  1. I'm from Swansea, our dog track is long gone now, i might be going to a game fair up Caerphilly way in a few weeks so i'll check out Bedwellty track when we're up there I think Fforestfach is still open, pm socks he will know. TC
  2. This is what I thought was a ducks beak. TC
  3. Gaz, I have no personal beef with you. But it does seem to me, that when your integrity is called in to question, you instantly go on the offensive. Yet you are quite willing to doubt other peoples integrity and naively expect other people to have the same opinion as yourself. To be honest your posts come across as if your a 15 year old lad who has done nothing, yet really want people to believe that you (for the want of a better phrase) walk the walk, when in truth you cannot even talk the talk. TC
  4. D Maybe you are right. A few pics have been of bunnys what look dead before the dog strikes, on it's side and shitting, lol. But either way I asked the guy loads of times, if you are correct then he only had to say so. Too many bull shitters on here wanting to paint pictures of perfect dogs, perfect owners, perfect amounts of game around them. A bit of honesty goes a long way. And the lads putting there tongues up their arses need to have a word with themselves. You can post a photo of a lurcher looking like a fat lab and get "cracking dog pal" about 10 times. I am not disagreeing with
  5. Last post I gave the benefit of the doubt that you were not like the rest of the wankers, but again I am proved wrong. TC
  6. As usual I have not got what I wanted to say across clearly. I was using the quote as a post that is indicative of the people who class any dog that says "whoo I have had enough I have given my all" as jackers. Even though the sentence did not make sense to me,"See agree with that, but if you have a dog of any type thats jacked thought of jacking the only way you will stop it is not to work it to hard?" I did draw the conclusion, erroneously perhaps, that you frowned on dogs that said "I have had enough". That was enough for me to get on my soap box and rant in general it was not meant pers
  7. For the water you fish some mepps will work better than others, it really is a matter of trial and error to find the best one to suit water conditions where you fish. There are some basic guidelines but that is all they are, guidelines and not guaranteed to work everywhere. The clearer the water the duller the spinner, black works well in gin clear water The more coloured the water the brighter the spinner silver, moving to copper as the water clears. TC
  8. Well feck off and read another thread then no one is forcing you to read it. This is what really puzzles me "I tested my dog to the limit" great but how does anyone know what the dogs limit is until it breaks? What they are actually saying is I run my dog till I killed it. They are not machines they are flesh and blood and should be treated as such. This "jacking" lark is not new it has been going on for years and there are hundreds if not thousands of dogs that were killed over the years just to prove a point and to appease the ego of the owner. Every bit of flesh and blood has

  10. This may make me less popular than I already am? But I am one for the truth. Do I believe that the dog catches what is shown on here? Ans yes, would I like to own the dog? A very big NO. IMHO the dog has a mouth like a vice as do a lot of smaller dogs that cannot handle a struggling rabbit so give it the chop when they catch, hence the lifeless corpses that are retrieved. TC
  11. all men are different all dogs are different but some just seem to understand each other when this happens an average dog will possibly become a good dog, i am shit at most things but i can see in doggy vision Surely it is not a coincidence that some owners seem to have an affinity with almost any cross and seem to get the best out of the dog no matter the cross? We have all had to learn how to handle dogs, the more dogs you have handled in theory the better you should be, but with some people it just seems instinctive. TC
  12. Last year I went out with a pup out of Paulus's dog not sure which one, for a pup that dog had an old head on it's shoulders, that said the owner was pretty switched on with the pup too. To see him handling the pup, no pressure on the pup just gentle guidance now and again when it was needed, to see the pup react positively was a real pleasure to watch. A good dog in the making. Some men can get the best out of a dog, others can't. TC
  13. I have never seen a rabbit with a beak, have you? TC I can't see a beak? Now I have looked at it enlarged I need new glasses. TC
  14. I have never seen a rabbit with a beak, have you? TC
  15. Is that a duck the dog is retrieving? TC

It's interesting that since the decline of the lapwing the incidence of liver fluke is a lot higher not only in sheep but in wild animals also. TC
  17. I have been making purse nets for nearly 50 years and there is not a lot of difference between good rings and sliders, if you think they purse faster then use them, but one thing I will tell you, a net only purses as fast as the rabbit that hits it is travelling. TC
  18. Must be something to do with shit and roses? Well done that man. TC
  19. Congratulations Mr Wilkes. I really am pleased for you. TC
  20. Agreed, its possible but on very well clipped grass, edge of a caravan site the spot is owned by a very good friend, and when the place shuts at the end of the season it will get smacked with them and the rifle, this is something I have to do now its something I have not tried before, so its become a challenge, one that might cost me,but I doubt it will be that expensive, the ones I have found on the internet, look well over engineered heavy and expensive, god loves a trier, and by the look of it this method seems to be one that has yet to be mastered,I may fail I suppose I should play my cards close
  21. Sounds like a fox to me, but there again what I know about snaring can be written on a postage stamp. TC
  22. When buzzers are near or on the surface they are hatching and get little pockets of air when their skin splits. A thorax made of animal hair also traps air so gives the fish the illusion of a hatching buzzer. When you have a flat calm the buzzer cannot pierce the surface film so it dives and accelerates towards the surface film trying to penetrate it. When that happens you usually see fish just bow waving as they are taking the buzzers suspended just below the surface. That is how the draw works you are copying the buzzers sinking and accelerating towards the surface. TC
  23. Just as a matter of interest as I know you will have already thought about it, how are you going to get rid of the bracken? TC
