  1. As soon as bull blood needed adding to a strain of working terrier, then you just knew the strain where not really workers. what book did you read that in?-nothing wrong with a bit of bull in terriers -some come out a bit too big or too dog aggressive but that sometimes happens anyway-good cross when it works out- It was never needed in decent working jukels,a quick fix that produces more for the wheelie bin than a working kennel. Im only 32- how many centuries old are you? not having a go id say there was bull terrier of a kind in all of them long before we were born...Thanks for
  2. i'm surprised no one has mentiond the small hounds. as they was bred into most working lines. and a lot of the older badger digging terriers where a dog and a half long and half a dog high this and the big ears where a dead givaway . . depending on the district. many terriers had the little lancashire heeler in them . the corgi was also in there. and of course there was a dash of bull in many lines. despite what is said by a lot of knowledgable folk. the older bull crosses lacked very little. but didnt find favour with a lot of lads as they tended to be mute or to hard. and the bull back t

  11. the answer is greyhounds get injured to often and run out of steam to soon. they are good to watch for the odd run on a golf course . but sooner or later they come to grief. and becouse of the size and power and speed of them . it is usually a traincrash when it does happen. due to personal experience i would say . give em a miss
  12. that chance is there with any pup at twelve weeks. but i dont blame you and good luck rehoming him . the kids have to come first
  13. at twelve weeks old its not a terrier that is bad with kids . its a puppy that needs a few lessons and a little training/socialising. fair enough you dont think its a suitable pet with very young children. but dont write a pup of twelve weeks off and find it a good home where they are aware of the problems you have had. good luck rehoming your pup
  14. fitness is as important in terriers as it is in any sporting breed. if not more so. terriers are gemerally naturally fit and dont need a lot of fitness training. especially if they get regular work i think the best way is to keep a degree of fitness all year round. and try not to let them get unfit or overweight . it doesnt take much time and effort to keep a terrier fit. but it can be difficult to get one in shape if allowed to get out of shape
  15. i think the last one is better nige. also it could work better with a plain background
  16. too right. i usually hide it inside the sport. as i get a bit embarrased
  17. some dogs seem to be able to travel up and down through levels better than others. some can dig on better than others in tight spaces. and ive seen a few that disliked travelling through water. with plenty of work you get to know a dogs strong points. and any weaknesses. they all have faults/flaws.
  18. Cheers for the info mate will spend sometime reading the distuctions after the hols it's a nice camera looks. Like it can do quite abit it can do shitloads. and in the meantime you can set it on point and shoot. and get some pics up
  19. thats a crackin little camera. just set it on auto and get snapping . if you change lenses just be aware that you need to take a little care so not to get dust in the camera. get into the manual and read up on it and enjoy a . it can be used as a point and shoot . but you just have the option to expand on that if and when it suits you. i cant believe your moaning about it.
