  1. There was one bit of folk lore about a postman and his terrier who would always catch a hare every time they went out. He would walk in to the wind checking seats as he went. When he found an occupied seat he would walk in ever decreasing circles around the hare, till he was close enough for the terrier to make a lunge at the hare. The lore was he was very successful at it. TC
  2. The folk lore here was if you rose a hare it would always travel in a big circle and end up where it started from. TC
  3. I'll second that, a great thread in the making here. TC

FFS this is something that affects us all, it should be impotent to every member who has a dog, because unless they are stopped it could be you next. And what is happening? This thread is getting little traffic and fcuking Liverpool poxy football thread is getting more fcuking hits. Can't you see how it can affect you or is 22 poofs chasing a bag of wind more importent ? TC

  11. Sorry I thought you could not gain access to collie curs, I see you have a couple of posts asking about Luca I tried to find the dog with a search but could not find anything, all roads led back to your posts. A problem with search engines these days is that they only go back so far usually a couple of months. So if it's before that it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Sorry. TC
  12. Do you only go on one hunting forum? TC
  13. Very intresting, do you think that she may have young in that area hence using the same base so to speak? As opposed to a more nomadic life in the winter where the weather and feed may dictate where she goes the next day? TC
  14. It is still going, what is the dogs name? I'll see if I can find the pics for you. Edited to add: You can always google image the dogs name. That might find the pics you want. TC
  15. That should keep everyone happy in this section for the next few weeks. TC

  17. Any of the terriers I have had over the years would not enter cover unless something is at home. You have to start thinking, when working the dog work into the wind, that way if there is anything at home in the cover the dog will smell it, and that will give you a head start. How old is the dog? It sounds like a pup to me. TC
  18. As kids we used to catch minnows in milk bottles, tie a piece of string around the neck of the bottle, put some bread in the bottle and just lower it into the water as simple as that. You can make something similar out of pop bottles. http://offgridsurvival.com/fishing-trap/ TC
  19. Huss and chips tonight? Cut them into small chunks cover in bread crumbs and deep fry for a couple of minutes as good as scampi. But the question we all want answering did it spew over you? TC
  20. Cracking photo that, looking at the ground no wonder you have trouble getting them down. TC
  21. From Abergavenny follow the A40 through Brecon to Saint Clears. Its non motorway dual carriageway from Carmarthen to St Clears, at the roundabout at the end of the dual carriageway take first left on the A477 to Tenby. TC
  22. I suppose it boils down to your morality, morality is not only personal is also a cultural state of mind, what seems totally taboo in one country is accepted as totally normal in another. As long as you do not try and inflict your morals on any other person, I think it does no harm to have an opinion on other peoples morality, perhaps learn from it as well. TC
  23. No matter what you think of the man, you have to admit that killing any birds for no other purpose other than you are able too is pretty outdated. I have seen the outcry's when some person takes a hare and for fear of getting caught just dumps the hare in a hedge bottom. Same goes for pigeon shooters who kill a shed load of pigeons and dump them. I suppose when the tradition started there was a purpose behind it, protecting tree buds, etc.If that purpose is still valid then by all means but if there is just no purpose other than killing for killings sake, personally I think it's wrong.
