals bet on some mad things !
  21. GIve it a rest Max your fixation with London has nothing to do with Bill Shankly.
  22. Most definately......that was never in question.
  23. Rebel that link doesnt work mate its a shame as it would be interesting to see the ins and outs of the game/sport i wouldnt mind a crack at that just for a giggle.........not for money though you Irishmen are famous for how far you can hurl a rock !!
  24. It will probably be some corporate group trying to impress a new client.......i very much doubt if its Micky out of the flats wanting a bacon butty with his big hero Its a time when a dick measuring contest always go,s down well the charities love it when these things get out of hand......great stuff everyones a winner.
  25. Yes but Ireland is a country with non travelling people making up the large majority why would it matter if two travellers where fighting in Ireland ? Because a lot of traveller people were claiming it was going to be a massively supported event in a packed out stadium.........and it wasnt......simple. you/they got something wrong its not the end of the world......infact as a fight in a boxing ring go,s personally i think its a far better fight in England.
