  1. It's not this one is it? http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/110872747/open-15ft-sea-fishing-boat.html TC
  2. Rana, are very good sea boats a mate of mine had one 15' and it would take some weather. I fished with him for a season in it, 20hp outboard and its up on the plane instantly. His was GRP though, pretty stable even in the worst of seas you would want to be out in in a boat that size. We even hauled lobster pots by hand with it. The nearest boat to it is a bonwitco with TC
  3. The trace would be around 20lb BS but it was only there to absorb the rubbing from the barrel lead and the rocks on the bottom it was about 12" in length. One thing I forgot to mention was the need with any spinner for a good swivel we use ball bearing swivels, more expensive but saved on twists in the line that would considerably weaken the line. Even then you would still get twists in the line, but what we would then do is leave the line out behind the boat till you spool was almost empty, then stop the boat and rewind onto the spool. The hooks were size 1. 1/0. Aberdeen fine wire and very o
  4. When spinning on Worms Head we used Kosters to good effect. One tip though swap the treble for an Aberdeen fine wire hook if spinning over rough ground, when you do get stuck the hook will straighten out and you get your lure back. Funnily enough you don't lose many fish off the single hook. Another eel we used was a Norwegian bent rubber eel with an ounce barrel lead above it. Trick with them was to get them caught on the bottom then jerk like crazy when they sprung loose that's when the take would happen. The run of tide is so fierce on the worm that you needed the lead just to get the e
  5. Nice! Where'd you catch that, if you dont mind me asking? From the sea? Mal you can ask, but whether you get a straight answer is another thing. TC
  6. One of my customers had a wasp nest in the gable of a large Edwardian house. Called pest controller and he done the job with rods, that will be £130 notes please, that was 3 weeks ago they were back last week. TC
  7. You'll have a shock when he tells you, and he is not joking. TC
  8. Sitting here with tears running down my face. I have just had my granddaughter for the day and videos like that bring it home to you how unfair life really is. TC
  9. That is a lot of weight, even in 4z that would weigh over 20 kilos without the pegs. The most I have ever set with two people is 350 yards and that seemed never ending. I had 150 in my jacket and my son had 200 and bundles of pegs in a burgen on his back. Setting it out was not too bad but picking it up was soul destroying. Best of luck. TC
  10. That is brilliant shooting. TC
  11. Well I finished the rigged yard and set it up. The dimensions need to be changed but the principle seems to work. The net is knitted in the same basic way as a long net with a few modifications. Front view. Rear view. The rear view shows off the pockets in the net better than the front view. The pattern needs to be modified to get deeper pockets but apart from that I am pleased how it is developing. They would make great little stop nets set on quick set poles. TC
  12. Well I have started it this morning I am only going to do a rigged yard to see what it looks like on lines. I have come up against one problem already that I had not thought about. It's not a major problem but it will take time to work around it. TC
  13. I have been mulling over an idea I had a while ago for a new to me type of net. It will be a bugger to knit and until I try and make one I don't even know if it's possible. It will be a sort of cross between a trammel and a normal long net. Because of the procedure involved in knitting a net like this I cannot work out before hand how this net will sit when rigged on lines. If what I am thinking is correct and it is a big IF, the net should be able to be tied in every 18" without losing any catching power. That said I can already envisage some problems that might make the net a white e
  14. I scramble them in the microwave, crack 2 eggs into a dish salt pepper and a spot of milk and give the eggs a good whisk, then just give it 30 second bursts at full power, once it starts thickening stir with a fork until they are ready usually takes a couple of minutes. TC
  15. I think the worse job I have ever had was cleaning out pens that calves had been in all winter, 3ft of straw and shit all trampled together and only a pitch fork to do it with. TC
  16. Is this the one? http://www.jbsnets.co.uk/index.php/vmchk/Net-Making-Supplies/6ply-Hemp-Twine/flexible_flypageV1_TIGHT.tpl.html TC
  17. To be fair, the quality of the bellies I had was no where near the quality of home reared. Yet within 4 days it made a good sweet dry cure bacon. I used the salad crisper box in the fridge and emptied it twice a day. I cut the belly into three pieces and rotated them over three days, 123, 231,312 the only thing is, I do not like a lot of salt so I used to soak the slices for a couple of hours to take most of the salt out of them. TC
  18. Have you tried making Welsh bacon out of the bellies yet? When rabbits were plentiful around here I used to swap them with a butcher for pork bellies and make Welsh bacon out of them. Really nice, no shrinkage, no gunk and crisps up quickly. Just wrap it in grease proof paper and would keep for weeks in the fridge. TC
  19. The blue eggs did not show up on my pc, are they old cotswoulds legbars? Is it semen in the bottles? I thought it may be something to do with artificial insemination? TC
  20. I only eat duck eggs if I can help it, lightly poached. Absolutely gorgeous, the daughter in law gets them off a chap in work £2 for half a dozen. I have to ask, what are the Pietrain bottles for? TC
  21. Same as a lot in these posts, my father, he died when I was 12. He was real old school, I often wonder what he would make of the modern advances in fishing and ferreting. One thing he did though was install a set of morals into me that I still follow to this day. Cheers dad. TC
  22. Have to agree with you there. God forbid it became a personal for sale section. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/forum/174-catapult-slingshot-hunting/ TC
  23. Well sorry, that you feel that way, but what you think is of no consequence to me. TC It's not just me and it's not just this particular incident. You have no credibility. You invent stories to try to bolster your weak arguments. Remember last week when you claimed to be flying the worlds heaviest Harris Hawk? Lol!! That was a funny one!! I have to give you that one. I had had a few and could not remember what weight she flew at so just plucked a number out of the air. Once I had pressed send I realised what I had done, but it was too late then. TC
  24. Well sorry, that you feel that way, but what you think is of no consequence to me. TC It clearly is cause you keep replying/biting But who is winding whom? TC
