Its the same as anything maintenance or repair......people would rather throw money at something once it breaks than put themself out to maintain it.....body,car,machine if its got moving parts you have to maintain it.....you cant expect to put regular stress through delicate parts of the body without a reaction thats why you have to maintain the body on a regular basis....disc degeneration sets in quite early in life if you have shifted weights around it will be even earlier usually lower spine around L4/L5 .....the key is maintenance,understanding and listening to your body.......suppleness,

"Humble " is the wrong word though mate theres nothing wrong in knowing and saying you are the best,if you are.....its his contempt for his fellow players,youngsters in particular that grates on me....some young lad slogging his nuts off practising 8 hours a day to better his game shouldnt have to listen to that from a fellow player just because that player has the rare natural talent to get up off the couch and win a world championship with no practise.....you dont hear other sporting greats do it maybe its just a " pub sports " thing maybe ?

Maybe ive misread the question but i thought it was what era in history would you like to have lived in not would you like to have lived yesterday or today.
